I stopped reading at this point; that entire sentence is completely backwards, even with edits. It should be something like ‘make it more difficult, if not impossible’ not ‘impossible, if not more difficult’.

I recommended my father get one after his current laptop’s speakers blew out. He didn’t want to wait for Q4, so we went with my 2nd recommendation, a ThinkPad.

The first two were defective (the whole model line is - overheating to scalding temps, not going to sleep when the lid is closed, not sleeping/infinite loop when manually told to sleep or by the OS idle time), the third (different model) arrived without a fucking w11pro product key. Are you actually fucking shitting me. Their solution for that was either a new machine (custom machine, almost 4 weeks lead time) or a new mobo. I figured they would put the key in the board, and we didn’t want another 4 week wait, so I went with the board swap. Guess who didn’t enter a key into the bios? The tech didn’t have one, was just told to swap boards.

We are expecting a framework in Q1 now.

Oooh, wolves! I’d love to get close and pet them, be affectionate, though I would probably become their snack. Might still be worth it though. Always been something I’ve wanted to do; canines in general are so fascinating to me, and domesticated they ofc can be wonderful companions. I’ve had a few dogs as pets, and while I really like them, I am an emotional wreck when they pass. It’s one of the things that keep me from another; it’s just so immensely upsetting. Hope these two are enjoying their time.

And what a gymnastic kitty! My knees ache just thinking about a jump that high. Imagine that power but focused horizontally!

Can confirm, it sucks ass being hot all the time. It’s still triple digits temps outside in fucking fall, and my ass is a space heater. It’s hot everywhere, all the time. Only when it’s like the low 70s that I’m comfortable. If I do any movement though, I’m sweaty again. It has to hit 40s for me to not be immediately hot with activity, and by that time it’s too damn cold.

Having a family member in the force (USA but), I totally agree. I don’t trust them to arrive with any speed, let alone deal with an active problem in a safe or sane way. They all have a dick-measuring problem, and have to prove themselves.

All emergency services are questionable where I’m at, so I assume whoever eventually shows up will do a shit job. ‘if you want it done right, do it yourself’. At least I won’t try to shoot/beat/assault myself in the process.
