I tend to prefer “file centered” apps, there’s some cool one you’d use with Syncthing? My favourite is KeePassDX; I would love a notes app with a ‘material you’ UI.
Ahhh ok. I use Joplin and sync with syncthing. I use the file system storage setting in joplin, and my notes sync across my tablet, phone, desktop, and laptop.
Two people have been detained in China after allegedly damaging a section of the Great Wall in the northern Shanxi province with an excavator, according to state broadcaster CCTV....
This is interesting. China over the years has destroyed so many of its ancient buildings, for the simple reason as a road overpass at times, that this seems almost laughable.
I’ve been there many times over 25 years. Particularly about 20 years ago it was at the worst I saw. Massive, beautiful buildings, one i saw they claimed was close to 1000 years old, literally being destroyed for a shitty exit lane for a road. I can’t even describe the scale of the loss of history the world will never see, over the recent decades.
My 13 hour flight just got delayed 7 hours, I’m stuck at my second airport, and I dont think I’m gonna make it. I have some movies and audio books on my phone, but really only anticipated having to burn the flight time via napping and some media, not 7 hours leading up to it, and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna mentally burn...
We all hate ads, primarily because it is an unethical usage of our data for profits. So, if a person does not want to pay companies like Google, Meta and Microsoft, what alternatives are there to advertise or promote a product or service?...
I have a small software company. We don’t advertise with ANYONE. All our customers are word of mouth. We promote that within our software, but few people use the referral system.
However, we got to a point where our customers have started fully referring us in online groups. They’re selling for us. We’ve worked very hard as a small business for many years, and it feels good to hear our customers tell the communities about us.
In my mind, these things should not be destroyed. They should be moved to a museum, so people don’t forget. Erasing history is a bad idea. We can’t learn otherwise.
I’ve been to a stunning transport museum in Germany. Incredible restored vehicles from all over the world. Even a Concorde jet. Super cool.
They also have Hitler’s car there. It’s stunning, it’s historical, it happened, and the modern crime would be to hide it away, or destroy it.
Without our past, we can’t learn for our future. Put that kind of stuff in a museum. Have an information display about why it was there. Inform the future generations. Empower them with knowledge.
Most of the video games I’ve played were pretty good. The only one I can think of that I didn’t like was MySims Kingdom for the Nintendo DS. Dropped that pretty quickly. It was a long while ago, but I’ll guess it was because there were too many fetch quests and annoying controls.
This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. Meta is moving forward with their plans for Theads and the Fediverse, and their adjusted terms reflect a new impending reality for Fediverse users.
Agree. I’m not feeling it in my conversations with people. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Also, if that is the case, then WHY? We should be asking that now, before the referendum.
I believe that’s a little knee jerk. My brother, who is a real rough and tough redneck type of guy, is researching it to see what it really means. He wants to understand what implications could lay ahead when voting either way. To call someone racist for wanting critical analysis and clarity doesn’t help. In fact, it drives division, in my opinion.
like either a dumbass posting stupid shit, unfair bans, idiotic arguments, etc etc. i feel so incredibly stupid letting it affect me at all, but then also there’s real feelings mixed in there because it’s a real argument i give a shit about to some degree. so it’s this odd double crossing where i know it’s stupid but i...
I’ve learned to walk away. I used to bite, hard. But now I might give them the accurate answer then leave their tirade and maybe even block them. I have this lovely wife. Great kids. I’d rather put down phone and see what they’re up to than engage with some guy online who probably doesn’t even whipe their own arse.
Agree. A tiny text description even. I despise clicking a tracker like you tube. Glad that piped bot is here though.
