Counter-point: It is the duty of the person to know what they are consuming, though, not the other way around. If we gave every customer at every restaurant a full encyclopedia of what, how, where etc everything that goes into their product, ‘fast food’ would serve like 50 customers a day.

People need to educate themselves, especially when things are going into their bodies. Same as stepping into a street blindly and assuming ‘this cannot possibly hurt me’.

So your argument is ‘I don’t expect it, so it doesn’t happen, but even if it does, it’s not my fault for not reading’? Where else do you get lemonade with ‘coffee extract’? I mean the sign doesn’t explicitly say ‘hey dumbass there’s an assload of caffeine in me’ but with the numbers at the bottom there should be something about it that gives you pause. You have to stand there and fill your drink anyway, why are you not reading during those few seconds?

I am the annoying patreon who asks the waitstaff a bunch of questions to know what I’m ordering, so I’d definitely be like ‘wtf is this funky blt on the menu’. I’m a fatass, but at least I know what goes in my gut before I introduce the two. Ima die early but I’m going to know why I’m dying.

Your drink does not immediately overflow, and even if you have a small cup, surely you turn to face the dispenser and approach it before you fill your drink. If your drink is immediately being filled as soon as you see the dispenser, you may be a wizard.

But to justify reasons to not be educated, especially something as reading a sign is both hilarious and horrifying to know, because I always knew they were around, I’ve just never met one until now.

I did on reddit, but that’s because reddit mods are power-hungry shitstains who will argue that your comment is aimed at the lgbt community, until you direct them to the fact that you are part of the lgbt community, and then suddenly they change their narrative and it’s not, it’s just aimed at women, when I point out that the comment was about my negative experiences with a childhood male ‘doctor’, and then it becomes “I’m not going to argue anymore [because I’ve run out of bullshit reasons to veil the fact that I support this kind of abuse of power as I draw parallels from my mod experience and your pain being valid hurts my microscopic pp and massive ego]”

I’ve had a few run-ins but that was one specifically was fucking wild. Give people a bit of fake power and they lose their fucking minds.

Tbh I don’t trust the police not to cause the same situation, but be behind a bullshit legal wall. I’m gay and disabled, and after the pulse shooting I picked up a basic pistol for self-defense. At least when shit hits the fan, I can be helping myself with a fighting chance, and not be the one being shot at by the ones I asked for help.

As someone with leos in the family, I don’t trust a damn one of them, and my few interactions with them have merely solidified that.

Right sure, but everyone else uses backups for the app data. I can install apps in a couple minutes, but the data takes ages, if the app even offers a built-in ability at all. It’d be like saying ‘I have backups’ but just of your computers operating system and programs, but no personal documents or data. It’s technically a backup, and it’s useful for someone with some use-case, but it’s not the general definition of a ‘backup’.

People have $1,200 phones on financing, buy $5 coffee on the way to work, still drive gasoline vehicles when fuel is $4-6 (in the states) to go ~20 miles, pay $16 for Netflix… like whut? I was getting 7 fps in the main menu before poking at the settings, but my VII is damaged due to a new faulty 1kW psu that suicide-bombed my machine. I’m amazed it works at all, tbh.

Ultra with 1080 and no motion blur (e: and no AA), I’m getting the same as I got in 1 on 1440 (25-30, also with half dead gpu). I have hope that the additional fixes will bring it on par with 1 for fps.

Radeon VII (damaged from a psu failure, though). 1080 ultra, no motion blur, no AA. 25-30 fps, as expected on this card (a fully working one I’d expect ~70, it’s about half dead).

As a disabled dude, let’s have both. I can’t make the short trip to my nearby bus stop, this would be taxes that I would never benefit from. But personal cars or services like these, I can make it down my driveway.

It blows my mind how many people, when talking about transportation, just completely forget that not totally-capable people exist. I guess we are all supposed to stay in one place and never go anywhere due to a physical disability.

I’ll happily vote for taxes to enhance public transport, if everyone votes to keep services like these also improving and growing, especially in areas where municipal services are lacking or completely unavailable. Uber and Lyft were my only access to restaurants and groceries for a time. Shit gets expensive, but it’s better than literally having to beg friends to get my groceries every week.

Just don’t forget about those who can’t enjoy the infrastructure.

My current one does, but only goes to city limits, which isn’t very useful (my doctors and such, for example, are a city over). My prior one, you had to live within half a mile of a traditional bus stop. I was just out of the ‘service range’, at like 0.65ish miles away.

Taxis are expensive away from a metro area (or ‘we don’t go that far’ etc), unfortunately, and trying to travel a short distance made them even less economical. U/L was the best way that I could get around without massively tanking my bank account, and still finances were a death sentence in that living situation (living on $600ish a month - housing, utilities, food, medications… - was a recipe for disaster; such is life).

The idea is to improve them for future use, of course they aren’t a current drop-in we’re-done replacement.

I turn 31 next month; I’m a stroke ‘survivor’ (kill me) who completely lost the fine motor control of my right arm, hand, leg, foot, toes/fingers, a quarter of my vision in both eyes, ~90% of my nerve response on my right side of my entire body, as well as a few other things. Literally getting down the road to the bus stop 1/8 miles away would take 20 minutes, be immensely difficult and tiring, my pulse would be 130+ the whole time and say if I’m going to go to a store and buy something, I can’t because my one operable hand is holding my cane to keep me stable. I tried, so fucking hard, to continue ‘normal’ life. I despise what has happened to me and the fact that I will never, ever be whole again makes me regret calling help when I realized what was occurring. I live every day in hell, in a prison created by my own stupid body, and it will be like this until my premature death.

It’s the hardest thing in the world to just get to the transportation. I hate that I’m saying it, but it’s absolutely true :(

I’m not saying it’s the best answer - fuck, I’m trying to get back to driving, it has always been a huge part of me, my happiness, my enjoyment of life - but at least it can help people like me until something better comes along.

A couple, but they aren’t local; I’ve used a Google Daydream that I own, hooked to my computer via a program (name escapes me atm, icon was a cat I think). Though the daydream with glasses on is, uh, undesirable you could say.

I play games on pc/kb+mouse like Forza, BeamNG, older NFS games (nostalgia), etc and I’ve also been able to mostly play games like Halo or Payday by using a mouse with additional side buttons, making the mouse the primary input (wasd via mouse is interesting). I plan on picking up a wheel/pedals soon, just financial obligations has me waiting on that.

Between getting my license and the stroke, I put an average of 30k miles on vehicles per year. Driving is an escape for me (more life bs I won’t bore you with) and it’s just so freeing. Plus I love to explore, so they go hand in hand.

Yeah, I roll with NextDNS + Iceraven with uB, and + (at home) I also run a secondary DNS check locally on my router for adverts (and other categories), in the unusual chance that either uB or ND let one through. I have built this dome around my/family’s devices, but I get that it’s tedious and many don’t understand how to do this, but want to get the benefit. Plus in this particular instance, I find it really cool how the Kagi ai tool works (I’ve used it a few times myself when I don’t want to read a novel-worth of an article) and I’m paying for the privilege anyway so why not share the output.

Just wanted to help out a little :)
