dev’d an online course web app and website for a community college. users/activity was very cyclic. could see the hits going up every Sunday night as students tried to catch up before Monday class. usage normally dropped around weekends/holidays. maybe similar surges depending on time of day.
marketing and bean counters drag down every good idea. That and the belief all the world’s problems can be solved in one paragraph. I used to return a 5 second sleep for bad login attempts. Just to slow down the bots trying to brute force a login. video over increasingly cheap bandwidth for a screen the size of a postcard will soon be replaced with a simpler solution. This is progress. another one bites the dust.

I usually tell reporters to down-vote and scroll. Not clear how downvote effects lists but I only remove obvious spam or off topic. Created a few communities when this place was a ghost-town and 2 days later the reddit hordes arrived. smh. No way I’m screening every post now. up/down votes should count for something.

fta, to be clear, it was a trailer. 8 wheels landing legs. ‘overflow lot’. I used to ‘play’ in and around empty parked trailers. Thing is there is usually only one way in/out, so not that great for hiding in when fleeing and eluding.
