grrr…why so many podcoasts these days? One of the things I appreciate about NPR & misses.org is they, eventually, post full transcripts of their podcasts online. (Either they have really good speech to text technology, or it scurinizetley edited by humans.)
As a Lucha Libre AAA fan this one peekd my interest.
I’m out of the loop, usually I only watch WWE PPVs, partially because they do such a good job presenting the backstory of each match I don’t feel like I have to watch the weekly show.
Last I recall both of these fellows were on NXT. Is this a pre-show match? I had stopped watching the pre-show as they present the same info during the PPV, but this would be worth tuning in for.
I was very disappointed by the number of times that either team celebrated their success rather than taking advantage of the situation, not the least being Lynch/Flair hug in the middle of the match
I think this is the first time I’ve seen him since he lost his mask at Triplemania a few years ago. Feels like he is missing something, but I can’t tell what it is.
while for the most part I have appreciated they have up on Raw V. Smack Down for Survivor Series, but part of me really hoped to sure the WWE Universe with how good a Nick Aldis v. Adam Peirce match would be.
I would gladly pay the $10 (or more) to get the actual WWE network back. The ability to start live events from the beginning alone, not to mention how much better/easier it was to find old stuff. Peacock being locked into the Season X Episode Y just doesn’t work right for Wrestling
Should I be concerned before I share a video I downloaded from a site I needed to log in to with a username and password? Does the file I have include data that references my account? If so is there away to remove it before I share it?...
I don’t understand how anyone can choose to watch 4K. maybe I’m just so cheap I tell myself I can not tell the difference, but anything higher than 480P just feels like overkill to sell more bandwidth and overpriced hardware.
I don’t think minimum wage is intended to be enough to live on. If you start working as a teenager by the time you have to pay your living expenses it would be quite doubtful that you are still making minimum wage.
Then again, as they say, your milage may vary. In my part of the world there might as well be no minimum wage as even the most entry level positions are offering nearly double the minimum wage.
I just wish I didn’t have to select it every time I launch the app on Roku, particularly as I only have one profile, which happens to be named PROFILE.
“MJF has always wrestled his style, one that doesn’t involve flips and moves many consider to be high risk” this is an understatement. He first made a name for himself in CZW by being a dick to death match fans, by, well, not sitting there and holding glass over his chest while he waited for his opponent to climb the turn buckles, and similar.
I cannot disagree with this more. Most every web browser gives an option to easily open in a new tab/window links that are authored to open in the same, but few, I’m unaware of any without an extension/add-on, give a user an option to easily open such in the same tab/window. So if we want more options for users, as most Free Software programs do, I would highly recommend we keep same.
Are you sure you understand my question? On my work PC IT has installed Chrome for Windows Version 116.0.5845.188 (Official Build) (64-bit). When I right click a link I see option sfor OPEN LINK IN NEW TAB, OPEN LINK IN NEW WINDOW & OPEN LINK IN INCOGNITO WINDOW. I don’t see an option to OPEN LINK IN SAME TAB. Is this something that is included in a newer build?
Upon re reading my comment of which you are replying still seems clear to me, so perhaps you meant to tag another user in your reply, but I’ll do my best to clarifiy optional if that was unclear in my wording:
If a webpage has a hyperlink that includes the Target attribute, or onclick=window.Open javascript call, intended to force the user to utilize a different tab/window than the current one to access the webpage being linked to, I would want an option for a USER to force the browser to use the same Window AND tab. In my experience browsers don’t provide such an option to users, and as such in order to give our user the option of either open in new tab or open in same tab, based on their preference, keeping the hyperlinks set to open in same tab, ensures both options exist as most browsers have an option available be right-click/long-click to open in new tab.
I know I end up with way too many tabs open. So many pages defaulting to opening links in new tab is part of the reason this happens, and it uses significantly more resources since now-a-days most browsers start a new process for each tab, so as to keep the rest of your tabs working if the content of one tab causes the process to crash. I feel like Wikipedia is the only website I use on a regular basis that doesn’t ever open links in new tabs, and that makes me sad.
Because I am an idiot who clearly misunderstood that this would add an option allowing individual users to change the setting, rather than being a global change for all such links, or a setting that only instance admins had control over.
maybe, maybe not. Particularly if your account is followed by anyone with a platform that doesn’t support DELETE from remote servers, like like earlier versions of Diaspora and GNU Social. and yoru delete command might not work such as if the remote server is down when the delete request is sent. Once you choose delete most platforms send a request to every server that it knows of to delete the same, if it doesn’t get a response within a certain amount of time it will request it again, and after so many failures it stops trying. The server could later come back up and it never know that the item was deleted.
I’m not sure aware off hand of any servers that make it easy for admins to turn off the ability to delete, but its Free Software so anyone could download the source code edit it as they see fit, like removing the delete function, compile it and run it on their own server.
Its a really great reminder that we all should assume anything that has ever been posted on the internet will exist forever. So don’t post stuff that is going to come back and haunt you.
lemmy isn’t designed to do that, but mastodon is. For example if you paste the perma-link for your comment lemmus.org/comment/791388 into the search bar of your Mastodon account on Theres.life you’d find the same content at theres.life/…/110834025709111907
that’s not true, there are multiple reasons one might like to, such as if you are interested in content that is blocked by one instance, particular if you want to access content on instance a and also content on instance b, and instance a blocks instance B, or vice versa.
you could want to have separate personalities, one that you discuss your expertise as a mechanic, and another that you use to talk about your expertise as a Furry.
You might want a sock account to argue with people without getting negative votes on your primary account, etc.
