money_loo,

A typo for from, English your second language or you just a dick?

money_loo,

You’re totally right but this is the android community…so we’re gonna need you to start sounding like the echoes here or you can leave.

So he just wants to stop the federal government from enforcing pronouns or aliases in government settings…?

When does the government actually FORCE or ENFORCE pronoun usage though, using government money?

Am I taking crazy pills or is he just making shit up?

*Just wanted to say I appreciate all the people replying, the implications of his bill may be more severe than I initially read into it.

money_loo,

Is that what it’s saying in the bill though?

I could be wrong but it literally looks like he just wants to make it illegal to FUND the act of calling people their preferred pronouns, as in, not allow internal PSA’s to be made telling people they CAN do it.

It doesn’t appear to have any teeth or weight to prevent people from still respecting it if they want to.

It’s attempting to block a problem that doesn’t exist.

money_loo,

I did not know that, that’s awesome they have that and shitty if it’s part of what he’s after.

money_loo,

They have two apps now? I gave up when they deleted hangouts. Figured what’s the point if they’re just gonna end up doing the same thing again down the road.

money_loo,

Source?

This is all I could find on the subject:

nonceliac gluten sensitivity (NCGS), has resurfaced in the literature, fueling a debate on the appropriateness of the GFD for people without celiac disease. Although there is clearly a fad component to the popularity of the GFD, there is also undisputable and increasing evidence for NCGS.

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25583468/

And:

NCGS is included in the spectrum of gluten-related disorders.[3][4] The definition and diagnostic criteria of non-celiac gluten sensitivity were debated and established by three consensus conferences.[4][14][15][16][17] However, as of 2019, there remained much debate in the scientific community as to whether NCGS was a distinct clinical disorder.[18]

So there’s definitely debate in the community about it, I would love to see some of these many tests done to prove it was not being caused by gluten if you could point me in the right direction, I’d appreciate it.

money_loo, (edited )

Great source, thanks.

So it’s more like all this time people were just guessing it was the gluten and it kinda fell into popular culture and now we have to fight against that?

money_loo,

Absolutely stacked year, I don’t think I could choose!

money_loo,

You need some wool socks, bro.

money_loo,

Naw sounds more like it would teach them consequences for their actions while reminding them privileges are not a given. Your mom may have just taken it too far too many times. Or maybe you were a slow learner, who knows.

money_loo,

Thanks so much, made a great sticker for my collection on iPhone.

money_loo,

I appreciate you but the stickers are small enough for the most part that it looks really good!

money_loo,

How have you not tried Silo?!?

money_loo,

I enjoyed it so much I bought the books.

I think it’s the first time in my life I bought a book instead of using the library, but when I tried to check them out they were backordered for months because of the popularity of the damn show. Lol

money_loo,

I hope you get one one day, but that really has nothing to do with this.

money_loo,

Dude promised to do it if elected in 2020…soooo.

money_loo,

Yeah it helped about 6500 people, but the rest is taking way too long, even by government standards.

At this point I’m not holding my breath he ever gets it done, so I guess check back with me in 2024.

money_loo,

Well considering only like 30 students walked out halfway through, out of a total of 300 or so, and that it was planned, known about and peacefully executed, I’m going to guess she paused briefly while they shuffled out, and then continued her speech to the other 270 kids still there.

money_loo,

The Columbia spokesperson also said the protest “was not targeted at the secretary and dean’s class specifically, but all Sipa classes happening Wednesday afternoon”. They noted its organizers called it an “act of solidarity not tied to any political ideals or figures”.

Nothing to see here, just more misleading titles on Lemmy. Carry on.

money_loo,

On top of this, Qualcomm has introduced what it calls XPAN — Expanded Personal Area Network. Your headphones will connect to Wi-Fi, and as long as your phone (or whatever you’re using to listen) is connected to the same Wi-Fi network, you’ll get HQ audio streamed right to your ears. That means you can walk around the house or anywhere with Wi-Fi coverage and not have Bluetooth disconnecting or sputtering.

Read it for you.

money_loo,

I never thought I’d have a chance to say this again, but OK, Boomer.

money_loo,

Didn’t they then bomb that though? Leaving people too afraid to use it?

money_loo, (edited )

Israel’s military has been calling for civilians to leave northern Gaza since airstrikes began. But some are too old or ill to travel. Others have weighed up dangers including attacks on convoys heading south and airstrikes in areas in the south that Israel designated “safer” zones, and decided to stay.

