I just cycle in the middle of the lane in UK. No one seems to mind but the odd (rare) driver but they still overtake on the incoming lane with no issues.
Who really cares if your drive is slowed down 30-90 seconds by waiting for a cyclist. Driving has a strange competitive mindset about making your journey in an “expected time”. I’ve never understood that
This is difficult to explain. I can’t figure out a rule of thumb for spending, the prices of things fluctuate so quickly it’s confusing. Here are some examples...
That’s barely thievery though, I’m talking about going into the office and stealing someone else’s laptop, or taking money out of the safe/cash register.
Your example doesn’t attribute losses for the company because I doubt they budget the residual value or the old laptop. Therefore you’re causing no effect on the victim
We are both refering to “thievery” but you’re describing one extreme scenario and I’m describing the other extreme scenario. semantics.
The reason I say what I say, is because somebody stole my car and the term “he could afford it” came up more than once. Meanwhile I was left without transport for a while
The EU does definitely not have an easy reject all button…it’s always a minefield to work out how to disable them. Most take over 30-60 seconds to find out how to disable everything
Me too, they are far too quick to bring out the perma ban. My 10 year old account went from a minor subreddit ban (for asking why a mod banned someone else) to global perma ban within 12 hours. In fairness I reported the mod and said he’s a neckbeard but that shit isn’t worth of global perma lol.
Overall, I think this is good news for lemmys future tbh
I got perma banned for saying the mods ban people too easy and they need to rethink their criteria for ban Guess I’m a “massive shit-loaf” with you too

Disney is raking its customers over the coals with a 75% price hike for their annual subscription (originally $80.) People wonder why piracy is on the rise.Multiple commenters are saying I’m off base about the 75% price increase. My payment less than a year ago was $79.99. Here’s the proof.
Lemmys users have the same habits as redditors. The same jokes are recycled here for upvotes too. It’s the same site but upvote numbers are divided by 50
In my opinion this is a problem with the internet in general, younger people tend to crave attention and often receive the most online because of the anonymous platform it gives them.
As I approach 35 I find myself half writing comments and deleting them because I don’t fucking care. This time I will press send
I’m convinced that any “new” internet protocol will eventually fall victim to capitalistic human greed in the exact same way. Human greed is what causes the world to be what it is now and that greed still exists in a strong percentage of people today (if given the opportunity to exploit it)

You have no idea who I am or what my views are. You probably romanticise with the idea I’m a russia sympathiser but I hope vladdy the baddy is killed and also the war ends immediately. I’m just one of those people who can see the western bias for what it is, the circle jerk is cringe on both sides
You can't cd or ls in a folder if you have no +x permissions on it. That is all. I wasted 3 hours of my life.
