I have given it a 2nd-3rd-4th go, each time with a new friend who hasn’t yet seen it. And, no joke, I still pick up on a TON of details I’ve missed before. It’s just… so good
I’ve only seen it with subs. I have read on an old thread that the dubs are pretty good, but I haven’t given them a shot. Maybe I will try on my 5th watch!
I’m a heavy emoji user, texting is such a poor medium for communication, many times people get the wrong message, but with an emoji you’ll get an idea of the face I’m making, so less chance of misunderstanding...
I’d say a contributing factor could be tv/films. It’s very common to see the divorced/dumped/bereaved/generally lonely people heating up frozen food and pushing some meat puck around with a fork, feeling pretty close to ending it all… it’s just dumb social commentary but I think it shares some blame for the “universal view” of one person heating up a frozen dish being kind of pathetic
We got my husband some Helly Hansen boots the year before last and we noticed a hole in them last year. I am right pissed. If I’m dropping hundreds of dollars on boots, I expect to get my money’s worth. What are your awesome boot suggestions to help me do just that?
Hey though, it gives the extra benefit of knowing who else there is Alaskan from knowing glances! I definitely notice them immediately when I’m out of AK
For fun, I recommend challenging your partner to a “most talented loser” set of games. Set up rules (like, you can’t just immediately tank and end the game) and play like you make the worst decision each opportunity. If you have choices between smart moves and really dumb moves, choose the dumb ones. That way, one of you ends up accidentally winning.
As a kid, my brother had really awful sportsmanship but whenever we played to lose, it was far more fun and silly
I considered moving this hefty tome from the video as a gesture of humility, then thought to myself, what kind of scholar am I, who feels the need to hide my savoir-vivre?
I don’t think so, she only does that after the shower has been running. I think condensation builds on the handle. Vet says she’s in perfect health so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Well, to comment on this take, I would like to mention that in America (at least) ice makers in the fridge (either freezer or dispenser in freezer door) have been an unavoidable option when purchasing new appliances for about ~20 years. Even used ones in that timeframe mostly have this feature. Buying fridges over 20yrs old is… not recommended
This is a broad format, but I like the American English formula of “Well, blank my blank and call me a blank!” to express “oh wow, I did not expect that!”
Typically in my experience, it is pretty vulgar. Eg: “well, slap my ass and call me a bitch!”
I share a name with a very famous professional athlete. I don’t even think about it usually but as soon as I have to give my name to someone I can pretty much count on some remark about the athlete by the same name....
I share a name with a cultural icon from the 90’s. As time goes by, younger people don’t notice. It was annoying having to say “yeah, I know, I was born before she was famous…” all the time. Older people still make the same tired jokes, over, and over, and over…
Mostly I type the way I speak, which tends to ramble a lot. One time forever ago someone on Reddit gave me shit and asked if I was not a native English speaker (aw, I sure do miss reddit!). Since then, I largely delete my comments because I’m sensitive about sounding wrong/stupid.
I was having some problems with Google podcasts (which I used for years) and switched to Pocket Casts. It’s been great other than some kind of clunky bits when trying to add to/edit your play-next queue, but otherwise I think it’s a pretty great transition from Google
I sit in the window seat with backpack in the aisle seat. I started doing this when, as a college student, one older man would always sit in the seat next to me when he would board and the bus was otherwise full. He would leave his hand on the separated part of the seat bottom, so that he could “accidentally” touch my ass. After that I had a few more scattered incidents with men trying similar shit, always finding ways to touch me, and therefore started holding my bag in the other seat like treasure. I’ve had guys more than once ask me if they could sit where my bag is and I now am confident to just say NOPE

My most hilarious and embarrassing story has an element in it that involves seeing my friend get knocked out by his father in front of my mom and brother. The kid was 15 and was in trouble for breaking landscaping bricks at a local park.
The hilarious story happens right after that, when 11 year old me got violently pantsed by bike handlebars in front of a man driving by and now I am realizing that the whole thing is traumatic :(
For me, personally, It would be Snatch. It’s such a great movie that I could watch again and again. So many interesting characters and a unique style that sets it apart from so many other movies. There’s just that extra something in that movie...
I honestly can’t choose between Alien and The Shining. Honorable mentions to My Neighbor Totoro and Dumb and Dumber. Shit, now I have four movies to watch this weekend
I thought of a few examples, but want some more. Don’t count songs with nonsense lyrics or instrumentals without lyrics. Don’t count bilingual songs (unless neither of them is English, or if the English portions are commonly omitted). Don’t count songs primarily popular among immigrant populations or others fluent in that...

For me, it’s either the Matrix or Pulp Fiction. I have seen both a lot of times but certainly not more often than say a dozen times.
