I have a who is a screen actor and they often work for very little pay. Even a recurring character on a hit TV show might not even be making enough to afford health insurance.
This friend recently landed a small but important role in a movie that gained somewhat of a “cult” status after its release. The money he makes from selfies and autographs at conventions is sometimes the only money he earns that month. I can see why it disappoints fans, but I can also understand these actors who are just trying to stay afloat. Especially the Trek actors who often don’t seem to get much other work.
I don’t known if you’ve been paying attention to the SAG strike, but it’s been really eye opening for me! Of course it sucks to pay 10$ for an autograph from a millionaire, but I wouldn’t assume to know how much they all actually make from acting gigs.
Hello everyone! For a while i’ve been using Okular, but I feel like the UI is a bit crowded and it’s difficult to change the appearance of the book itself. Are there any minimalist/simple epub readers for Linux (perhaps something akin to Apple’s “Books” app?)

Same in Germany. The big grocery chains all deliver for a reasonable fee. Also, at least in big cities, most neighborhoods have a grocery store in walking distance for most people. Delivery becomes almost unnecessary (for the able-bodied folks)

In all honesty, I will probably just tip the minimum amount and try not to let it get to me. Its not like I’ll be out eating by myself anyway, there will be plenty of social pressure to help me along :)

I also think its silly that tips are based on the price of your meal, as if that has anything to do with the service whatsoever. So the person who ordered a steak pays more in a tip than the person who ordered a salad? Why? It would make way more sense to tip based on time spent in the establishment. I would understand a standard 5$ tip per half-hour or something way more.
A tip less than $4.81 means you expect the driver to earn less than minimum wage.
I disagree - it means you expect them to earn a wage regardless of how much you tip. Bosses should pay their workers a living wage, period. DD drivers shouldn't have to rely on the kindness of strangers.

I feel the same way about big games, and just yesterday I was feeling the same anxiety after the tutorial island in TOTK. I usually feel I need to find every secret and every korok sees etc. But this time I'm trying a new strategy - letting the game lead me. Some NPC says "go do this now", OK I do that and try not to get side tracked. Supposed to visit a certain town next? Then I go there! The game (so far) does seem linear or at least it offers that option*, so when I'm overwhelmed, I follow that line.
