TDU is alive? Oh shit

Rentlar, in Payday 3’s first DLC [Syntax Error] heist is out now, but it’s not cheap [ $17.99 / £14.99 ]

How long ago did this game launch? Official release in September and 3 months later they’re offering DLC? What are they smoking?

I still hear reports of teething problems with the game and they really are asking people who stuck with them from the start to pay up more? I guess the developers are role playing holding their players hostage in keeping with the style of Payday gameplay.

Rentlar, in [Lethal Company from 115th to 2nd place] "November 2023 Top 20 Titles Played on Steam Ranked by U.S. Monthly Active Users"

Crazy how a stupidly funny C$15 game gets so popular so quickly. I had a good time with it.

averyminya,

My friends and I have been enjoying it too, we only play a couple times a week maybe but man is there a lot of screaming!

Rentlar,

The best moments are when you don’t see your pal, but you know exactly what happened to them from the sounds.

Last night we had a base commander who got us killed because they were too slow at disabling two turrets near the entrance, then they thought they were hot shit and could rescue some of the stuff. Instead they got shot by the same turrets and we lost all our scrap on the final day. That was a laughfest.

averyminya,

Oh gosh, the fading “nooo!” When someone falls is too funny!

One of our best stories was from the delivery planet where we were exploring the area. We went down the ladder to check out the ocean and that walkway down there. We’re all talking and one of our friends goes, “hey guys wanna see something cool?”

We kinda ignore him for a minute and finish our conversation, then we go over to him to hear what he found.

We found his dead body. He fell from the stairs right after he said that and died! We were all stunned, it had been a couple minutes so we just kind of laughed. Decided his sister should give him a sailors funeral and drop his body off into the sea.

So she picks him up and tosses him over. Well, the railing got in the way and stopped him from falling, so she went over the raining and jumped on the pipe. Giving her eulogy, she took a step forward and disappears, dying to the ocean! Gosh we were cackling for hours about that one, sheer gold!

Ganbat, in PC gaming news: Epic defeat for Google, dev. studio mysterious rebirth, free game and more

How the fuck did they beat Google on a platform that allows sideloading, but lose to Apple when their platform doesn’t? Some judges need to be fucking removed.

alessandro,
@alessandro@lemmy.ca avatar

In this case, Google did look more shady than Apple because there were reports of Google pushing developer to not publish on other Android’s store (which is an illegal anti-competive practice Google operate on some of its platform like Youtube etc.). Apple didn’t need to employ such practices because alternative stores on iOS are nearly impossible.

Ganbat,

So Google gets hit for trying to establish a monopoly but Apple gets a pass for having one already established?

Some judges need to be removed.

RightHandOfIkaros,

Its Apple, haven’t you heard? Their $8m is actually worth more like $16m. Some judges clearly heard.

alessandro, (edited )
@alessandro@lemmy.ca avatar

Judges apply law written by your lawmaker. They are not some sort of kings, you know.

Don’t get me wrong, Apple surely is a shit company like many others, but barking at the wrong tree… just help them.

Ganbat,

Uh… What? No. One judge said moving towards this type of control is monopolistic, while another said that already having that control isn’t. They’re applying the same laws, but applied them completely differently. That’s on the judge. And most anti-trust laws are federal, so they would be applying the same laws

PP_BOY_,
@PP_BOY_@lemmy.world avatar

Fuck off I’ll take one win and one loss against the two shittiest tyrants in tech than two losses.

Ganbat,

Yep, better to ignore the judges that let monopolies exist than bring attention to them, right?

Get in line, clowns. 2077 might’ve had a hobbled launch, but y’all squirted at the starting gun and they’ve come around gloriously while you pointed at anyone but the culprit for your full diaper.

Hell, we all knew you were wearing one and we still gave you the benefit of the doubt. Shame on us, for sure, but you’re still walking around like you’ve changed your damn drawers… Nasty.

The way these updates are described makes it sound like the devs asked a load of 13-year-olds what they want in video games.

Potatos_are_not_friends,

Having played it, seems fine to me. Their delivery has been nothing but exceptional.

For example:

“What if you can throw your cult member into jail into old age and then when they die of old age, turn them into worm food?”

Cult of the Lamb devs: “Yeah we can do that.”

Dasnap,

Oh yeah I’ve completed the game myself, it’s just that articles talk about the game in a weird way.

If you have a browser that still supports javascript bookmarklets and are brave enough to trust code from a random stranger online I have a bookmarkelet that I got from a random stranger online years ago that cleans all of that junk from links on the entire page making them safe to click.

javascript:(function(){var%20k,x,t,i,j,p;%20for(k=0;x=document.links[k];k++){t=x.href.replace(/[%]3A/ig,‘:’).replace(/[%]2f/ig,‘/’);i=t.lastIndexOf(‘http’);if(i>0){%20t=t.substring(i);%20j=t.indexOf(‘&’);%20if(j>0)t=t.substring(0,j);%20p=/https?://[^s]*[^.,;‘">s)]]/.exec(unescape(t));%20if(p)%20x.href=p[0];%20}%20else%20if%20(x.onmouseover&&x.onmouseout){x.onmouseover();%20if%20(window.status%20&&%20window.status.indexOf(’://')!=-1)x.href=window.status;%20x.onmouseout();%20}%20x.onmouseover=null;%20x.onmouseout=null;%20}})();
