@fdroid

Hi

Would you contact #AhmedBashbash, developer in Budapest, who created a boycott app #NoThanks

(SOURCE: #TheStream, Al Jazeera, 'Are The Boycotts Against Israel Having An Impact?')

#JewsAgainstIsraeliApartheid
#JewsInSolidarityWithPalestine 🇵🇸✡️

lnxtx,

I had similar idea, to make NoThanks available also on the F-Droid.

You can contact Ahmed via the Xitter or Telegram: linktr.ee/Nothanksboycott

Nooo! No more cringe compilations :(

lnxtx,

So actually the regulations bring innovations.

Russia Today, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, right?

Train manufacturer intentionally bricks trains serviced by independent service providers (social.hackerspace.pl)

Polish train manufacturer that lost servicing tender programmed train controller to brick itself after train stays for some time in 6 ISP facilities or in 1 their faculity(for testing?) until undocumented button combination is pressed. Some controller versions brick itself after train is idle for 10 days. After news about this...

This is not the Russia :)

There is an information in the /etc/tlp.conf file:

<span style="color:#323232;"># Select platform profile:
</span><span style="color:#323232;">#   performance, balanced, low-power.
</span><span style="color:#323232;"># Controls system operating characteristics around power/performance levels,
</span><span style="color:#323232;"># thermal and fan speed. Values are given in order of increasing power saving.
</span><span style="color:#323232;"># Note: check the output of tlp-stat -p to determine availability on your
</span><span style="color:#323232;"># hardware and additional profiles such as: balanced-performance, quiet, cool.
</span><span style="color:#323232;"># Default:
</span><span style="color:#323232;"># !!!!!!!! Warning !!!!!!!!!
</span><span style="color:#323232;"># When use power-profiles-daemon, please use below items in
</span><span style="color:#323232;"># /var/lib/power-profiles-daemon/state.ini
</span><span style="color:#323232;">#    1) "balanced" is default mode
</span><span style="color:#323232;">#    2) "power-saver" mode means "low-power" in ppd
</span><span style="color:#323232;">#    3) "performance" mode
</span><span style="color:#323232;"># !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;">#PLATFORM_PROFILE_ON_AC=performance
</span><span style="color:#323232;">#PLATFORM_PROFILE_ON_BAT=low-power
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span>

So, it depends if your distro uses power-profiles-daemon or if your desktop environment controls power profiles.

lnxtx,
@lnxtx@feddit.nl avatar

Do you want low-power setting only on a battery?

Create, for example, /etc/tlp.d/99-custom.conf file, with content:

<span style="color:#323232;">PLATFORM_PROFILE_ON_BAT=low-power
</span>

Reload the settings: tlp start

And make sure the tlp service is enabled.

lnxtx,
@lnxtx@feddit.nl avatar

TLP can also control CPU clock.

I’m using these settings on my trusty X260:

<span style="color:#323232;">CPU_SCALING_GOVERNOR_ON_AC=performance
</span><span style="color:#323232;">CPU_SCALING_GOVERNOR_ON_BAT=powersave
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;">CPU_MIN_PERF_ON_AC=0
</span><span style="color:#323232;">CPU_MAX_PERF_ON_AC=100
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;">CPU_MIN_PERF_ON_BAT=0
</span><span style="color:#323232;">CPU_MAX_PERF_ON_BAT=30
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;">CPU_BOOST_ON_AC=1
</span><span style="color:#323232;">CPU_BOOST_ON_BAT=0
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;">CPU_HWP_DYN_BOOST_ON_AC=1
</span><span style="color:#323232;">CPU_HWP_DYN_BOOST_ON_BAT=0
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;">SCHED_POWERSAVE_ON_AC=0
</span><span style="color:#323232;">SCHED_POWERSAVE_ON_BAT=1
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;">USB_EXCLUDE_WWAN=1
</span><span style="color:#323232;">

Will 2025 be the year of Linux? :)

lnxtx,
@lnxtx@feddit.nl avatar

What are the exact criteria? Famous to the local people or famous to the global audience?

lnxtx, (edited )
@lnxtx@feddit.nl avatar

Yeah. On the same hardware, Linux (Knoppix back then) worked much better than Windows (the 98/XP era).

lnxtx,
@lnxtx@feddit.nl avatar

Any evidences why? No network of tunnels? No unidentified electronics? No operations center? Any cans of a tactical WD-40?

Just because?

Shame on you Biden.

Have one’s cake and eat it too.

Let the people decide.

Hell no!

Will he stop expressing his feelings and do something?

lnxtx,
@lnxtx@feddit.nl avatar

Nooo. There should be no emotional bonds between humans and humanoid robots.

In some critical situation, people will choose a robot over another human.

Second hand Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), /e/OS, still rocks for my needs!

I miss small smartphones with 16:9 screen (mine has 5.2 "), physical home button.

For the future I will try a Pixel with supported GrapheneOS.

lnxtx,

There is the LemmyTools. New features are added with each new release.

I’m tired of the nG bullshit. I can’t get magic hundreds of megabits.

Not even real 5G is deployed (the 5G is falsely advertised) in my country. Licenses for 5G frequencies have been bought by telcos a few months ago.

lnxtx,
@lnxtx@feddit.nl avatar

GrapheneOS or nothing :/

lnxtx,
@lnxtx@feddit.nl avatar

I mean from the privacy aspect.

Amazon issues warning about major change for Kindle users starting next month (goodereader.com)

In a recent communication, Amazon has alerted Kindle users about significant changes set to take effect from next month. The notification pertains to the phasing out of support for sending MOBI (.mobi, .azw, .prc) files through the “Send to Kindle” feature, starting November 1, 2023. This change, as News18 pointed out,...

lnxtx,
@lnxtx@feddit.nl avatar

What if you bought an ebook in mobi format a long time ago?

It doesn’t make sense.

The researchers estimate that if the system is scaled up to the size of a small suitcase, it could produce about 4 to 6 liters of drinking water per hour and last several years before requiring replacement parts. At this scale and performance, the system could produce drinking water at a rate and price that is cheaper than tap water.

But can it be scaled up even more? Like cubic meters per hour?

lnxtx, (edited )
@lnxtx@feddit.nl avatar

Yeah, first create domains and mailboxes.

Then you can find user’s Maildirs here for example:

<span style="color:#323232;">/var/lib/docker/volumes/mailcowdockerized_vmail-vol-1/_data/DOMAIN/USERNAME/Maildir
</span>

If you done with the restore, remember to execute:

<span style="color:#323232;">docker exec mailcowdockerized_dovecot-mailcow_1 chown -R vmail:vmail /var/vmail
</span><span style="color:#323232;">docker exec mailcowdockerized_dovecot-mailcow_1 /usr/bin/doveadm quota recalc -A
</span>

Next will be the Linux kernel?
