    • It was open-sourced a long time back after the dev felt the number of users who bought and the amount of time he spent didn’t feel profitable.
    • I tried using it, but stopped moving all my financial data as it can’t handle multiple currencies.

    I would say amazefit is the better option, check the compatibility with gardggetbride before buying.

    I bought an Amazefit bip 3 years ago and am using Master for Amazefit, sadly the developer stopped updating the app. The watch/band supports only step counter, heart rate measure, sleep tracking. So, whatever options the app provides work fine for me.

    I need to look for other app options when I upgrade.

    I use Google sheets on my personal projects.

    • tracking expenses
    • tracking my ride logs from my ev

    Google app script pickup email received from banks and update the transaction automatically. I modify it using web based form of needed.

    The ev company has api. It will be called on periodic basis to get the ride details and update the sheets. I use telegram api to interact, by triggering the api webhook, getting charts, etc.,

    Initially I setup OCR to extract the ride information, so the process was like

    • send an image that has ride details to a telegram bot
    • the bot saves the image in Google drive
    • the image would be opened in docs
    • the text would get extracted and stored in Google sheets as data
    • edits can be done using telegram webapp
    • sheets provide charts for analysis
    • built a process using sheets to handle telegram bot for maintaining users, approvals, etc.,

    It would be hard if I have used any other services… setting up OCR preparing charts etc.,

    Was an AVP in a bank moved to a different company to work as a software consultant with a 10% hike. I would be earning more than what I’m earning if I had stayed, but I’m happy now.

    The company I worked for had installed software that tracks keyboard and mouse movements, it considers I’m idle if I don’t touch them for 180 seconds. Sometimes I lose more than 50% of the time because of attending meetings, it would report I was unproductive.

    It always gave me a feeling like someone constantly standing behind my back and watching.

    I usually work fast and complete things well in advance and spend time in the thought process of solving problems and enhancing existing process. Though I delivered more than what was expected from me, I was feeling insecure by someone gauging my performance by the amount of time I spent on computers.

    About electric vehicle. If you add the maintenance cost for battery, how does it fair compare to gasoline vehicle? On cost we have to pay.

    I heard someone said that, at the end EV will cost you almost the same as gasoline vehicle, if you have to change the expensive battery every so often. Can someone please give me more info on this? Thank you so much.

    Perspective from India:

    28% GST for spare parts of electric vehicles and the companies play monopoly by raising the price of the spare parts by 5x to 10x.

    If we don’t use original parts sold by them and do maintenance outside the vehicle will not be covered under warranty.

    There were many fire accidents due to the hot climate, which requires the warranty in place.

    It’s kind of a nightmare to own an electric vehicle in India.

    It’s good for someone who drives for more than 50km in a day. They can save on fuel, which will be higher than all other costs. The fossil fuel is 10x higher covering the same distance in an electric vehicle.

    The cumulative interest is calculated at month level, I guess calculating at day level would be overall kill.

    Transactions:

    • Date: Transaction date

    • Amount: the amount you like to deposit and withdraw (deposits in +ve and withdrawals in -ve)

    • Comment: Any comments if you want to put

    • Month: derived from the date col - used in the Monthly summary sheet

    • Year: derived from the date col - to get per day interest rate

    • Days: derived from the date col - to identify the number of days to apply interest

    • Interest for days: Calculated interest on the month of deposit / withdrawal.

    • The first 3 are inputs and remaining 4 columns are to be copy/paste from previous row.

    Interest Rate:

    • Year: Just the year
    • Interest Rate Per Year: Input the interest rate per year
    • Interest Rate Per Month: Interest Rate Per Year / 12 months
    • Interest Rate Per Day: Interest Rate Per Year / number of days in a year
    • The first two columns are input and remaining 2 columns are calculated

    Monthly Summary:

    • Month: Year and Month (the date is always 1 - check the formula bar). This is used to calculate cumulative interest and to get the deposit / withdrawals.
    • Opening Balance: Closing balance of previous month
    • Deposit / Withdrawals: Sum of deposit and withdrawals in a month - comes from ‘Transactions’ sheet
    • Interest for deposits/WD: Day level interest calculated for the deposits and withdrawals for each month. This also comes from ‘Transaction’ sheet.
    • Interest on balance: This calculates the cumulative interest portion. Interest rates are taken from ‘Interest Rate’ sheet at month level.
    • Closing Balance: Sum of all the above.
    • No inputs are needed in this sheet.

    Bringing a used laptop will not be an issue. I have asked my friends to buy a new mobile phone and brought it to India with 0 customs tax. But check if they are okay to carry 1kg as she may plan to carry full luggage limit.

    But, spend a little more and buy a better one. $30 is what 3% of the air ticket price?

    We need to see the trend from 2019 to till date. There was a pressure to buy phones & tablets to attend online classes during covid. Almost every house would have an extra mobile phone, there is no surprise the sales decline.

    Also the OEMs increase the phone price every year, it could be another reason.
