thisbenzingring,

Total support from up North in Washington State.

Union Proud!

thisbenzingring,

I found the HPB

thisbenzingring,

It’s an old school diss

High ping bitch/baby

I was one of the first LPB (low ping bastard). Back in the 90s, some servers would just flat out ban you if you were one or the other. I was very competitive in Quake/Halflife/Counterstrike and even had a shirt with the Ethernet symbol and LPB under it. I fucking loved that shirt.

I was i.am/zzottt if anyone remembers the first days of Counterstrike

thisbenzingring,

I worked for the hospital system… I only remember dreading tomorrow and wishing for a moment to catch my breath. I didn’t really get to work from home and I rarely got time off outside of my schedule.

It sucked! I didn’t even get to enjoy other people’s enjoyment 👎

thisbenzingring,

I was part of a skeleton IT crew, we couldn’t fill positions and ran most of the pandemic with only half of the fte positions filled. I was able to move on to a better position and I’m friends with those folks I worked with. We will probably always be close, we lost 5 employees to COVID and we all bonded from the life and death experiences

thisbenzingring,

It was my honor to server in what way I was able to. Thank you.

thisbenzingring,

the best source of real journalism in Seattle is www.thestranger.com

thisbenzingring,

Dan Savage is one of the main reasons that it’s known far and wide. I’m proud to have shook his hand once.

thisbenzingring,

If the only choice is Bud Light, I will just have water. Bud Light and Coors Light are just the worst beers I can imagine. Not even worth considering. I’d just as soon be 100% sober then drink one.

thisbenzingring,

PBR has a very distinct flavor. Its not great but its fine.

The best thing about a PBR is, if you don’t finish it… oh well

thisbenzingring,

Miller Lite is fine. It’s not great its just fine. Even says so on the label!

thisbenzingring,

Accessable and low carbs.

thisbenzingring,

The worst beer is called Name Tag from Trader Joe’s. I couldn’t even finish one as a joke. I thought it might have gone bad so I opened another and it was the same. I ended up tossing the whole 6 pack. Some beer is crap and I’m just not that desperate.

thisbenzingring,

When I was young life was pure chaos. It was a constant battle and I often looked for things that would ground me and let my mind rest for a bit. I discovered the Peter Gabriel song Washing of the Water. I really liked how he sang it and so I memorized the words. They are good and when its a very dark time for me, the words are a great way for me to gain a little mental peace.

The whole song is beautiful. The perfect balance of wanting calm in hard times and finding peace in the nature of things piped.video/watch?v=Ic4N6rT6Qks

thisbenzingring,

May I suggest a reading of the Voltaire book Candide? Phrases like “Everything will be ok” or as the book often suggests “all is for the best” in the “best of all possible worlds” will take on a whole new meaning.

The book is funny most of the time but it has a very sharp cynical edge about life and positive thinking and how it doesn’t mean much in the face of most life changing events.

Does the USPS, FedEx and UPS give a crap about weed shipments since Hemp sprayed with the same terpenes and looks the same as weed has been shipped legally for 9 years now?

Even if they did, won’t they get a lot of false positives because of a large amount of it being sprayed hemp buds that are legal as hemp? Also, I know a lot of dispensaries get their stock like vape pens and such delivered this way already. How does that all work?

thisbenzingring,

I recently learned that its pretty normal to order weed online to have it delivered in Canada. Lucky bastards…

thisbenzingring,

I fucking hate the changing of the clock for the season. I wish it was banned across the planet. It’s stupid and statistically shows it’s bad for traffic, deadly to older people, especially men, and generally bad for businesses.

thisbenzingring,

Statically men have more heart issues in the days following the time change

thisbenzingring,

Sun Ra is fantastic. Punk Jazz

thisbenzingring,

Saturday night un my hometown!

thisbenzingring,

I watched someone beat it… but no I was never able to do it

thisbenzingring,

When the small grocery store in my area got Super Mario Brothers there were always 4 or 5 people queue’d up and playing it. That store was a basic grocery story but they did cater to youth with expendable change. Lots of the bulk candies; a few different kinds for 5c, better ones for 10c, good mini candies for 25c… etc

Before or after school, that place always had kids spending some change on something. Once the NES became a household item, that store changed dramatically

How Russian Propaganda Built an Alternate Reality in Occupied Ukraine (www.themoscowtimes.com)

For those mentally strong enough to live through the traumas of war and occupation and still resist, the Russians have other methods besides propaganda. The occupying forces do not try to hide their brutal torture chambers, kidnappings of Ukrainian children, and summary executions from their new constituents. Everybody knows the...

thisbenzingring,

Good. Maybe this will actually force them to consider that Russia is going to be set back for decades and be isolated from the rest of the modern world

thisbenzingring,

I dressed up as a girl once for Halloween. I am a CIS dude and it was a very illuminating experience. The worst part of it was I must have awakened something in one of the people at the party because that dude would not leave me alone.

Drunk dudes that won’t leave you alone and start crossing the line? I will never forget.

No means No dammit.

thisbenzingring,

I have had that experience, sure. But it didn’t cross the line because if I said no and left the room it was over.

thisbenzingring,

I love Jarvis, he is such an interesting character. The song Fat Children is a great from that album.

But This is Hardcore was a peak 90’s moment. The world of my memories will always find that time to be my salad days. I listened to that album a lot after a breakup with my first love and it was my therapy whenever I was depressed.

thisbenzingring,

Hopefully those lucky bastards decide their luck can’t last and they defect.

thisbenzingring,

A properly configured No-Script and Firefox works wonders, I don’t even need an adblocker but I use Ublock when my normal setup doesn’t work right.

thisbenzingring,

until everyone has a chance to become one of the 10,000

thisbenzingring,

Piped is my go to now. It is a great interface

thisbenzingring,

For an extreme example, theres a picture of Churchill and Hitler standing near each other

thisbenzingring,

Sorry to hear it man.

You are a good friend for thinking of them like this. In the old times it was thought that you would think of the recently diseased for a few days so they would see the path to find the other world. Because if we are sad they left and their kin are waiting to welcome them, their path would be brighter if they were missed. So when the mourning days were over celebrate them going home. We should all sing our death songs like warriors going home.

thisbenzingring,

Dude was a icon of singularity. Rare is it to have such an affect on your chosen profession. Forever much respect. His movies hold up to time and are full of so much influence. I am glad he lived a long life. Dude will forever be an icon of bad assery!

Fellow Extreme Weather Lemmings, what are your Buy it for Life winter boot suggestions?

We got my husband some Helly Hansen boots the year before last and we noticed a hole in them last year. I am right pissed. If I’m dropping hundreds of dollars on boots, I expect to get my money’s worth. What are your awesome boot suggestions to help me do just that?

thisbenzingring,

I’m a big Solomon brand fan. Idk if you can buy it for life winter boot and use it too but the Solomons I have had wear well and last as long as I have expected them to

thisbenzingring,

These people do not care about the environment. They don’t care about social debt to the workers. They especially do not care about ethical behavior.

thisbenzingring,

She suggested you take one of those little blue pills

and then handcuffs you to the bed

And then…

thisbenzingring,

The Beatles Maxwell’s Silver Hammer

I cannot tell you how much I hate this song. And to think that it was the catalyst that was the final straw for Lennon and killed the band. There are other Beatles songs that I hate but this one rises to a whole new level.

thisbenzingring,

Maybe its your fault you cant see anything but Americans talking about America.

thisbenzingring,

more like there can never be true capitalism under democracy
