The Netflix Marvel shows they made had some pretty useless sex scenes that look very weird in Disney’s catalogue these days… And god damn the violence is turned to eleven compared to current Marvel shows! That 11 minute one take fight in Daredevil season 3 is hot as fuck!

Kecessa,

That’s not the part people have an issue with, the part where their users deny genocides, call everyone that has a less extreme left opinion of politics Nazis, end up being so “anti-racism” that they’re racists themselves and take all critics as personal attacks, that’s what people have an issue with.

Kecessa,

I’m a leftist that doesn’t like hanging with racists and totalitarians, that’s why I don’t like them.

Kecessa,

You realise that the instance has open registration that doesn’t require a specific political allegiance? I’m on it because it’s local, I would have chosen any other local instance if it wasn’t this one.

Kecessa,

As is tradition! What’s funny is that they’re supposed to be defederated from my instance so I don’t know why they even see my comments… Their admin even called my instance “sh.itsfullof.nazis” in their defederation message because they were angry that they were confronted to people who disagreed with them when they brigaded our administration communities…

Racism has a definition that’s fairly easy to understand and yes people of all colors can be victims and even people of the same skin colour can be racists against one another because racism isn’t necessarily about the color of your skin, it can be about your ethnicity.

Racism:

prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.

Ethnicity:

the quality or fact of belonging to a population group or subgroup made up of people who share a common cultural background or descent.

If you had taken a crowd of anonymous Germans all dressed the same in 1935, how would you have told who was a Jew and who wasn’t? You wouldn’t have been able to because they were all just white people.

What do you call it when 100 years ago in a first world white country the population that speaks one official language has an infant mortality rate comparable to that of colonial Africa while the population that speaks the other official language and lives in the same cities has an infant mortality rate comparable to any other first world nation?

Was the Rwanda genocide not racism because it was two groups with the same skin colour? What about what happened in Yugoslavia?

My white friend who went to China to study had to sit through multiple explanations by many Chinese student of the levels of intelligence being affected by skin colour and ethnicity and guess what, whites weren’t at the top! “All white people are dumber than Indians who are dumber than Koreans who are dumber than Chinese.” Are you telling me that isn’t racism against white people (and anyone that isn’t Chinese)? Because I sure would hope someone would call me a racist if I was saying the same thing about people of another skin colour or ethnicity!

Kecessa, (edited )

Thanks for providing an example of what I was talking about :)

Kecessa,

You need to learn what gaslighting means before using the word.

*depending on what instance you’re on

They are defederated from a lot of instances, from their own side or the other’s (my instance is defederated from LG and HB defederated itself from my instance)

Kecessa, (edited )

There’s a difference between challenging other people’s opinions and calling them fascists or Nazis just because they’re not at the extreme left.

Even worse, in this very thread I’ve been called a fascist for the sole reason that my instance is sh.itjust.works, one of the bigger instances and one where your political opinion isn’t a criteria to subscribe (especially not when I subscribed, they didn’t even ask for an email!)

Kecessa,

That’s a very mature response

Kecessa,

That’s what we call racism

Kecessa,

I mean, if it was accidental then… Just turn it off and boot back into Linux? You realise you can just turn it off while it’s downloading updates, right? Heck, you can even pause updates long term if you want! 😱 Crazy!

Kecessa,

I never said to do it while it’s in the middle of changing stuff, but if you just booted you can turn it off and nothing will happen because worst case it will just be downloading without installing, as someone else mentioned, once updates are installed you can even turn off without applying updates if you want and you can also tell it to only download and not install unless you tell it to or not download at all.

Kecessa,

A Ram EcoDiesel was still a full sized truck, the Maverick is the logical option, hopefully they release an AWD hybrid version…

Kecessa,

Or me? 🤔

Kecessa,

But your username is the name of a great German psychedelic rock band of the late 60s, early 70s, everyone must recognize you!

Kecessa, (edited )

I’m surprised you didn’t link to Halleluwah!

youtu.be/2dZbAFmnRVA

Kecessa,

The whole German psychedelic rock movement of the 70s is awesome 😘👌

Neu! is one of my favorite bands if you want to listen to another one!

Kecessa,

The problem is that it’s a year on year comparison, they should use a point in time and give a second number that would be a comparison to that point.

cupe.ca/cpi-calculator

From June 2019 to June this year inflation is 15.33%, that’s something people can understand and feel, not 3.1% since last year. It’s also using a reference point that is much more logical, months before a period of international turmoil, it shows us the impact the events of the last few years had and explains why we see inequality suddenly getting much much worse.

Kecessa, (edited )

Year on year only makes sense for economists, it doesn’t make sense for regular people, hence all the comments every time they report the numbers saying “Yeah well my grocery is up X%, rent is up Y%, gas Z%, that’s a whole lot more than what they’re reporting!”

People live inflation long term, not on a yearly basis and those who are lucky enough to be unionized negotiate their wage increase over multiple years, not every year, both numbers are important, it’s still dishonest to only report the year on year increase when people still have it fresh in mind that lettuce was 99 cents not too long ago and it’s been over 4$ for years now, to them inflation isn’t 3%, it’s 400% on lettuce, the fact that it’s stagnated for the last year means nothing on their budget when they suddenly had a hard time buying and they still have a hard time buying it.

