Fair enough, but wouldn’t that work only once? I’m assuming (perhaps wrongly) that Amazon has some measures in place to prevent people from endlessly starting free trials.
Probably, I’ve not tried as I’m fortunate enough to be able to piggy-back on a “family” account so I get prime without having to give Amazon any money. If you’re alright with jumping through the hoops of creating new email addresses (which is pretty trivial with something like SimpleLogin) then I can’t see any reason you wouldn’t be able to keep grabbing them indefinitely!
There are other Prime Gaming listings in this community, and I already pay for Prime for other stuff so for me it’s an added bonus, as I get to keep it later even if I unsub later on.
Anyway, I wanted to highlight the availability to those who can grab it before it expires.
What’s it like to play? At a quick glance I couldn’t really see what sort of game it is, hence my very vague description of “Japanese-folklore-themed spooky adventure”!
I might have played about an hour of it: open world, go to a location, beat up the evils there, maybe solve a puzzle? Then when travelling between locations you get encounters with more fighting, level up skills and probably story sprinkled throughout.
Got pleasantly surprised, the graphics are very nice and runs very easily, the gameplay feels good, environments are well built and thought out. I’ll likely go back to it eventually
Fair point, but if you’re willing to jump through a couple of hoops you can get it for free. They claim that even if you cancel your subscription you’ll still have the game, so you can get a free trial or join on a friend’s family-sharing to get the game without paying anything.
Doesn't look that great; reading in-between the mostly positive reviews on Steam, it seems a little repetitive on gameplay and the humour level in it apparently is quite cringe/underdeveloped.
I guess notifications for free games are kind of an ad for the platform, but you can just block the community if you don’t want too see them! If you’re unhappy about Amazon in particular then you can create a free trial of prime, grab the games, then delete it. Or just use a Lemmy client which lets you filter out anything with [Amazon Prime] in the title!
Yep. I don’t know that bots are currently parsing Lemmy for keys (esp considering you have to activate that one inside GW2 apparently) but it’s a habit now and I find the game of making a somewhat easy riddle entertaining :)
Hell yeah! Now, I’m all thumbs, but I’m sure with a little trick of the fingers I’ll be able to try my hand at this game, which I’ve been meaning to palm for some time.
