I just wish they would use another name for it, it’s linux here no need to copy windows slang! Or use another color! (I hope they’ll update it to make it a customizable color)
This! I use it since 2021 and even tho it miss critical feature I just want to support the project! If people can donate or create code for it please go ahead!
I want to use Jellyfin on Proxmox, if that is a thing. After reading a post here where most people recommended Debian as host OS I want to make a VM running Debian and install Jellyfin Server there....
My setup: jellyfin in a debian12 LXC installed normally with the official documentation for Debian (no docker) My medias are on a different drive than the OS, i just add a mount point to the container, although, this needs to be done via the CLI (you can avoid the CLI if it’s in the same drive I think, not sure)
Thanks for the downvotes. I need to search questions for an exam I have and I can’t do that any other way. It helps me better search the net. I am sorry, it’s good. I wish there was a FOSS alternative for it which does as good a job. So, here’s how you use Bing Chat on Firefox...
This post started out as a question, but throughout two days of googling it became this compilation of links. I will tell you everything worth mention that I found, share my plan with you, and expect some critics (for the infos of course, please not for the silly hyperactivity of my ADHD brain over such a trivial matter 🥲)....
Particularly kids shows. I’ve found yggtorrents but it takes forever to seed. There’s a season of TV I want to get for my kids but it’s over the ratio I have haha....
I use yggtorrent for all my linux isos needs, but I also use ratiomaster to fake seed as every torrent I ever downloaded never gone up to 0.1 of ratio… so fuck them and fake ratio is the way anyway…
Here is the official link, it is a standalone software. It does not depend on any bittorrent client. Just load a torrent, and change some setting and start “seeding”, by default values are very low so adjust them for your network speed, don’t try and put absurdly high value or it might insta-ban your account on ygg
Actually, you can download more than the default ratio if you have a fast internet connection then you can download everything before the tracker update your ratio
Im using linux for ±3 yrs and im pretty used to it. Im currently running nixos on my laptop. My question is what kind of hardening do i need firejail, apparmor, selinux, … all 3 of them ? none of them ? Thanks for the advice and have a nice day
You can use Lynis to scan your system for settings or weird behavior, it’s pretty useful, some stuff don’t have great explainations however… so you will need to do a bit of research to know why a certain setting should be turn off or stuff like that
Recently, I’ve been using linux(tried multiple distros). I’m curious about how linux works, it’s architecture! Is there a book, guide, video, etc to learn about linux? By using linux, I get to know something. It would be better If I know how linux works!
I think they should try learning the basics with an easy to use and install distro (learning cmd like cd, lsblk, ls, ln…) then if they want more try to install arch Linux using the arch-install, then installing arch linux manually, and the diving into gentoo and then into LFS if they really want the time! (Also, for gentoo and lfs i’d recommend having a really good computer to make compilation time slower!)
If you’re interested, you will learn a lot of things by installing lfs, arch or gentoo, you’ll just learn differents things with each distro and will learn in a different manner, all are interesting imo, but I think it’s better to learn gradually than to learn from the hardest thing (lfs is the hardest in my opinion)

Tags would be cool, but should be set by mods of a community or instance, I think if we let users choose the tags, this might create abuse or problem… or limit 1 or 2 tags per post and each tag with a max number of char maybe? But letting user set tags might be useless as they might not use the same tags when talking about the same topic…
