greedytacothief,

I’ve been called an idiot here a couple of times, but I think I’m drawn to the irrationally angry people

greedytacothief,

So addictive it’s easy to hurt yourself. Source, me

greedytacothief,

Yeah, I didn’t particularly enjoy base fallout 4, but I could see a lot of potential there. It felt like “if only I could change these things, then it will be good”.

greedytacothief,

Not a specific website, but digital gardens are super cool. They are like people’s personal wkis full of their thoughts and interests. It’s not like a chronological blog, but instead it’s a web of hyperlinks connecting thoughts and ideas together!

greedytacothief,

Woah, first time I’ve heard of blendOS, looks super cool!

greedytacothief,

I’ve been sucked into a depression fueled reading hole where I just read and lay in bed for several days. What’s weird though is after a couple of days I start to narrate my dreams and if long enough it begins to make its way into my waking life?

Ever experienced anything like this?

greedytacothief,

I always thought of it as Californian, but now that I say that, I have no idea where it originates.

Edit: it was founded in Colorado, but is now headquartered in California.

greedytacothief,

Finding stuff for roofing in the winter sucks. My boss swears by blacklader pants, they even have kneepad inserts. Wear layers under your pants. Long John’s and or fleece pants will keep you warm. Gloves are also super hard to find, or hard to find ones cheap (and warm) enough you don’t mind destroying.

I follow all of your rules, but let cotton be my top layer sometimes, as it is fairly cut resistant (we do standing seam). As for boots, muck boots seem to be warm enough and give you good traction on a panel/ underlayment.

I also bring hand warmers in case my hands start to get too cold. Also some people use the Milwaukee sweatshirt that is heated/battery powered as a mid layer. It may reduce too many bulky layers.

greedytacothief,

Or that children are being sacrificed to them. Crucification was a state punishment, so maybe they are trying to say that governments are complicit in the crime? Maybe?

Or maybe that children are our saviors/future, but they are being sacrificed on the backs of these topical issues?

Art is hard.

greedytacothief,

Ticks.

They seem to just make everything worse, and I don’t think anything only eats ticks. Not to mention the diseases they carry.

greedytacothief,

I don’t think they have much effect on the flora of an area, but humans are not the only fauna that are harmed by ticks.

Also they get in my dreams and I usually have at least one tick related nightmare a year, so please do understand I speak with some hyperbole.

greedytacothief,

I teach snowboarding in the winter! You get a free pass, get to meet lots of people, and the more time you spend thinking about snowboarding the better you get at it. Also great for fitness. It can get pretty exhausting though.

greedytacothief,

Yeah if it lasts more than a couple minutes I just walk away, my presence is not wanted in that conversation anyway.

greedytacothief,

Dragonborn rogue…

So a normal Skyrim playthrough I guess.

greedytacothief,

What browser signifies an excellent source of information? Ice weasel? w3m?

greedytacothief,

Haha, my browser is called curl

greedytacothief,

Dang, these are actually really good costume ideas. I’m kinda thinking of what other more nebulous fears can be costumes now.

greedytacothief,

"Yep, you’ll have that on them big jobs."

  • the contractor probably
greedytacothief,

Yeah I picked up running this summer. A little while ago I injured my foot and couldn’t run anymore, things instantly got worse for me.

greedytacothief,

This evening will be my first day back at run club! I’ve been doing short runs for a bit now, as well as sitting on the stationary bike. But thank you for the suggestion

greedytacothief,

If I may ask, why QubesOS in particular?

Is it for the extra security? Then why aren’t you using it now?

Is it for the virtualization? Then why not any other Linux OS ?

greedytacothief,

Woah! Atom-shell = electron. I’m dumb and the connection was just made.

greedytacothief,

I’ll be honest, it’s taken me like all day to realize people weren’t talking about cs:go

Seriously, though. How often do you think of the Roman Empire?

I know this is a joke/meme, but I sincerely think of the Roman Empire a surprising amount of times. I find myself obsessing over how Roman citizens were living just as complex lives as we are today, or about Marcus Aurelius’ life and philosophy, or about how the Republic fell and became a totalitarian state.

greedytacothief,

I did not know it was a trend or whatever until reading all the comments. But I probably think about the Roman empire most days.

greedytacothief,

Saw these in a hardware store the other day and really wanted to try one. Someone should bring them into their office and see if people will eat them

greedytacothief,

Sometimes these hit me harder than they should

greedytacothief,

If you’re getting into a hobby for monetary reasons, chances are you aren’t going to enjoy it in the long run.

greedytacothief,

I’ve heard this has to do with how light novels are marketed in Japan. Where having a title that accurately describes the content is desirable. But maybe it’s become more of a meme now.

greedytacothief,

Boost for reddit is open source, I assume the lemmy version will also be open source. Also I think it’s like $2 to get rid of ads forever.

IMHO open source developers should be paid for their work, if it must be ads then so be it.
