While your arguments are valid, the reasoning behind them isn’t Linux’s fault. Entire industries latched on to single pieces of software 30 years ago and have gone out of their way to keep it way. You either give up the convenience and routine of the Microsofts and Adobes of the world and start fresh or you continue to be at their mercy while pointing out the flaws of a system you participate in that creates those flaws.

Heya! I’m looking to install Linux for the first time on parts from my old pc builds to use as a media centre and multiplayer gaming system in my living room. Something with as clean as possible interface with room for customization would be cool. Oh and support for my old nvidia gpu....
Steam takes forever to start (5-10s) on AMD ryzen 9 7950x, it’s not automatically started on boot. Closing also takes a few seconds. Could that be due to sloppy programming? I am a programmer myself.
If you use Linux to edit audio, mix songs and work with audio in general, including having trouble making certain audio hardware work, it’s your chance to join a community effort to make Linux audio creation better and more accesible....
I think the real issue with audio work on Linux is the complexity of getting things working. MacOS and Windows are both much easier to work in with dealing with audio stuff and much like Adobe 's stranglehold on potential converts having to jump through so many hoops for an arguably worse experience really keeps some people at bay.
Oh yeah you’re right there, but what I’m getting at is having a system that does everything you want is, I would assume, preferred. I run Pop and have it setup with my Audient EVO and it works well with Reaper, but getting it to that point was a pain.
So…I have an…interesting behavior I’ve never had before with an Nvidia or integrated intel chipsets…I have now my AMD card plugged both to a normal HDMI monitor, and then to another HDMI TV. Both work well. However, when I turn the TV off… The monitor will start flickering. About three flickers every minute or so....