It seems they did…

money_loo,

Sorry you didn’t have any loved ones to be isolated with.

money_loo,

Why do peacocks have such elaborate feather displays?

Gettin real goddamn tired of dogs

I like dogs like I like toddlers. It’s fun to hang out with other people’s for a while, but ultimately they’re annoying, loud, and make a mess. I feel like in the past 10 years or so, dog owners have become increasingly convinced that everyone thinks their slobbering, untrained mutt is god’s gift to everyone, and expects...

money_loo,

Yeah for real, why can’t they just report on what Taylor swift is up to? /s

money_loo,

Southwest Airlines before the Iranian revolution.

money_loo,

Alan Wake 2.

Just started, can’t really judge, but so far so good.

money_loo,

Wonderful article, highly recommend y’all click through to read this one.

money_loo,

Same for CVS.

Walgreens was a no-go.

money_loo,

This is humanity, ladies and gentlemen.

money_loo,

It does, actually.

I hope you stay safe and healthy out there, it’s chaos, my friend.

money_loo,

Based on these comments, it’s a bit of a clusterfuck out there.

money_loo,

Hope I don’t get dragged through the coals but I have to offer a differing opinion for people.

I really didn’t enjoy playing this game. The gun combat felt extremely limited with only two weapons to swap between on the fly.

The abilities were fun and useful and maybe the best part of the gameplay, but not enough to redeem it for me.

The story started out great but really falls flat and felt extremely unsatisfying at the end, to the point I ran around for a few hours thinking I had missed something, until eventually looking it up online to confirm, that yes, that IS where they decided to end it. Felt very incomplete like we were waiting on an extra DLC that never came. (I played the original dlcs, to be clear)

The difficulty spikes were frustrating af. You’d be flying through the game no problem and then suddenly encounter a room where the enemies just took 90% of your health like perfect aim snipers from across the room.

The defensive abilities were key to survival, but it still suffered these issues if you just mistimed a single button press.

I loved the setting but hated the map and backtracking. Seriously, worst map of any game I’ve played recently. If your game is going for 3d Metroid, then at least make the map fucking clear.

Eventually a lot of the areas look a ton alike…

Some of the unkillable enemies were just cheesy.

Figuring out the boss fights sometimes felt more annoying than fun, one particular dlc enemy I think, involving lights was super annoying.

The Maze was one of the best things I’ve ever played/experienced, though. Unfortunately that high of a bar just made the rest of the lows for me feel lower.

All in all I’m glad lots of people like or love it, but for me I’d give it a solid 5 out of 10.

So just a heads up, it may not be for everyone.

money_loo,

So you admit it was a weak point, too?

money_loo,

That only reduces the risks, it’s not a guarantee of safety.

money_loo,

A bunch of my tribe was missing, we don’t have a super popular surname but there’s a lot of us, regardless.

It looked like it was mostly the older older folks who still have landlines? Because we haven’t had one for so long I can’t even remember

money_loo,

100% correct and the downvoters can either read some newspapers or cope more.

money_loo,

It’s so weird how you could have just said “you know what bro, that makes sense.” and grown a bit from the experience, but instead you thought “yOU tAkE tHInGs too LiTeraL” was an appropriate response.

Fuck me if I’ll ever understand these types of people.

money_loo, (edited )

It’s an app with a button that records a message and sends it to the other walkie talkie app of the person you’re trying to reach.

My wife and I use it fairly regularly for updates when we’re apart. It’s quite handy since it’s nearly immediate, and you can get a response back quickly.

money_loo,

Text messages can be missed though, the walkie talkie function beeps and then just plays its message. It’s slightly more direct.

money_loo, (edited )

Maybe, but the walkie talkie app only works on the Apple Watch, and if you’re not wearing it the function doesn’t work. They will get a notification you are unavailable.

Like this, it’s pretty impossible to miss your partners voice coming through your wrist. Then you can just quickly lift and tap and hold to respond back.

I’m not going to argue if it’s faster or better or whatever, only that it’s pretty convenient to have the option, and it’s always nice to hear my wife’s voice instead of a sterile txt.

money_loo,

Absolutely, I personally have pretty bad ADHD and am notorious for missing notifications…the more direct nature of the walkie talkie helps me immensely.

money_loo,

For some reason your memories of the events are hazy…
