i am having some interesting modem issues. upgraded from the 14 pro to the 15 pro, i was running ios 17 since the update last monday and didn’t notice anything odd. that being said my 15 pro connection is pretty solid on wifi, so i would normally say you should just wait it out for an update but in this case, assuming you are already running iOS 17.0.2. i would text apple support/visit a store to see if you can get a replacement.

saw a vid with drop tests and then end result was that due to the curved glass, there are more instances where a corner drop lands on glass instead of rail. you slap literally any case on it and it should be fine for regular drops. that being said i always go with monthly AC+ and theft insurance, because i don’t want to be bothered having to worry about it. just walk into the store, show them the screen and they take care of it.
every technology add reduces affordability. the key is to strike the balance between cost and capability.
as ‘safe as possible’ would be provide a car with 6 inches of wrapped armor with it’s own driver service where they pay someone to sit in the car 24/7, and that’s ridiculous. hell, that wouldn’t even save you from the cheapest missile, we’re a long way from ‘as safe as possible’
i would suspect that the increase in affordable autonomous vehicles by forgoeing LIDAR would result in a net increase in lives saved due to more people able to afford autonomous driving. but we’ll never know for sure
If I’m being honest, I don’t understand this angle. Why are stock buybacks immoral or wrong? Isn’t it simply using extra cash in a company to buy back stock from shareholders? I think that outlawing real estate as investments would mean that high to medium density living spaces like apartment complexes or high rises in cities don’t get built, and allowing the government to dole out who gets what properties is another recipe for disaster.
Please don’t take this as confrontational, I’m genuinely trying to consider what alternatives some people are thinking about.
