Tb0n3,

Cool costumes your activist parents made you wear, kid.

DoucheBagMcSwag,

Hmm….reads comment history

Struck a nerve didn’t it?

Tb0n3,

Maybe it makes sense in a comic but in real life the kids have no clue.

flambonkscious,

…And yet there’s lawsuits unfolding where kids are accusing the established structures of failing them by not addressing climate change while pursuing profit.

Kids protesting instead of being in school, etc.

Sorry, tbone, but you are simply wrong

Tb0n3,

High school students. The comic has kids that look under eight.

flambonkscious,

Yeah… fair point. Although I’m my country, it’s teenagers not high school students, the comic clearly depicts young children

optissima,

I started caring about the environment when I was 7 in the nineties, this isn’t unreasonable for modern kids with their current access to information, this information is everywhere today.

ThrowawayPermanente,

Actually no, it’s a common misconception that elementary school kids couldn’t possibly have well-founded, thought-out political beliefs but that is false.

lugal,

Let’s make these costumes and sell them to end up on the winning side of each!

bro dressed as ENA

greedytacothief,

Dang, these are actually really good costume ideas. I’m kinda thinking of what other more nebulous fears can be costumes now.

magnetosphere,
@magnetosphere@kbin.social avatar

I nominate willful ignorance!

NegativeInf,

There’s a couple outfits and accessories I can think of.

Sharkwellington,

Carrying a Google search for “Do vaccines cause autism?” with 9 links to scientific studies crossed out and an opinion article on Fox News circled and highlighted. Perhaps a Bible still in its shrinkwrap.

RQG,
@RQG@lemmy.world avatar

Misinformation. I wonder how one could make that costume.

TenderfootGungi,

I wonder what ai would come up with?

AFallingAnvil, (edited )
@AFallingAnvil@lemmy.ca avatar

Come dressed up in a clown costume and loudly and persistently insist you’re a politician?

UnrepententProcrastinator,

Probably someone else’s idea…

8osm3rka,

*semi-original idea made out of someone else’s images.

Let’s not forget that the actual technology isn’t the issue here. The issue is how the training data for it was sourced.

explodicle,
rockSlayer,

… Probably want to avoid the pointy hat made out of white paper

Sterile_Technique,
@Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world avatar

I mean, it’s a showcase of misinformation - white supremacy is a pretty glaring front for that shit. Perfect match imo.

rockSlayer,

I agree that it’s a very strong statement, but actual or facsimile symbols of hate are not appropriate costumes

InputZero,

Whatever costume you choose this Halloween, make sure to wash it with Torgo’s Executive Powder. Torgo’s Executive Powder; when your costumes stinks like a Omicronian’s feet, only trust Torgo’s Executive Powder.

Xanthrax,
@Xanthrax@lemmy.world avatar

A suit with a pattern that looks like Newspapers but they’re all the onion articles.

PsychedSy,

You don’t even need to use onion articles.

Sterile_Technique,
@Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world avatar

Onion is satire, not misinformation. Try Fox, or some of the more blatant shit like Info Wars.

Xanthrax,
@Xanthrax@lemmy.world avatar

It was a joke. They’re a satire of misinformation. That’s the point. I would NOT suggest wearing REAL news articles in your costume.
