It’s hard when we don’t know what you have played. My go to recommendation is always Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch if you never played it. It will always hold a special place in my heart. I feel Octopath and Bravely Default are played by 99% of people interested in jrpgs. Chained Echoes should be a good recommendation as well. But you might have played all these.
I’m getting a 64gb steam deck probably next month. It will be used as a portable console and a desktop PC for work (desktop reliant websites). The most heavy game I’ll play is Stray (no 1st person shooters, MMOs or huge open worlds) with an hour or two of play time a day....
You are fine for now. You will notice when storage starts to run out. Most important thing right now is understanding how everything works on Linux and the Deck specifically. How it handles shaders, why storage runs out even if you dont have games on the internal storage, etc.
Start looking into som videos about the deck. Download cryo utilities and follow that setup, you learn a lot and speed your Deck up while at it. Only suggestion coming from a fellow 64gb user is to not use more than maybe 8gb of storage for the extra “ram” you can create. You will run out of space. And don’t install any games directly on the Deck whatsoever. Only use that external storage.
When, or if, you start to run out. A 1tb sd instead of your 128gb could be the easiest option and requires 0 tinkering. I swapped the internal storage myself just about 3 days ago and it was super easy. But just getting a 1tb sd is probably best for most people anyway.
Welcome to the gang. Enjoy. Your purchase was a great one.
Hey all, I’m new to Diablo IV after having not played D3 for a couple years, so I wanted to share a few tips for others who might also be new. These tips are based off my own experience in patch 1.1.0b....
I have recently upgraded my SSD in the Steam Deck to a 1TB one and created a 300GB Windows partition on it to be able to play Genshin Impact. So far so good, that is working as it should....
Did you get the b.net installer and launcher mixed up? I did the same uphrade just 3 days ago, 1tb upgrade from 64gb. Diablo works fine for me from the new ssd. On my old 64gb I got them mixed up once and it was a headache to sort out.
All I did: Add installer as Steam Game. Press play to install. Add launcher as Steam Game. Press play to open the b.net client and install w/e game you intend to. In both cases also force use of proton experimental or else it won’t start.
I’m looking for recommendations for earbuds that I can use with my Steam Deck, ideally also being fairly useful for general use with an Android phone....
For those not aware, one of the objectives for the last part of the season 1 journey is to purify 10,000 Seeds of Hatred. There are also objectives to purify 1,000 and 5,000 in Chapter 4 and Champion (Chapter 6) respectively. If you don’t like PVP but still want to complete all the season journey objectives, now’s your...
Super Display only seem to work if you get windows and dual boot. Seems to be 0 Linux support because of hw acceleration. Bummer. Thanks for the tip though!
Spot on. That’s probably why. But I suppose you would find another cause. Like become a corpse-farmer, take care of your house, find someone you love and start a family. You know. Graveyard Keeper stuff.
Playing hardcore you need to set other goals than get this first character to 100. For me, more than anything, its about learning your limits at every stage of the game. Actually learning, getting better. Losing one character doesn’t end that. And. Nothing beats the blood pumping because you are in a sticky situation knowing there are consequences. It’s a thrill.
That said, I play both SC and HC. Mostly SC because I play late when I’m tired. So my HC progression is slow. Very slow. But I enjoy it a lot next to my SC main. No need to go all in. Think Ive died four times in hc before season 1. My biggest achievement so far is lvl 30 which is only a few hours of progression without death :)

Every change, even this un-doing, gets negative comments. Maybe they just regret the move. And took it away. That’s big on them. Why try and turn it into something more. Admitting they are wrong is good. How and why do some people need to try and make even that into something bad? Baffles me.
It does. Play the mode where it does. It also has this mode where all players can be on the same team. How can more options be bad? Just opt to play how it is in the real world if that’s what you want.
I hate that we humans are so dumb most of the time. Just let people have choices. Why are female and male characters able to raid together in wow? Why does a female bloodelf maintank have as much HP as a male tauren? Never seen that discussion.
I loved D2. Hated D3. Love D4 and I don’t agree with a lot of the things mentioned. Some are even false. Sad to see someone miss out on this beautiful game because of being misled.
No idea. I even have the high res installed on my Steam Deck and then tuning the settings down because that’s what a guide said have the best graphics while still running light.
Feels bad to take time and compare the two. But I would like to know as well :)
I just bought the D2R + D3 package on sale. I played D2 to no end in the past (single player, and never played D3), but I don’t know much about D2R other than it gives a facelift to the game....
Mostly bug fixes honestly. Some skill viability as well, like Fist of Heavens. Some new runewords as well. You can also kill the Cow King and still open new portals to the Cow level. Enough to keep it fresh but not too much to get overwhelmed. You could prob even read through the patch notes and get to grips with it all.
Yeah but nothing major imo. Nothing that breaks builds from what I can recall. Easiest is probably checking a tierlist. If the build you thought of is rock bottom maybe only do it if you really enjoy it :)
I know it’s early but I’m very disappointed in the build variety of barbarians so far. It’s shout builds only because anything else is too weak to compete. Even found the unique chain pull axe but giving up a shout on the bar is simply not worth it. Anyway with the start of the first season I’d like a class with some...
I’ve mostly played Druid but on my first Rogue atm. Made the jump to hardcore after reaching lvl 56 on softcore and the whole game got a lot deeper and a lot more interesting! Died three times so far. Very limited playtime. I’m loving it! :)
What is everyone’s preferred hub? I find my myself always going to Kyovashad. It just seems more lively to me for some reason and feels “lived in.” So what is everyone’s go to? This a random post but I’m also trying to help drive some content and engagement here on Lemmy!
Gameplay is awesome. I’m having a blast! All classes are viable and during the campaign you don’t need to follow a guide. Respecs are cheap in the early game so just try stuff out and enjoy yourself! I find the base game a lot of fun. It’s a little zoomed in but you should get used to it.
I played through the main campaign and then some on my druid. Currently level 56. Now I’m doing hardcore. Lost two characters because Ive started bosses in Strongholds way over my level. Gonna take it more chill with my third :) It will give me a different take on gameplay. Plus I get to try more classes and builds. My game time is limited and I really enjoy this way of playing at the moment. Lets see when I lose something more valuable than a lvl 20+ with one or two legendaries :)
