So this started coming up today. On every video. I can (so far) click the “x” and remove it to watch (still see 2 ads before the video, and one after 4 minutes - ruins music on YT), but did click the “Report issue” only for the dialogue box not to work....

There’s a fork that has SponsorBlock integration, fyi. Get it on github and it requires manual updates but auto notifications. You can also use obtaimium to install it, and that will handle updates for you.

Google, apparently, when they bought YouTube. “let’s host terabytes of data and stream it to users for nothing” and then do just that for over a decade before they realized “oh shit, that costs money I guess??”

Google fucked themselves. But it’s not like they can’t foot the bill either, based on their net profits. The fact that they are now telling people that the service they’ve used for nearly 20 years doesn’t want to be free anymore is a valid reason for outrage.

It’s like your partner of 20 years deciding that sex is now a per-month expense, when it wasn’t up to that point. A bit “you fuckin wot m8” moment.

I mean, maybe, but hear me out: what if - crazy idea right here - they finish a fucking project before killing off the old one? Or, even wilder, maybe they improve the existing project? I’m about to blow this ceos mind with these radical ideas.

Maybe not do things like…

  • Gmail to Inbox to Gmail;
  • GPlay Music to YT music;
  • Reader to;
  • Hangouts to Messenger to Alo to Messages to Chat (or whatever the fuck it’s called now) to Messages (but with RCS so it’s okay we improved it we swear) ;

Google is like an adhd teen with no adult supervision or medication. It just decides that project x isn’t fun anymore and abandons it, but y will totally be better except it never is because y gets abandoned too because ooooh shiny.

I’m not angry at all, noooooo. It’s not like most of the projects I used have been axed and replaced (or not) with shittier alternatives. I absolutely love moving friends and family to systems for a few months just to hear about ‘why doesn’t x work anymore’ and ‘you said x would be around for a while’. Fuck you, Google.

Only three of my Twitter porn creators are on bs so far (out of ~100), but one of those is very… important (?) to me. He’s a lanky tall hung uncut sub and nudist. Whenever I check Twitter, I’d always go to his page first.

We only need a few creators like that to tip the scale heavily, imo. Good content, large audience, regular updates, just nudging their viewers a bit.

I hate the way I look, and wish I could change several major characteristics about myself, but it’s also based around what I think everyone thinks about me; and there are a few that think I am attractive, and that (the cliché) ‘you are a very good person and that is a big part of why you are attractive’ (summarized ofc).

I have a couple trans friends, one is my best friend. They came out to me a couple years+ ago, so scared of the reaction they’d get. They told me first, even before their partner (again, scared). I’ve made a few missteps since (deadname x.x), but I don’t care about what their id says or what bits they have - they are a great friend, we’ve made so many awesome memories together. Your friends could be just like me, and they just want to see their friend be happy.

You don’t need a certain figure to “count” or be “desirable”, over the years (I’m 30, for context) I’ve found that my narrow view of what is attractive has expanded quite a lot. There are people who will think you are incredibly attractive, even if you don’t share their opinions about yourself. And with a little bit of time, you can start to see yourself as ‘you’ and not this ‘pinnacle of attractiveness’, because it doesn’t exist.

You mention briefly your weight, too; my friend is well over 200, their partner even moreso, I myself am along the same number as my friend, and my master is quite a bit bigger than I. Like I said, I used to think that I was attracted to just a couple different traits and body types. I still am attracted to those traits and body types, but I’ve found that I really like the person first, and their body and physical traits second. I know I’m not the only one like this, and there are people who want to be with someone like yourself, and they can bring you up and make you realize that you are attractive just the way you are.

You’ll do okay, it will be okay. Keep on the path that makes you happy, in the long run.

I haven’t found a reliable system that gets around activation (had a friend ask me recently) and I personally can’t live with the watermark, but I also have sensitive data on my machines and networks so I don’t risk getting a sketchy iso from tpb with activation nuked.

Actually almost a true transcript for what you get when you call 911 in my metropolis and surrounding areas (I’ve called for family members several times). Then once you finally connect to someone and ems shows up, they can be completely braindead workers; a few years ago I correctly identified that I was having a stroke, got help, they called 911, ems came, and refused to transport for over 10 minutes (so I’ve been told by family) after arrival. I’m now permanently disabled with severe physical, cognitive, and vision losses because literally time is the most important factor. Emergency services can be actually worse than useless.

It would not surprise me in the slightest if they arrive just to say “do we actually know if she is choking? maybe she’s just faking for attention.” or some equally useless conclusion.

I just switched from ddg (after years of using it across all my devices) to kagi, but ddg is good. The results can be iffy at times, especially on unusual or niche queries, but their bang system lets you forward the query to other engines to see if they have the result you are looking for. In my household where I control and direct the tech, ddg has been the standard for many years for all our devices. I recommend it to everyone who is still using a big-name search engine.

<3 RR. I actually suggested to the dev ~last year that he put up a patreon page; I was the first subscriber. I’ve been using it for over 10 years and imo nothing else came close. Eagerly awaiting the update that supports reddit and lemmy.

That’s the plan, afaik. I imagine a drop-down at the top where it says RedReader, and the option of either one. It’s been a couple months since I read that was being planned but you can find the plans on r/RedReader.
