the_q,

People sure love yucking other people’s yums.

the_q,

You like Trump too, eh?

the_q,

Then why bother giving your opinion? Look at your downvotes. We don’t agree with what you’re saying.

the_q,

You should work on your typing and grammar.

the_q,

This dude is spamming like the world’s ending.

the_q,

You nailed it with the “I haven’t had this much fun with a PC” line. Switching to Linux reawakened my love of using a computer, not only as a tool for creating but as a genuine interest in itself.

Enjoy and welcome!

Elon's "extremely hardcore" toxic work culture means people are forced to take Adderall without a prescription to meet their workload. Just ask SpaceX employees.

"Some SpaceX workers resorted to taking Adderall to keep up with the pace of work at the company's launch facility, and others found themselves falling asleep in the bathroom during long workweeks, a recent Reuters investigation found.

"Travis Carson, a former SpaceX worker at the company's facility in Brownsville, Texas, told Reuters some workers took Adderall — a stimulant designed to help people with ADHD improve their focus and concentration levels — without a prescription to keep up with the pace of work."

What a nightmare!

the_q,

It is though.

why do some people really dislike google??

i don’t want to offend anyone, but some open source/privacy enthusiasts dislike google, but why?? google has made chromium, android, etc and most of the things they do are open source, and not only that, they also support creative commons media or public domain. i know the privacy concernes they may have, but they would never...

the_q,

Seems like a KDE fan is mad.

the_q,

Chris Pratt is gonna be Link, right?

the_q,

We can’t. People like to think it’s possible by voting in the “right” type of person and things like peacefully protesting etc. The truth is that it’s a lost cause. We can’t make the changes necessary to fix the planet, stop the ultra rich or any other large scale issue. I know I sound defeatist, but it’s true. Short of bloody violence we’re stuck like this.

the_q,

Well you’re wrong then.

the_q,

Sorry. We’re stage 4. It’s terminal.

the_q,

Lol the best we got… like we can’t come up with something new or try something different. Please. Capitalism is in place because the people in power love it. It’s the best system for them to continue to suck everything and everyone dry.

the_q,

Lack of resources isn’t the reason everything is shit. If we get to space it’ll just be another exploitable thing for the ultra rich to use to get more rich.

the_q,

How’d they not know?

the_q,

Does Google still receive a substantial chunk of their income from actual use of their search engine?

the_q,

Lemmy isn’t getting toxic. You’re just seeing that people don’t like or agree with your right-wing BS like they would on other sites. You’re the problem.

the_q,

This will be hard to answer because everyone is different, particularly how they react to meds. You can keep a daily record of your mood when you switch over to try and track its efficacy and to monitor side effects though. That can be helpful to both you and your doc.

Good luck.

the_q,

Get this racist shit out of here.

the_q,

Babies suck. We don’t need em.

the_q,

The capitalism is strong with this one…

the_q,

You mean like how it is right now?

the_q,

Or those that are able to farm can do that and provide the food for those that can cook and provide that for those that can build who can provide that for those who can sew etc etc and all that can be shared with those who can’t do anything because at the end of the day a person’s worth should not be determined by what they can provide.

the_q,

God damn you keep showing up here with the dumbest fucking, capitalism teet sucking takes. We get it, you love Elon Musk.

the_q,

We have more food than we know what to do with and people are still starving. Growing your own food provides a reward someone like you not only can’t experience, but if you did you wouldn’t be able to understand it.

the_q,

Ah the ol “I’m just asking questions” defense.

Look, you’re acting under the impression that I’m trying to convince you of something when I know you’re not capable of having your opinion changed because you’re sure you’re right. The Internet is full of people like you. You read an article somewhere or mirror others like you who talk about the proper ways to argue, again with the goal of defending your awful takes instead of entertaining learning new info, but the truth is you just like to argue.

the_q,

What’s to discuss? We live in a society that you’re describing and it’s awful for most people. You defeated yourself.

the_q,

What’s wrong with doing what’s fun? Necessity is an interesting motivator. The problem is when capitalists commoditize necessity.

the_q,

Squirrels don’t have jobs. There isn’t some overly complex system in place to keep the raccoons doing a repetitive task to ensure that hollowed or trees are available to them. The spiders don’t own those trees and almost exclusively benefit from the raccoon’s labor.

Human society should absolutely collapse if it can’t exist without all the inequality and suffering.

the_q,

You’re wrong though. You’re saying the way it isn’t can’t work while living the way you’re describing and it not working. No discussion is needed.

the_q,

Sounds about right. You vote Republican, right?

You poor soul. You’ve been indoctrinated so hard by capitalism that you can’t value a human life if that life can’t give you something.

I hope you don’t have pets.

the_q,

Inequality, poverty, starvation, suffering, war… C’mon, man. These are issues that don’t need to exist, but do so in order to keep certain people in power. It’s all part of the machine.

You don’t need to discuss whether the sky appears blue because we know how sunlight interacts with our atmosphere. The same is true for this issue.

the_q,

You’re right. We aren’t those animals; we’re apes. Still animals though. Animals form communities. They feel emotions. They have problem solving skills. They communicate. They also can deviate from observed behaviors when food and safety are readily available. You don’t think that’s relevant? Hmm… That says a lot.

There are plenty of humans who are in intense life or death competitions with each other. What you mean to say is that you’re happy being male, likely white and have McDonald’s within driving distance.

the_q,

Alright. What needs to be done?

the_q,

?

the_q,

What’s finite about seeds?

Yeah a lot of your responses are basically “I’m going to disregard this because it doesn’t fit my view.”

the_q,

How old are you?

the_q,

Go ahead and list a few.

the_q,

Man, listen… I mean what I’m about to say… You need to talk to a professional.

the_q,

Well any concern I had for you and those around you is gone now.

the_q,

You expect me to feel bad for saying something to you about a worry I have about how you view life while also having posted that you have no issues with legal murder and killing animals? Hmm… maybe you’ve had enough Internet for today.

the_q,

Alright look… I’m sorry our discussion got heated. I’m sure you’re doing the best you can just like me. Let’s agree to disagree about the meat stuff and I’m sorry for insinuating you might be a sociopath. That was wrong of me to say. I hope things get better for you.
