Domiku,

It says on the store page that it “Requires Base Game.”

Domiku,

I follow him on Mastodon, and I think many regular users misunderstand his specific problems. They’re unique due to his huge number of followers, and I think that if we want Mastodon to grow, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to include more tools for folks with large followings.

Domiku,

That’s fine, but we need to just admit that and stop trying to get the big users to stay by sheer force of will. Either give them the tools they need or accept that Mastodon isn’t for them and that they’ll go elsewhere. You can’t have it both ways.

Domiku,

Clearly they do care though. Look at all of the earnest replies to his posts! If folks didn’t care, they would say as much.

Domiku,

Yes, but it’s just not statistically significant. Unless we see longer-term trends of her follow count, this could easily be a random fluctuation, bot crackdown, etc.

Domiku,

Oh what a treat! Everything up through Halo: Reach defined my teenage years. My friends and I had a blast trying to collect all of the campaign skulls on Legendary difficulty.

Domiku,

If you’re looking for a free alternative, check out how to use Markdown files. Obsidian is a popular (but not open-source) program. The beautiful of .md is that it’s plain text and can be easily imported into a variety of applications, including a simple text editor like Notepad. Here’s a good overview video.

D&D Item Card Template for LaTeX (www.overleaf.com)

Hey there programmers, I know this is a more markup/typesetting deal, but I thought there might be people who are interested. After being dissapointed with many of the options out there for making ttrpg item cards, I made a LaTeX template for that exact purpose. I wanted it to be relatively easy to use, generate clean images,...

Domiku,

It’s a really great system for writing technical documents. I used it a ton in college for my research papers.

Domiku,

I think that if we’re doing real-history FPS games, I would like to see other conflicts. Give me a War of 1812 game or let me play as a Chinese soldier during Japan’s mid-1900s occupation or something.

Domiku,

Can confirm that a certain wonderous game for the Switch now works.

Domiku,

The folks playing Starfield on a Steam Deck must be masochists

Domiku,

They make poor Guillermo take care of their styling.

"It breaks my heart to see children around me strive for a cup of clean water and cannot find it:" Gaza has become a graveyard for thousands of children, Unicef says (www.unicef.org)

Unicef Spokesperson James Elder calls for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Israel-Palestine war. “Gaza must be opened for the safe, sustained and unimpeded access of humanitarian aid, including water, food, medical supplies, and fuel,” he says.

Domiku,

Call anyway! If they don’t feel pressure from their electorate, then they definitely won’t change their stances.

Domiku,

The folks who run the archive website have some weird vendetta against Cloudflare.

Domiku,

Give me that big-box Plytanium!

Domiku,

Some of my household is vegan, and it’s amazing how much things have changed in the last 5-10 years. It’s no longer a downgrade for the rest of us when we cook/bake vegan stuff. Although I still think that the best vegan meals are from cuisines that inherently embrace veganism/vegetarianism.

Domiku,

We have several fully-vegan bakeries around me, and they’re truly indistinguishable. It’s a bit harder for the home cook, but not by much.

Domiku,

Sometimes the buttons are keyed to only go into certain positions.

Domiku,

I love Game Pass, but I don’t like monopolies. I wish regulators had blocked this. Also: theonion.com/just-six-corporations-remain-1819564…

Next week: Google is closing down its traffic light program. It’s Mad Max on the roads now.

Domiku,

Have you tried Swiftfin? It’s 3rd party open source. I find it works much better than the official Jellyfin app.

@steamdeck

Domiku,

I want to rebuy it since it’s such a perfect Steam Deck game, but it’s hard to give up all my progression on Xbox!

Domiku,

I think only from PC Game Pass. I don’t have a Windows machine, although I guess I could dual boot the Steam Deck just to grab the files.

Domiku,

It looks like people are having some success, based on the posts at Proton-DB. I think that rating it as Gold is a little too charitable, though. Lots of people having control, audio, and visual issues.

I made a hidden compartment to hide an AirTag inside my luggage

If you unzip the fabric lining of your suitcase, there should be some screws that attach the handle to the outside. This will commandeer one of those screws to hide the AirTag beneath the fabric lining (but close to the exterior shell of your luggage). Mine is a Samsonite, but I’m sure it works for others as well!...

Domiku,

Everything about Quark is great

Domiku,

These corporate “apologies” always rub me the wrong way. A policy like this had to pass through so many hands before getting certified. You just know that a whole room full of C-Suite executives genuinely thought this was a good idea and couldn’t think through its potential problems.

Domiku,

At this point, it’s just a tradition

Domiku,

According to the article, they’re only discussing the oral medication. Apparently the metabolism process means that almost no phenylephrine gets into the bloodstream when taking orally.

Domiku,

Yeah agreed. For oral meds, I always ask for the real pseudoephedrine behind the counter.

Domiku,

Hopefully this means that a PC release is coming soon

Domiku,

Yes. I can imagine a middle-ground of copyright. If the IP is still being used, it enters the public domain on the regular schedule. But if it’s abandoned, it enters earlier… perhaps after 5-10 years of non-use.

Domiku,

I totally agree, but emulation still requires tons of unpaid work by enthusiasts. If/when Sony stops selling the PS3, they should turn over the source code and allow the community to make something really great. It’s not like they make any money of used console and game sales.

Domiku,

Yup. Never forget who’s really holding things up!

Domiku,

Just a quick correction: Series S is current-gen. You might be thinking of the One S, which is understandable because Microsoft has a monkey coming up with their product names.

Domiku,

I think you’re giving them too much credit 😂

Your original point remains valid though. MS needs to allow devs to adjust games more for the XSX/XSS difference

Domiku,

The only thing I wish Apple Reminders has is the ability to set a recurring task like “30 days after task completion”

Domiku,

I find it to be much more user-friendly than EmuDeck. I also like that it updates with all of the other system software in Desktop mode since it’s a Flatpak

Domiku,

I’ve seen behind the scenes of other Lemmy servers, and unfortunately the base product is really flakey. I don’t envy anyone trying to maintain a server…

Domiku,

I’m glad that one of them is a Bard. Someone needs to play those weird moralizing songs.

Domiku,

I bet you could make a cool game centered around that thematic visual of moving pieces around a map. Or like Ender’s Game style

Domiku,

It’s not a final ruling, but rather a stay to allow the current system to remain in place until it properly comes before the court.

Domiku,

It’s tougher at Publix. They have that southern passive-aggressive niceness in their DNA

What are some game genres / styles you like that aren't being made anymore, or are being mde but not very often?

For me it’s first person puzzle games. I can think of maybe a dozen off the top of my head that came out in the last decade. I especially enjoy when they’re open world. The ability to just quit a puzzle that’s stumped you and go try something else for a little bit is incredibly refreshing.

Domiku,

Check out Clone Hero! I’m away from my computer, but there are archives that let you import all of the Rock Band and Guitar Hero songs. You can use/mod old controllers or even 3D print your own.

Domiku,

I was very pleased with the world-building and lore in Horizon: ZD! The cultures and different factions felt genuinely unique and novel.

Domiku,

And it’s also a sort of punch-up. The ensigns are doing all the hard work, but the officers get all the credit.
