I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds
Learn about one religion and you may become faithful. Learn about many and you may become an atheist.
There’s some truth and some idiocy behind this meme. Just because, for example, the US political system tends toward a two party system, does not mean you can always or always not find some amount of truth or good ideas based on what two parties tell you. In fact, the framing is irrelevant toward truth, and is even it’s own type of bias. There are certainly some third rails neither side of a debate will touch, or some things both find the need to lie about. But in some cases someone is sort of right about something and sometimes people are just wrong.
Saw an ad on YouTube for this service saying something like “if you’ve experienced chronic pain for a long time with no improvement, “plant medicine” might be right for you.”. So I checked it out. The website continually says “plant medicine” and doesn’t specify at all wtf that actually means. Until I saw wording...
I think mustard is a folk remedy for gas. And not the store bought condiment, that usually makes me fart, but rather mustard powder as used in Indian cuisine.
Plastic seals food, sterile medical implements, medicine, beverages, etc… it’s seems like plastic is used as a way to seal things safely. Post pandemic rising, I see even more. My work used to be have plastic utensils in the cafeteria, for example, an already wasteful thing. Now, post-2020, every fork, knife, and spoon is...
Gear isn’t the whole story. My running shoes are safe but a slip or getting hit by a car are always a risk. In the photo, the risk isn’t necessarily the equipment: it’s human error or the unpredictability of nature.
Another player who was at the table during the incident sent me this meme after the problem player in question (they had a history) left the group chat....
While this is a fair point, it isn’t the decisive argument. Do people ever starve to death in a fantasy world? Well many classes can cast goodberry so no one should have to starve in a fantasy world.
I’m not sure the commenter disagrees with you. If a player wants their character to have a wheelchair, they are simply “saying” that some people have wheel chairs.
I had to go look up diegetic essential ism and basically the idea is that people get too hung up on the literalness of a character in a wheelchair.
What does it say about the universe that elephants can jump ten feet vertically? What does it say about the DM if they rule against this “fact” of DND?
The media won’t give me great answers to this question and I think this I trust this community more, thus I want to know from you. Also, I have heard reports that Russia was winning the war, if that’s true, did the west miscalculate the situation by allowing diplomacy to take a backseat and allowing Ukraine to a large...
The media won’t give you “an answer”. Is a war like a board game where everyone can see the pieces and count the score according to the rules? What is Russia objective? Idk. Are they meeting it? Sure, to some degree. At what cost? We’ll we only have a small sense of the costs.
Is Ukraine “winning”? Well they have lost so much but not everything. Are they meeting their objectives? We’ll their state didn’t fall. That’s good.
And you just want some OP ED at NYT to just sum it up like it’s a football game?
I mean, I could understand if they used natural gas as fuel for vehicles (which I know they don’t), but they only use it in households. It makes no sense 🤷.
Pretty much the title. I’ve been watching more realistic super hero shows like The Boys and Invincible. The reoccurring themes is that with great power comes great immorality....
Consequences aren’t the only thing that cause people to act they way they act. It’s certainly one reason some people don’t do certain things.
One reason Homelander is the way he is is because how he was raised. If tomorrow I got all Homelander’s powers, I wouldn’t instantly become a psychopath. I mean it might occur to me that any action I might take, and no one could stop me or punish me. But as Homelander observed (at least in the prior season, I’m not entirely caught up) that alienation from his fellow supers is actually a consequence he deals with.
Spoilers for the first few seasons: the righteous non supers find drugs to give themselves superheroes so they can battle the corrupt super heroes. Yes, this cheat code to power begins to corrupt them too.
Further, the super hero Council and corporation works hard to replace the roles the military covers. They then become an unaccountable shadow agency that the people want to keep doing the work of the government… But then democracy is slipping away.
If in 1800s Europe Marx lived a “bohemian” lifestyle, it makes me wonder why that word means what it means. Are they calling him avante garde and possibly lazy, as compared to stereotypes of the Roma people?
Amouranth, the Kick streamer, is allegedly brewing beer with her vaginal yeast. It’s an obvious publicity stunt to squeeze more money from her impressionable and “thirsty” audience....
Yes, wild yeast and spontaneous fermentation are things in the beer and wine world. Yes her beer is possible. Also it will be possibly very bad. Or fine.
You could totally make a sourdough by rubbing your butt cheeks in the starter every day and I don’t think your friends would notice.
Its funny, because 200 years ago there were no commercial good products. To make beer you basically had to let it sit out for a couple days until enough wild yeast colonized your food. This is also true of kimchi, saurkraut and a bunch of other ancient foods.
Even still, weren’t their dozens of people shoveling gravel and only a couple of vice presidents? The pyramid structure of corporations imply that not everyone can go from the entry level work to the c suite. It’s an attrition and numbers game.
Plus, most companies now outsource their grunt work. The janitor cannot become the CEO anymore, because the janitor is a contracted worker, making minimum wage, not invited to the Christmas party, and prevented from speaking to anybody in a position of authority.
A grilled cheese consists of only these following items. Cheese. Bread with spread (usually butter). This entire subreddit consist of “melts”. Almost every “grilled cheese” sandwich i see on here has other items added to it. The fact that this subreddit is called “grilledcheese” is nothing short of utter blasphemy. Let me start out by saying I have nothing against melts, I just hate their association with sandwiches that are not grilled cheeses. Adding cheese to your tuna sandwich? It’s called a Tuna melt. Totally different. Want to add bacon and some pretentious bread crumbs with spinach? I don’t know what the hell you’d call that but it’s not a grilled cheese. I would be more than willing to wager I’ve eaten more grilled cheeses in my 21 years than any of you had in your entire lives. I have one almost everyday and sometimes more than just one sandwich. Want to personalize your grilled cheese? Use a mix of different cheeses or use sourdough or french bread. But if you want to add some pulled pork and take a picture of it, make your own subreddit entitled “melts” because that is not a fucking grilled cheese. I’m not a religious man nor am I anything close to a culinary expert. But as a bland white mid-western male I am honestly the most passionate person when it comes to grilled cheese and mac & cheese. All of you foodies stay the hell away from our grilled cheeses and stop associating your sandwich melts with them. Yet again, it is utter blasphemy and it rocks me to the core of my pale being. Shit, I stopped lurking after 3 years and made this account for the sole purpose of posting this. I’ve seen post after post of peoples “grilled cheeses” all over reddit and it’s been driving me insane. The moment i saw this subreddit this morning I finally snapped. Hell, I may even start my own subreddit just because I know this one exists now.
You god damn heretics. Respect the grilled cheese and stop changing it into whatever you like and love it for it what it is. Or make your damn melt sandwich and call it for what it is. A melt.
Yes. I have some albums gifted to me by my grandmother. I have my wedding photo book. And we also have some instax polaroid albums we have been making.
Then again, I also have some tintype portraits of us as well. I guess I like physical photos.
So can we talk mugs? I tend to make a half liter (~17 oz) of coffee in a French Press in the morning. I hate being a yeti fan boy, but I got a big ole thermos at work made by yeti and yeah you can absolutely fill it with hot coffee, or fill it with water and pop it in the fridge, whatever, and you’ll have a great drink hours later.
First thing I did upon starting my work day was to open a beer. Just one out of two purchased for the occasion of yesterday being payday.
