Waldemar_Firehammer,

It’s pretty easy to put unbound on with pihole.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

The Switch isn’t that expensive to make, the chip, memory, and storage are all budget af.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Google is rolling out their own find device network soon™ with third party trackers that are rechargeable. They’re pushing it through play services too so every android phone in the world will be in the network too, so it’s a much more global network if you are traveling off the beaten path.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

You have full control of the level of opt in. You can go always listening, only in high traffic areas, or completely opt out of the network. But if you want to use the network, you have to contribute to it.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Kreacher because it alerts for no reason and doesn’t do a good job at the one thing it was made for.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

I actually went opposite on my Pixel 8. A matte tpu screen protector gives you a self-healing protective layer that feels like paper and doesn’t have glare. A beautiful bright display with a high refresh that feels like a kindle.

Disney is gouging customers with a near doubling of subscription costs. (sh.itjust.works)

Disney is raking its customers over the coals with a 75% price hike for their annual subscription (originally $80.) People wonder why piracy is on the rise.Multiple commenters are saying I’m off base about the 75% price increase. My payment less than a year ago was $79.99. Here’s the proof.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Yep, it feels like we’re about to see the second wave of piracy, and more and more people are going to dust off their jolly Rogers. $80 was worth it for the catalog, but the price hike is completely unjustifiable. I’ve already canceled my sub, and I’m betting there will be plenty who do the same. A 75% increase is egregious.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

It’s already been cancelled. 🏴‍☠️

Waldemar_Firehammer,

The previous rate was $80/year, now moving to $140. That’s a 75% increase.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

You’ve misread the email. They said 12 months for the price of 10 months, not dollars.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

The fact that there are multiple people in this community that have commented that they are cancelling their sub shows the value of sharing this post. Not all pirates are pure plunderers. There’s a good amount of us that pay for content that is appropriately valued to them.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

If that’s the case it’s even worse. I paid 80 bucks less than a year ago. I

Waldemar_Firehammer, (edited )

I paid $ 79.99 less than a year ago. If they hiked it from 80 to 110, then hiked it again in less than a year that makes their practice even worse. They saw no dip in users so they thought they could go back for another bend over the bar.

See my edited post to see proof.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Check my edit. I was billed $80 less than a year ago.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

See my post edit.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

I had no idea they increased the price twice in the same year. That’s even crazier if so.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

My post is objectively true for the year-over-year pricing. See my post edit for proof.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

There’s a lot of free models out there already, and most models are created by individual artists. I encourage you to skip your coffee for a day if there’s a paid model you really want to use, as you are directly supporting members of the 3DP community, rather than some corporation.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Awkward techies is my guess.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Tuck the shirt a bit more, and fix that belt. Goodwill has plenty of decent options.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

You can buy a Lenovo X1 carbon from a couple of generations back that still kicks ass for well under $500. I grabbed a Gen 6 with an I5 in it for under $200, slapped a m.2 SSD in it, and now I have an amazing daily driver that I don’t have to worry about.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Yep

Waldemar_Firehammer,

This game was a giant part of my childhood. I fondly remember playing in the car on late night road trips as streetlights went by.

I still have my DMG, and Donkey Kong is still in the slot. It’s hands down the most nostalgic piece of my past that I still have.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Aldi has a really tasty version that our whole family prefers.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

The tldr is the pi foundation hired a former police officer and helped to provide hardware for ‘legal’ surveillance without a warrant. They then doubled down when confronted about it.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

‘ice cold milk.’ Could be talking about a glass of dairy, or a delightful dessert.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

The general sentiment is that the publisher did all the work, and the charity needs the money the most. Humble Bundle is a fantastic platform, but they are a middle man than takes a slice for bundling the products and presenting them to you. That has value, but the other two options deserve a majority of the pie.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Pedestrians hate us too. Drivers want us off the road, pedestrians want us off the paths. We are welcome nowhere.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Toyota and Honda are the most depends and reliable. There’s a reason they hold value the way they do. I have a Toyota Highlander and Honda Odyssey both over 250k miles, still running like champs.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

I would personally recommend the SV06 Plus over the sv07. V-rollers suck, and the 07 has proprietary nozzles.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Volcano nozzled do work, you just have to adjust the probe to compensate. Thanks for the correction!

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Pancakes, waffles, French toast, in that order. Waffles are amazing, but nothing beats an old fashioned diner pancake with butter and syrup.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Nalgene for life. Lifetime warranty, BPA free, and durable as all hell.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Gross. I used the widemouth, so there’s now rubber gasket to trap water.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Guitar. Pedals, amps, cables, picks, more picks, straps, strings, mics, stands, clamps, etc all add up. Oh, and of course you’re always enticed to upgrade, but you can’t get rid of the one you’ve grown to love, so now you have n+1 guitars.

To be clear, you can do amazing things with a Fender Bullet, but it’s a slippery slope for sure.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

^this guy gets it.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Kitchens are always a grind, but you should be getting more time off than that. Freaking owner/operators get more time off than two days a month.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Block has a pretty clear definition, if they can still contact you in any format they aren’t blocked.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Gun control is ineffective. The real issue plaguing the US is poverty and mental health. Just look to some of the areas with the most strict gun control laws, they’re also the areas with the highest gun violence statistics in the country. Chicago, New York, LA to name a few.

One of the reasons places like schools are targeted so often is because it’s a known soft target. Gun free zones are known to have less resistance to the scumbags and cowards that are doing these heinous acts. If they knew that every adult could potentially fight back and give as good as they get, I would expect there would be far fewer mass shootings. These people are cowards praying upon those who cannot resist, and even the threat of potential return fire is enough to deter most.

I’m not saying that we should force every teacher to become certified and carry, but it should be up to them whether they choose to fight for their students, and if they do they should have the same or better tools than the bad guys.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

A former employee shitting on their employer during a scandal to draw media attention has been the oldest trick in the book. If more stories come forward or others corroborate the individual claims, it’s worth notice. Until then, all I see is someone who took a high pressure job, couldn’t hack it, and now they’re trying to cash in on the negative experience for media attention.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Exactly. Something doesn’t smell right. If she wants to corroborate her story, she can start by showing her ER report for the supposed incident where she self-harmed to get out of work. That would be an easy paper trail to share and since she’s already disclosed that information, she wouldn’t be giving anything else up.

Words themselves have no value in these instances.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Absolutely, the criticism from gamers Nexus was fair and earned by LMG, but these allegations are not only completely separate from the issue with quality, they’re completely unsubstantiated. Should she start corroborating her story with things like the ER report from her reported incident of self-harm, or other employees confirm her story and are willing to state that they actually witness these accusations, that would be another story.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Most libraries have a printer you can use.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Depends on the library, but typically it’s first come first served. You give them the file and they print it, and you pay for the filament used.

Waldemar_Firehammer,

That’s already an individual decision over can make, and it should stay that way.

State of gaming on linux?

I used linux in the past, both privately and work-related, but the last time was over 10 years ago, so I’m a bit out of touch. I am in need of a new PC, but it’ll be a good year before I have the funds, so for now I am making due with an i5 7500 and a gtx 1660. I do have 32 GB so there’s that. I finally feel confident...

Waldemar_Firehammer,

Look into Emudeck, It does all the hard work for you, as well as emulation for everything that the steam deck can handle.
