Friend got locked out of Instagram account because yahoo deactivated their email. Instagram flagged the email as inactive. After my friend forgot their password, Instagram wouldn’t send pw reset emails even after reactivating the account. They also has no direct customer support whatsoever, so that account was lost.

Same, I made a more professional email address that was easier to tell people over the phone. I didn’t think at the time that my middle initials are A & T.
Now the confusion is I say my email addres is “firstname at lastname @ gmail.com”
After 20-25 years, it’s more or less used for a spam pit and less important things now. No sense walking away from it when there’s no finances or other dangerous things attached
I still use my Hotmail account. I created it 9/12/2001. The shock must have been so great that I needed to make my first email account. Why yes, the handle is related to Godsmack’s second album.
