NASA’s 46-year-old Voyager 1 spacecraft has experienced a computer glitch that prevents it from returning science data to Earth from the solar system’s outer reaches.
In a lot of European countries we are now introducing “turbo” roundabouts where you can’t even go all the way around once, and they work way better and amazingly.
I’m currently visiting my SO in the US and the way roundabouts are used here is terrifying! I’ve seen people just cross straight over them and I have yet to see anyone but my SO use their turn signal on them, not to mention how long people wait to get on the roundabout defeating the point entirely.
The turbo roundabout was confusing the first or second time I was on one, but after that it made a lot of sense and was quite simple. A lot of them even have guiding arrows and signs beforehand telling you where to go, these roundabouts genuinely make it so you basically never have to stop and can just continue driving like there was never an intersection.
The official matrix.org server is completely stripped down and removes a lot of features, and Element as a client is nowhere near as good as anything else.
Element X (with the sliding sync support) does fix the massive issue of absolutely horrifically slow syncing.
None of Matrix comes anywhere near the levels of usability Discord has and nor does Element, Discord’s server-chat model is unbeatable in this aspect.

You’ve forgotten what left means and have zero clue how projects like Lemmy work, if you’re going to be angry at someone who didn’t really say anything to you at least do it with some self respect.

It’s incredibly easy to understand, people have different tastes and are able to not mind that it’s packed! They’re probably also unaware/don’t care that the restaurant is owned by bigots.
like I went to taco bell and they didn’t even have napkins out. they had the other stuff just no napkins, I assume because some fucking ghoul noticed people liked taking them for their cars so now we just don’t get napkins! so they can save $100 per quarter rather than provide the barest minimum quality of life features.
That makes sense! I’m currently in the US and have only seen Gouda once and it tasted nothing like it, in the Netherlands there’s also many varieties of Gouda that all taste very different.
It’s very strange seeing Dutch products on the shelves here.
They weren’t insulting or being rude to you in any way, just trying to see what was going on. Your original comment had some spelling mistakes, which they should’ve just pointed out.

I swear every single time someone mentions language or doesn’t explicitly say where they’re from someone will fight you saying that you only know one language and one culture and you can’t possibly know anything else lol
I’m more referring to where you say you obviously know more than just English, and someone tries to fight you about it. That only comes from bad intentions.
I’m honestly not sure about how people would go about learning a language without getting so involved that you inevitably catch all of that, I’ve never thought about it.
Getting these people help makes sense from a capitalist perspective too, help them and they can work again and probably do a full life of that. It really isn’t anti-capitalist.
I came across everyday topic on Techlore Discussions about free and open source keyboards for Android and discovered this little gem. It is FlorisBoard, a virtual keyboard for Android which respects privacy of the user. I can sigh with relief and finish my search for that singular keyboard for typing stuff on the go....
I’m going to take a guess and say that it might be possible for it to still be, for example GBoard may share info with the other Google apps who then share it with the world.
Otherwise, if it’s completely blocked from the outside world? Definitely not.
I’m sure there’s some way to monitor that using ADB or another tool, but at that point you’re wasting so so much time that you should just get an open source trusted app.
I am in an intense love-hate relationship with Spotify. It makes good mixes for me, I have found a lot of great bands that way. BUT IT KEEPS REGURGITATING THE SAME SONGS IN THERE. I know about Song Radios and Artist Radios, so please don’t recommend those. Smart Shuttle doesn’t cut it, either....

Why is everything in consumer / American life so fucking shitty now - and companies literally just say 'oh bc profit margins' and we're now expected to swallow that and sympathize?