Another example, housing is starting to stagnate if not depress in some markets, do you really think that people feel like they can trust economists when they’re told “There’s deflation in the housing market in your region.” when they look at the price of a house that was selling for 300k five years ago when they were ready to buy and couldn’t afford it and that’s now on the market for 800k instead of 850k line it would have been 6 months ago? Sure, year on year there’s deflation, it doesn’t mean shit when you’re trying to purchase a good that you want to own long term and all you see is that you still can’t afford it because wages have been stagnating.

Heck, take actual wages into consideration and inflation is a hell of a lot worse than what’s presented in the news! If prices stay the same but wages go down, it will get reported as inflation being 0% when in fact it’s positive!

Kecessa,

By this logic might as well take last month to compare because it’s even closer!

If you compare the same month because you expect it to be the same annual conditions then you can use the same month two years prior or three years prior… Will you look at that, that’s what I did! June to June, 15.33% over 4 years where you would have expected inflation to be 8.2% based on the BoC’s objective to have inflation at 2%.

I’m not saying year on year isn’t important to report, I’m saying they should report more than just that so people understand the difference and understand why 3% isn’t what they’re seeing.

Hell, did you know they also adjust the goods they use to compare so the 3% might be inside a basket of food but suddenly you’re not buying chicken, you’re buying tofu? Sure that’s what people do in reaction to inflation, it still gives a very skewed view of what the real inflation is. With a fixed basket of goods inflation was higher than 15% in the USA in 2022 and you know what’s funny? Anyone could have told you that the reported number made no sense when looking at the actual cost of living.

I’m still waiting on people “far smarter than you” to come and tell me I’m wrong to find it ridiculous that they only report year on year, funny they’re not here.#

Kecessa,

You forgot Enterprise Season 5?

🥹

Kecessa,

Only if by no you mean yes!

Kecessa, (edited )

Come on, I know Enterprise is your favorite Star Trek series!

Kecessa,

We just dream about it

Kecessa,

Admit it, that was funny 😁

Kecessa,

You must be fun at parties

Kecessa,

Because they needed the tardigrade and then a specific person to make it work…

Kecessa,

The ship was erased from records, the tardigrade found by accident, genetic modifications are pretty much unacceptable to humans… Plenty of other great answers in this thread.

It’s funny how people are able to suspend their disbelief for some extremely convoluted things but for something fairly simple like that? Nah, the show is just bad.

Kecessa,

I think you’re also over analysing and the other person is, simply put, an idiot.

Kecessa,

The rules were so unclear at first that even CRA agents were confused. Pretty hard to charge people for things they couldn’t possibly know were illegal/were told by governmental agents were legal.

Kecessa,

All because Trudeau can’t get a hint and just accept that he needs to give his place to someone else.

Kecessa,

I guess most here didn’t understand Marc-Antoine’s comment at the end 😂

Kecessa,

Like none of the nuts you know are true nuts either.

Found it funny that you then mentioned peanuts which grow in the ground contrary to all other things people think about when talking about nuts.

And yeah, I know I’ll just have blown some people’s mind with that info.

Kecessa,

I think it’s a lot of people because people think they’re nuts because of the name and they never have earth left on them unlike potatoes or carrots…

Kecessa, (edited )

“Do the announcement then leak everything you’ve done so far/make the repository public to make the project open source or only make the announcement once the game is in a state it can be released in” is what you should have said. After that happens you might be barred from working for the copyright owner, but other companies might notice you, like the AM2R guy that got hired to work on Ori 2!

Kecessa,

Where’s hydro? Because it would be a straight line at the bottom…

Kecessa,

But it’s already financially beneficial to the majority! That’s what’s most frustrating to me!

Kecessa, (edited )

Oh fuck off

My mother does 35000km a year and she did it with a Nissan Leaf (250km range) until we moved far enough that she decided to get an i3 with the generator (180km electric + gas generator) so she can do it without having to charge the few times a year she’ll come visit, 95% of the time she doesn’t need gas at all and she only charges at home. Before getting the i3 she was renting a gas car once a year to visit our family just because of one stretch where she wasn’t sure the charging station would work. The Canadian average yearly mileage is less than half of that, it’s just excuses to not change to something new even if it’s better.

Not even going to touch on how wrong you are about the carbon tax because others have already covered that.

Edit: Heat pumps work at temperature under -25 and you can use other types of electric heaters for the days that go under that, no need to use fuel.

Kecessa,

Ford analysed billions of km from their professional users to determine the range necessary on a full battery on the e-transit, they then increased that number by a good margin just in case.

200km. That’s the number they came up with after analysing the habits of people who use their vehicle daily for work and people who take their car to travel 15km to and from work complain that electric cars don’t have enough range with 300km+ available! Heck, you save so much on maintenance and gas that you can just rent a gas car when absolutely required!

Kecessa,

That and they think that if their siblings eats vegetables they then don’t have to eat them themselves, so they prefer to force someone else to eat them in their place.

Kecessa,

🤘

Rock on!

Kecessa,

I think even for EU countries they need to deal with a third party

Kecessa,

Go back, managed to get a limited edition after it told me they were out of stock in my cart!

Kecessa,

Managed to snatch one too 15 minutes after my previous comment 😁

Kecessa,

Yep, I got one too 15 minutes later!
