Is it possible? I’m with sh.itjust.works but I saw a few posts who were saying that my instance blocks certain stuff. Now I’m not thinking of jumping ship right this second just wondering if that is a possibility.
Hello fellow lemmings! Fedora KDE user here, and quite happy about it, it didn’t break a single time and packages are up to date. The only thing that bother me is DNF’s speed… a single search may take up to 5 seconds, and if I’m dependency-hunting I may need several searches, summing up the delays. I’m asking if...
if you has account there, maybe, it depends how good is the cryptograph used in the lemmy.world, but if they got hacked, it’s means that others intances can too, so be sure to always have a different password for every account, and this is a rule to every account in the internet(you can use good and secure password manager)
maybe?, but wihy others didn’t get hacked at the too?, maybe was social engineering, or the admin got their credentials compromised, we can’t be sure yet
probably even the top admin don’t, it’s gonna be encrypted, so even they don’t know your password(except if they changed the code to store it in .txt) but always use differnt password in the internet
I really don’t have a lot of background on cluster munitions; it only really came into my perception in response to the controversy over the US providing them to Ukraine. As I understand it, the controversy is because they often don’t all explode reliably, and unexploded munitions can then explode months or years later when...
that need to be a strong ass gps to withstand the laubch, impact, pression, heat, etc, and it’s gonna cost more, war is always about short-term gains, future problems is for future people, so cheap ammunition is what they want, let the loser bear with the burden of pos-war
honestly, i’m using for a week and i’m a pretty technical person, i always get good results searching about technical issues and linux(thats a pretty niche too) i can’t complain, but maybe with others affairs it’s isn’t so good?, anyway good to know about that shortcut
TL;DR: even if your delete script confirms a full wipe and your Reddit profile page shows zero comment, there may still be comments left over (that you can find through a search engine and delete manually on Reddit)....
I’m trying to understand how an app would even get that info in the first place, how that’s classified and why a mobile operating system even has a way to provide that data....
trans, femboys, furries, etc are the most technical people, every joke has a true behind, why do you think programmers and linux users joke about being femboys and shit
Hey friends! I’m looking to sign up for Mastodon and would love to hear what drew you to the server you are on? Also, what are servers with good reputation?

I think my favorite thing about Lemmy is that it feels like Reddit used to. Less negativity, more engaged users (I think). I know it will be fun to watch Reddit die, but if I put spite aside what I’m really mad at Reddit about is more about what Reddit became and maybe part of that is when the general internet user started...
I’ve been talking to many people about the controversy with Reddit, why I left it and why I went onto Lemmy, Kbin and Mastadon instead. Some of my friends have commented that the control is still a problem as other platforms and it is all dependent on who owns the software, who owns the hardware, who are the admins, who are...
Well the main developers of lemmy and admins of lemmy.ml are communists,
doubt, but even if yes, their are making a free and open alternative to a money grabbing closed source capitalist owned platform, make sense their political spectrum is leftist, but i also agree they need moderators other them themselves

How does an app like Threads get access to financial, political, health, religious or browsing info through your phone's OS. What is the actual source of that data?
