Nothing lacking at all. It’s business intelligence. Greedflation. A corporation has a fiduciary obligation to its shareholders to maximise profits by whatever means they can. It’s capitalism pure and simple. You can rest assured that people who get paid lots of money did complex forecasts to predict what the ramifications would be. In the end they decided it was worth it. And for them it probably is.

Memmy is very buggy and crashes a lot. It was a strong contender 2 months ago. But the developer, by his own admission, can’t be arsed to update it in a timely fashion. In the intervening weeks strong contenders for iOS have arisen. I think Lemma is the most promising, although it’s available via TestFlight at the moment.

It’s time to talk about something Star Wars has been avoiding for some time: recasting its original trilogy characters. There have long been calls for the likes of Luke Skywalker to be portrayed by new actors (Sebastian Stan, anyone?) but it has, by and large, been something that the franchise hasn’t needed to properly...

Time for a fucking reboot of the whole thing. It Batman can be rebooted 7 times then Star Wars can have one reboot. Start by reshooting eps 4-6. Keep 4 and 5 essentially the same but with modern digital capture and better effects. Tweak 6 to remove the ewok stupidity. Make massive changes to 1,2, and 3 to remove some of the suck (jar jar, bad acting, pointless characters, etc). Completely shitcan movies 7,8,9 and start over with a plot that isn’t retarded and doesn’t plagiarize 4-6.

Composition wise: nice. No complaints except maybe the lady arsing around on the right. The image offers peace and quiet, interrupted by whatever she’s blabbering about.

Subject matter: it’s a row of boats, it doesn’t grip the viewer or leave them in amazement, or leave them thinking about the photo later. This photo doesn’t evoke much emotion in the viewer beyond “yea that’s cool”. Not that every photo has to do that. But as photographers the most important part of a photo is asking ourselves the question: what emotion or feeling do we want this photo to evoke in the viewer.

Process: praise for not cranking up the saturation. Looks like you may have chosen one of your DAM’s built-in make-it-look-like-old-film filters. I hope this fad ends soon and authentic colours become the hot preset trend. I will say, though, that this photo carries the filter very well. The soft overall coolness works well for the subject matter
