Such a beautiful game. My wife and I affectionately referred to it as “Rats”. Looking forward to whatever they cook up next, great storytellers.

Well probably have to reboot twice to launch the game.

Anarch157a, in Google is ‘crooked’ and a bully, CEO of Fortnite-maker Epic Games testifies in Play Store trial
@Anarch157a@lemmy.world avatar

What ? stores can’t have profit ? Why not sue Walmart or Target for this egregious practice then ?

I kinda understand that the Apple model of locking iPhones so only their store can exist is, if not ilegal, unethical and immoral, but on Android phones, you can sideload a different store or individual apps. IANAL, but this is the kind of meritless lawsuit that in my country would not only be thrown away but could also expose Tim to sanctions.

Before contrarians come in to say that 30% is too much for a digital store, I work with cloud services (mostly AWS and a bit of Azure), and let me tell you, that shit is EXPENSIVE. Especially bandwidth and storage, which is the two things digital stores use the most, that why I don’t think 30% is too much, it’s basically what they need to charge to cover costs and have some profit to keep investing on the service.

PDFuego, in Valve updates Steam store to bring PlayStation DualSense support
@PDFuego@lemmy.world avatar

I noticed this yesterday when I had a mate over and Hitman was showing the PS prompts, which it didn’t used to I assume because it was spoofing an xbox controller before now or something. Pretty cool I guess. The only thing I’m playing with a controller these days is FF8, which I can’t get to register at all without remapping the buttons as keyboard inputs 🤷‍♀️

Malix, in Review: Flashback 2 [4/10]
@Malix@sopuli.xyz avatar

…huh, I thought “Flashback 2” was released years ago, but that one seems to have been a remake/re-imagining of sorts of the original. And that one was pretty bad as well, it seems.

And wasn’t Fade to black more or less a sequel to Flashback as well? Seems like the Flashback sequels/remakes are fairly cursed… weird.

I do have fond memories of the original, though. Kinda disappointing there isn’t really a worthwhile follow up to it.

Pronell, in Review: Flashback 2 [4/10]

That’s pretty hilariously bad, especially as the only reason I read the review was out of disbelief that it might be a sequel to the 1992 game.

ininewcrow, in No matter how many times they've declared PC gaming dead over the last 30 years, it's kept on kicking
@ininewcrow@lemmy.ca avatar

Or people are just comfortable with what they have and don’t always want the latest, greatest thing that usually costs hundreds of even thousands of dollars these days. I’m perfectly comfortable just playing minecraft on my PC once in a while on my own on a ten year old system that I bought and built myself for about $500 and pay for a $20 game title.

I really don’t care if someone tells me or shows me their $5,000 rig (that they’ll upgrade in a year) that is streaming the latest multiplayer game they spend hundreds of dollars on every year to level up and hopefully become a world reknowned gamer online.

    This is a mod, not gearbox.

    Battleborn was/is a genuinely good game that wasn’t for everyone, but died because most who would have liked it, never gave it a go.

    RightHandOfIkaros, in Flashback 2 – Launch Trailer – Paul Cuisset & Microids Lyon/Paris

    This… doesn’t look like Flashback at all. This looks like it used to be a different scifi game but the developers slapped the Flashback name on top after they got licensing rights or something. There were gameplay elements that do not belong in a Flashback game. Unfortunate.
