Echoing this. Stay away from Jeeps

That’s quite low milage yes? I put about 50k kms on my Nissan every year. I think the average in Australia is something like 40k km a year.

makingStuffForFun,
@makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml avatar

Yup. Been using it. Like it. Between my tablet and phone.

makingStuffForFun,
@makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml avatar

Keepsssdx also. Synced across 5 devices. Perfect

I also sync my dcim folders on my devices. So all my photos appear on all my devices. Delete on one, delete on all. Love it

Same with my documents folders, and more.

makingStuffForFun,

Ahhh ok. I use Joplin and sync with syncthing. I use the file system storage setting in joplin, and my notes sync across my tablet, phone, desktop, and laptop.

This is interesting. China over the years has destroyed so many of its ancient buildings, for the simple reason as a road overpass at times, that this seems almost laughable.

makingStuffForFun,
@makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml avatar

I’ve been there many times over 25 years. Particularly about 20 years ago it was at the worst I saw. Massive, beautiful buildings, one i saw they claimed was close to 1000 years old, literally being destroyed for a shitty exit lane for a road. I can’t even describe the scale of the loss of history the world will never see, over the recent decades.

How the fuck can I kill 20 hours?

My 13 hour flight just got delayed 7 hours, I’m stuck at my second airport, and I dont think I’m gonna make it. I have some movies and audio books on my phone, but really only anticipated having to burn the flight time via napping and some media, not 7 hours leading up to it, and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna mentally burn...

Love this game. Can get it from fdroid also.

What makes you day apple didn’t know what they are? Is this a thing that happened that I’m not aware of?

I have a small software company. We don’t advertise with ANYONE. All our customers are word of mouth. We promote that within our software, but few people use the referral system.

However, we got to a point where our customers have started fully referring us in online groups. They’re selling for us. We’ve worked very hard as a small business for many years, and it feels good to hear our customers tell the communities about us.

In my mind, these things should not be destroyed. They should be moved to a museum, so people don’t forget. Erasing history is a bad idea. We can’t learn otherwise.

makingStuffForFun,
@makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml avatar

I’ve been to a stunning transport museum in Germany. Incredible restored vehicles from all over the world. Even a Concorde jet. Super cool.

They also have Hitler’s car there. It’s stunning, it’s historical, it happened, and the modern crime would be to hide it away, or destroy it.

Without our past, we can’t learn for our future. Put that kind of stuff in a museum. Have an information display about why it was there. Inform the future generations. Empower them with knowledge.

Move. I moved to a country for work. It was miserable, and in turn, so was I. Moved back to Australia. Heaven.

However, I’m finding the humidity is too much for me here, so have my eye on New Zealand.

Not counting games that were unfun because of bugs, what’s the most unfun video game that you’ve played and what made it unfun?

Most of the video games I’ve played were pretty good. The only one I can think of that I didn’t like was MySims Kingdom for the Nintendo DS. Dropped that pretty quickly. It was a long while ago, but I’ll guess it was because there were too many fetch quests and annoying controls.

Same here. Sounded amazing. Just don’t enjoy it one bit. Which is a shame. Maybe I need to try again, again.

Beautiful again ❤️ I’ll cross post this to !watercolor

I love my x1 carbon. However, it could be upgradable. Lenovo simply made sure I could not.

What if my instance says other services and instances can’t do that? Are meta then breaking the law?

makingStuffForFun,
@makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml avatar

Agree

makingStuffForFun,
@makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml avatar

Can we put terms as to how the data is used / not used? Surely that could put an end to meta’s dark move?

Wow, how come I just learned about @newpipe? 🙌

makingStuffForFun,

It’s brilliant. I just can’t wait until it syncs with Freetube. Then I’m living the dream

makingStuffForFun,
@makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml avatar

Agree. I’m not feeling it in my conversations with people. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Also, if that is the case, then WHY? We should be asking that now, before the referendum.

makingStuffForFun,
@makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml avatar

I believe that’s a little knee jerk. My brother, who is a real rough and tough redneck type of guy, is researching it to see what it really means. He wants to understand what implications could lay ahead when voting either way. To call someone racist for wanting critical analysis and clarity doesn’t help. In fact, it drives division, in my opinion.

It’s basically a re-education camp, to prove you’re now a good citizen. This is a corporation, mind you. The dark times we live in.

Grumpy gamer moved to mastadon so I gave it a crack. It’s great. Lots of game devs there.

makingStuffForFun,

Ron Gilbert. The creator of Monkey Island. mastodon.gamedev.place/

Through him, you’ll soon find so many developers.

He’s said if you mention / tag him re your game, he’ll boost it for you. He’s forever boosting indi games. Top bloke.

How do you handle being upset about something online?

like either a dumbass posting stupid shit, unfair bans, idiotic arguments, etc etc. i feel so incredibly stupid letting it affect me at all, but then also there’s real feelings mixed in there because it’s a real argument i give a shit about to some degree. so it’s this odd double crossing where i know it’s stupid but i...

I’ve learned to walk away. I used to bite, hard. But now I might give them the accurate answer then leave their tirade and maybe even block them. I have this lovely wife. Great kids. I’d rather put down phone and see what they’re up to than engage with some guy online who probably doesn’t even whipe their own arse.

makingStuffForFun,
@makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml avatar

Agree. A tiny text description even. I despise clicking a tracker like you tube. Glad that piped bot is here though.

Description:

Terraform infrastructure-as-code tool recently switched to a BSL license. As a result, it was forked into a new project called OpenTF. Let’s look at open-source licensing and find out why this drama occurred.

Clicked that link as fast as I could. I thought it would be cool, but didn’t realise it would be that cool. Thank you

makingStuffForFun,

Oooh you should be posting in !watercolor by the sound of it.

makingStuffForFun,

Ahhh and I’m a goose. I should have checked your user name. Great list above! Art supplies can suck the budget. Just. One. More. Sketch. Book.

I know that although most things lose colour strength as they get further away, the ocean is usually different.

So you could do darker water further from shore. Lighter closer to shore.

makingStuffForFun,
@makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml avatar

Oh that’s so hilariously dark.

makingStuffForFun,
@makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml avatar

Microsoft’s Assembly# of course. It’s new. It’s just different enough to extinguish assembly

makingStuffForFun,
@makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml avatar

Not at all. The only thing taking time to build here are the art communities, but they’re growing. So I’m patient and am trying to contribute

makingStuffForFun,

Same. I’ve started a watercolour group

Are MS now going to make a MSPython, and break actual python?

Who wants a wager?

makingStuffForFun,

They’ve succeeded. They’ve worn you down.

I swapped to pop and Debian.

I refuse to have Google and Microsoft tactics used against me in the Linux world, so Ubuntu are out for me.
