corship,

Obfuscation is not security, changing the port doesn’t increase your security

corship,

From what I understand you obfuscate the port in order to limit the amount of incoming attacks. But then fail2ban would be a much more effective tool.

The disinterested aspect you described is the actual problem. Because it’s based on the assumption your port won’t be found, but it definitely will, and as soon as that happens you’ll end up in a database such as shodan and the entire effect is GONE.

corship,

I wouldn’t be overly harsh.

Some logos/images/designs are simply hardwired to the function that they can’t remember where the apps are if the logo changes. I’m pretty sure I’ll be the same if I use something for 30 years.

corship,

Why is everything in consumer / American life so fucking shitty now - and companies literally just say 'oh bc profit margins' and we're now expected to swallow that and sympathize?

like I went to taco bell and they didn’t even have napkins out. they had the other stuff just no napkins, I assume because some fucking ghoul noticed people liked taking them for their cars so now we just don’t get napkins! so they can save $100 per quarter rather than provide the barest minimum quality of life features.

corship,

Exactly, why would they even put napkins out if the customers still come.

corship,

Can’t you just redirect your emails?

corship,

The logo in the top left corner

The icons in the dock

corship,

You really should press Ctrl+alt+f3 on your lock screen and get your mind blown.

corship, (edited )

I think you missed the point. Switch the tty to realize your de is irrelevant in regards to security, because you don’t even need one…

corship,

What the duck has this to do with anything.

The entire point is that your DE has NO security features at all, those come ALL from the underlying system such as PAM for example, managing the authentication and such.

These stupid strawmans “huhr dur watch a video”

Besides that I’ll just answer the straw man argument anyway because it’s even stupid if you take it seriously YES YOU DO ACTUALLY LAUNCH GUI DIRECTLY FROM TTY.

And I quote

LoL

corship,

Nvidia?

More like:

Nie-wieder!

corship,
corship,

Then you’re on your own. What the duck 🦆 do you expect to happen if you can’t even invest the 10sec to skim over a message (in the few events that there even is one) to see if it affects you and any manual intervention is required.

corship,

Yeah just like the FORCED Microsoft updates that broke like hundreds of businesses?

notebookcheck.net/Microsoft-reimburses-travel-age…

Dude go touch some grass

corship,

You’re just going to shift goalposts every time I’ll post something.

Not recent enough. Not enough cases. That’s different.

And lastly you’ll just claim I do it because I’m an arch maximalist, despite not knowing anything about me :)

corship,

That would make it steeper, no?

corship,

Well you’ll never get a “fair” comparison, because the environmental effects are never properly priced into the consumer price.

corship,

Actually muscles are what keeps you warm.

The amount of fat required to provide significant insulation is not really feasible for humans with the addition that the feeling of being cold might even be increased.

corship,

NGL withdrawal during a natural disaster sounds pretty ducking dangerous.

corship,

🦆ing

corship,

I’ve installed anaconda packages system wide.

It broke everything

corship,
corship,

What.

So no I do not have an idea since I know nothing about your system/setup.

BUT

I’d strongly recommend reading the documentation libalpm in regards to the nonsense symlink you created:

Hooks are read from files located in the system hook directory /usr/share/libalpm/hooks, and additional custom directories specified in pacman.conf(5) (the default is /etc/pacman.d/hooks).

corship,

Horses - shit everywhere you look

Are phone notification LEDs still a thing?

Looking at all the features that older phones uses to have compared to newer ones, I never hear anyone talk about the removal of the notification LED. I personally really liked that feature, being able to see if I got an email, a text or missed a call without turning on my phone was awesome. My Samsung note 8 had this feature,...

corship,

Notification LEDs kinda only make sense for phones without OLED since you can simply display a notification with minimal energy construction.

corship,

Just read the news from both sides and ask yourself what’s the most logical explanation when you combine those two sources.

It’s the closest you’ll get to an objective truth as there is one in a conflict older that any other conflict I am currently aware of.

corship,

To finally be able to compete in professional sports.

corship, (edited )

I wonder how it’ll end.

At some point both will be so worn out that it has to end, but Ukraine can’t give in because It will cease to exist and Russia can’t give in because the story they constructed historically forbids to loose

corship,

Well blocking these calls obviously inflates the numbers due to retries.

corship,

So why not ask, “hey you want to share some telemetry to help us improve the product” then?

It’s what all reputable companies or projects, I am aware of, do.

corship,

Yeah great idea, let’s bring back bromism

corship,

Lmao, do you manufacture your li-po batteries as well?

corship,

Instructions unclear, dock got stuck in acid.

Jokes aside, my point is the “ermahgerd let’s build some batteries with buckets and wire”

corship,

What would you call sorting?

corship,

It’s a barrier free color scheme. I like it tbh

corship,

None. Custom roms will save your ass.

corship,

Never had a problem tbh.

I even got Google pay to work with the right patches

Mobile ordering and delivery have made food service objectively worse and if you use them I think you're pathetic.

Working in food sucks in general. I would know I’ve been doing it for almost 14 years now. You drive to the store. You enter the store. You order your food. If there are any complications with your order you’re told right then and there....

corship,

Please help me understand. What’s in your opinion the reason why a competitive disadvantage would be this widespread?

corship,

But this is directly contradictory to the statement of op saying offering it actually grinds the operations to a halt resulting in LESS customers being served?

corship,

Then they didn’t lose any business they just served a different customer base.

corship,

Hey my fellow lemming

Here’s my take on your edits: they’re pathetic.
