To be clear: I prefer to pay for things instead of having to see ads but 13€ / month!? For a meta product that has inherently user-hostile design patterns even without ads?...
Sure, roddennberry lent it to the motion picture set guys and it was never returned even with gene asking for it directly. No 0 one misplaces ≈50lbs of wood that’s 3ft long and has specific storage requirements.
Historians, like model-maker David Shaw, who wrote a detailed history of the lost 3-foot model, believe that for at least a time, the model sat on Roddenberry’s desk and was his property. They believe Roddenberry loaned it to people working on the production of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, but it was never returned. There is even a record of Roddenberry writing to contacts at the production house inquiring to get it back to no avail.
The heat from those bulbs was used to keep the content over 0 degrees Celsius when the fridge got colder than the set temperature (e.g. very cold room in winter) to prevent the goods in the fridge from freezing.
That’s what I know about this topic. Valid for Germany, don’t know how this is handled in other parts of the world.
No. There is a thermostat for this purpose. You can open a fridge 0 or 50 times per day and it will keep the set temperature (on average). If things freeze in your fridge, it does not mean you don’t open it enough – it’s misadjusted or faulty. And the evaporator (cooling) tubes are in the back wall, on which water condenses and does get cold enough to freeze sometimes. Anyway, the droplets fall into a drain and a narrow tube carries them out, usually onto a little tray on top of the compressor, whose heat helps the water evaporate. Replacing the bulb with an LED has no effect besides decreasing energy usage.
In fact, if an E14 LED burns out, you can often remove the plastic cover, find the burnt LED chip (if that’s what failed; look for a black spot), pry off all its plastic parts and short the contacts by scraping the aluminum/copper pads together with a knife. A soldering iron works better but I cannot bother waiting for it to heat up. Another LED chip will likely burn out sooner or later if it runs hot again but it will not get over 50 °C in usual fridge operation. Check if it fits into the fridge and add an aluminum foil reflector to redirect light if it helps. I did this in some Liebherr, Zanussi and Electrolux fridges, which I believe are also available in neighboring Germany. I use 2~4W “candle” bulbs for this because they are tiny without the plastic diffuser and not great for general lighting in most fixtures. If you don’t have failed LED bulbs, there is a free selection at dm or Lidl near the entrance. Be quick and sneaky but don’t take any CFLs (center of mass or shining a phone flashlight through the milky glass helps reveal a CFL tube if coiled inside). If you accidentally take a CFL or fail to fix an LED, return it on your next visit with an obvious hand movement so that your activity appears legitimate overall.
As there’s only one race, I guess everyone who chose anything but none gets the human race symbol (???) tattoed on their face. Still would be fun to see who chose to have other humans killed.
Now, if the OP in 4chan meant ethnicity, that’s a different story.
The definition of “race” varies widely between different demographics and contexts. In a biological context which you seem to be insinuating, “race” is either nonsensical or an ancient synonym for species.
I really like gnome and how it looks. However every time I try it I find myself in need of more functionality and so I install a bunch of extensions. For example I can’t live without a dock and some sort of system tray that shows which apps are running in background....
Because GNOME is the only DE with some potential and by not having 2 or 3 simple optional features aren’t getting more traction.
But everyone has different requirements and my “2 or 3 simple optional features” that are missing are completely different than what you think is missing. I couldn’t care less about desktop icons or system trays. I even prefer not having a system tray, as this functionality should be provided via notifications and regular application shortcuts in my opinion.
But in the end, a software project only has a limited amount of resources available and developers have to decide where they want to focus on. GNOME chose not to focus on desktop icons:
GNOME had icons, v3.28 discontinued them
Because the code was “old and unmaintained” and probably no one was willing to modernise and maintain it. Desktop icons were already disabled by default before 3.28, so they didn’t “re-invent” this feature with the removal of the code in Nautilus.
Using other DE doesn’t make much sense as you’ll inevitable run in GTK and parts of GNOME and having to mix and match to get a working desktop experience.
I use GNOME and KDE and use the same applications (as Flatpaks) on both desktops: I use GNOME Calculator on KDE, because I dislike both KDE calculators, and I use Ark on GNOME with a Nautilus script, as File Roller doesn’t allow me to set the compression ratio (I need to create zip files with 0 compression for modding games). So for me it has become the norm to mix applications created with different toolkits. Thanks to Flatpak I still have a “clean” base system though.
Btw. I am getting tired of these re-occurring complaints that GNOME works differently than other desktops. I am not constantly complaining about what features KDE is, in my opinion, missing all the time either (e. g. dynamic workspaces, same wallpaper and desktop configuration across all existing and new monitors, online account integration, command line config tool, etc.), instead I accept that this is how it is at the moment and either use KDE the way it is (like I do on my desktop PC) or use something that better suits my needs (like I do on all my laptops).
I think there is no universal answer to your question. It depends on what you are working on, what your tasks and responsibilities are, how much you depend on others' inputs for your work etc.
Getting your first job after getting your degree is arguably the hardest time in your career. Just remember that it only takes one. Keep applying. Get help with your resume. Practicing interviewing and always have an appropriate outfit ready to go. You can do it.
I’m not saying it’s easy nor that you should be overly selective. Your struggles are valid and job seeking blows. But just keep trying. If others have been able to get a job in the industry, that’s a good sign. I know it can be hard to see and compre yourself against, but it does not mean you won’t follow.
Earning a degree is a major accomplishment and one you should be proud of. Loans can seem overbearing and stressful, but if they’re federal student loans, you can get on an income-based repayment plan to alleviate a lot of pressure. If you’re not generating income, the payment is usually $0. Very normal for new graduates and some people stay on them for a much longer time. Do not neglect these payments. Make sure to apply for this well before your first payment’s due date (probably now if your due date is January).
Just keep on trucking on. One day at a time. Your family cares enough to help you out and you’re in a tough spot. Keep trying to improve and it’s likely to happen. Lean on all of your contacts, friends, and personal drive.
just make sure to read the information slip, and at least here in sweden the recommendation is to not treat headaches with pain relievers more than 9 days per month or it can just cause more headaches.
what i go with is just doing what i can to handle the headache/migraine without medicine, but feel 0 guilt about popping a pill if needed. Especially if i’m going somewhere or have something at home i want to actually enjoy i’ll not hesitate to medicate.

‘It’s not you, it’s me’ is the gist of college student qualms with dating apps. Hook-up culture declines while young people search for genuine connection.
My personal experience with these has been even worse than the average, because my demi ass just doesn’t find most of the people on those apps interesting.
After half a year of some activity, I got maybe 2 likes, and 0 matches. Obviously I don’t even know who those people are, because the app doesn’t show me until I pay. Issue is, if I didn’t already swipe on those people, I don’t care who they are anymore.
Ironically, when I checked out the BFF section, I got several pings within a few days
You know yourself better than I do but, is kids really something you want to compromise on? My high-school sweetheart of 11 years said she wanted a kid and was pushing hard for it and I know I wanted exactly 0 kids. I decided to end the relationship since it would be the best for the both of us. Some things people shouldn’t compromise on, you can’t just get rid of a kid if you don’t want it and putting a kid through divorce is damaging.
It’s not that hard to check yourself. Running the following code on my machine, I get that the linear algebra algorithm is already faster than the naive algorithm at around n = 100 or so. I’ve written a more optimised version of the naive algorithm, which is beaten somewhere between n = 200 and n = 500.
Try running this Python code on your machine and see what you get:
<span style="color:#323232;">import timeit
