onelikeandidie,

Kdenlive is great, I’ve been editing a lot of my videos on there and some shorts on YouTube. It’s got a pretty unappealing UI but one you get to know and figure out where everything is you can get some content out :)

onelikeandidie,

I can actually confirm this a little, when Elden Ring came out, it ran really poorly on Windows so rebooted to my Linux os and was getting a solid 15-25 more fps. It even made one of my friends install Linux just to get the performance boost.

onelikeandidie,

As a preheated oven, I can confirm this

onelikeandidie,

Colourblind people can’t pass this test

onelikeandidie,

Great game either way, my wife played it and after completing spent the rest of the day depressed :)

Decent YouTube client?

I’m looking for an app to browse YouTube using multiple accounts. It has to be convenient to switch between multiple accounts, and keep them separate. I’ve struggled to find a YT client that does this well, most of them seem to advertise “Use YouTube without an account”. I’d look on the app store but frankly the play...

onelikeandidie,

I second this, grayjay.app is great. It does break TOS but you don’t have to login to the app, you can just add your subscriptions over and boom. It’s not FOSS but it’s not really too much of a problem since it’s supported by an organisation focused on decentralizing the big tech (FUTO) so I think it’s pretty safe to support using the app.

onelikeandidie,

Well they want to keep the code under FUTO licensing but maybe we can hope they switch to GPL-3 :)

onelikeandidie,

EasyAntiCheat is the biggest problem on Linux, I have to boot to my windows install just to play The Finals and Hell Let Loose… It’s such a shame cuz I think the developers can enable a setting to let it run on Linux but then that would mean they would actually have to support players who are playing on Linux and that’s too much work for big corpos

onelikeandidie,

Omg it wasn’t like this a while ago, I can’t belive it! I’m going to reinstall it to play as soon as I can. Needing to reboot to windows just to play is the reason why I play Battlefield 1 a lot more. Thanks :)

onelikeandidie,

I agree, the tight deadlines make them copy paste and progressively increase the assets size without any eventual cut down on unused code or assets.

onelikeandidie,

I second this, I use syncthing for phone camera to pc and laptop and have never had a problem. It’s almost instant too, it’s kinda nuts that it doesn’t even need Internet to connect between devices. I a world where everything needs an account, and tracking, syncthing is a simple grace I take for granted

onelikeandidie,

You can make it so that you can have a folder ignored by your syncthing on your computer called something like backup but have your phone still recognise that folder as not ignored. Then when you want to delete a photo in your phone, just move it to that folder, wait until it syncs and then delete it. Your computer should not delete the photo since it ignores any changes in that folder. I’ll test this when I get home if you would like?

onelikeandidie,

That’s sick, I didn’t know that the jak and daxter seriers had their own language and engine to make the game. It’s amazing to see an open source reverse engineer of this that ports the game into a fully native game.

onelikeandidie,

Thanks for sharing, it looks like a good desktop wallpaper

onelikeandidie,

I agree with you, I saw people on twitter once talking about this. Pretty disgusting to even consider.

onelikeandidie,

Import? Arrrr, we better plunder those guides for ourselves

onelikeandidie,

When you type in www.example.com, you request the IP of the server for that site using a DNS server. The DNS server sends you the IP and then you connect to it. If they are using https for DNS it means that your ISP or onlookers have to reverse which domain you’re accessing from that IP to know that you’re accessing www.example.com.

At least I think that’s what is happening.

onelikeandidie,

I love Bevy, I made a lot of little things that I loved to program. I’ve never developed such deep love with a programing paradigm. But recently I moved to Godot and actually started finishing projects. When I was using Bevy, I kept making tools, loaders, engines, formats just to make it possible to load into what I envisioned but never finished anything. In about 45 minutes I made multiplayer pong in Godot with different maps and game modes, lobby screen and main menu, what took me a couple of weeks in Bevy with UDP packet design and several iterations.

When I program in Rust, I go for perfection. When I use Godot, I actually finish stuff. Only realize this a bit late now.

For reference, I write custom applications for Shopify, including cart extensions in Rust using Shopify Functions and maintain a block-based blog manager that integrates with Shopify in PHP as well as several micro services in Node.js for other integrations.

If someone could tell me where it went wrong, please do, I love Bevy but I can’t use it effectively.

onelikeandidie,

I’ve been playing league on the steam deck using lutris for over a year now, it was literally a 1 click install!

onelikeandidie,

That’s a lot of copy pasted buildings, sheesh

onelikeandidie,

I can only imagine “man I wish there was a bathroom in the middle of this corridor” and the result is what we see here

onelikeandidie,

Wait what between classes? 🤔

onelikeandidie,

Although I think duckduckgo did a better job, I still don’t understand what is infuriating about this one. Google Search just wants to priorize showing you an excerpt from what you are looking for in case you are looking for a definition.

onelikeandidie,

These are the type of people that feed in my league of legends games

onelikeandidie,

Can confirm, sudo apt install firefox added a new star

onelikeandidie,

Yeah that sounded like a American Psycho type situation there

onelikeandidie,

I also recommend forgejo, I’ve been using it for a while for my personal projects and the ui is still beautiful while being a simple git server at the same time.

onelikeandidie,

I’m sorry to ask and I don’t want to be rude, does your cat not have front legs? It looks like it on the picture. It also looks like that is an impenetrable fort

onelikeandidie,

I’ve never noticed that before. You have ruined my life

onelikeandidie,

I went through on gimp just blurring every name 😅

onelikeandidie,

I just checked in Threads, Unread and Later, nothing shows up.

Image of Slack with Unread open

onelikeandidie,

Clearing my notifications on GNOME actually worked? You’re right, it doesn’t sync to the notification center.

onelikeandidie,

Thanks, a previous reply hinted at this as well and it worked. It’s a shame it doesn’t sync, I used discord and other apps and they all sync properly. I edited my post accordingly.

onelikeandidie,

Don’t they use tailwindcss at twitter? Must be easier to remove dim mode

onelikeandidie,

Yooo, can I have a source for this? Just for research purposes

onelikeandidie,

I agree so much, I got my own vpn on a private vps just to I can make sure there is no logging happening, so that I can live happy knowing that my data isn’t being sold and my webteam workmates were like “What? Why? Have you got anything to hide?”. No I don’t I just don’t want anything to listen in hugh…

onelikeandidie,

Well although it is true that my IP is always the same to the vpn, I make sure there is no logging happening since the vps is setup completely from scratch with wireguard on OpenBSD. A bigger plus for me is that the VPS is in another country rather than the UK since I don’t like the way ISPs here in England sell your information. I also have another VPS for interacting with work servers which only allow whitelisted IPs and my home IP is dynamic.

onelikeandidie,

I was about to type the same, I use syncthing all the time for other things but it’s literally the best way to keep my passwords on my laptop, phone and desktop, never passes any cloud service and then I just use KeePassXC and KeePassDX with a YubiKey to make sure everything is top notch.

onelikeandidie,

Basically, my password manager only opens when I this USB stick plugged in called a yubikey (and also a password) if you are missing either the password or the yubikey then you can’t open my passwords. It’s a sure way to know that it’s you! P.S.: Always have a copy of your yubikey, don’t wanna lose it and lose your passwords…
