probably only very bad smoke smell but the actual damage should not be too big. Still a problem but not as big as you might think. I am not sure tho because where I live roads are a bit wider
An investigative report reveals that new spyware can slip in unseen through online ads—and there is currently no defense against it. So not only that online ads are intrusive and can infect devices through malware, they can also be used for spying.
it depends on what games you play. Some online games will not work because of the anticheat, others will require some tweaking and some will not boot at all. This is not very common but it can happen. even more rare is the developer release a new update for a native game and that update contains some windows exclusive dependencies and the game doesn’t start. But most of the times proton works perfectly, even with non-steam games.
EDIT: So after all that, I was able to reinstall windows and download Macrium reflect + my backup. First time I tried to recover it, it failed for some reason, but the second time around I was able to restore it successfully. I’m now back where I started, thank you everyone!...
try going into root and running grub-update. also, do not run it like: “$ sudo grub-update”, but as “$ su” and then “$ grub-update” that might fix the problem. also ensure you can boot into windows from bios.
on kde I like to create a folder and put all shortcuts there since it has this cool featurewm where you can see what’s inside a folder on the desktop without oppening it
I’ve always used Windows and am super comfortable with it. I have set up a dual boot with fedora but don’t use it because I have never identified a need to use it. I see a lot of windows hate, so what does Linux have that I need? What can motivate me to migrate? What is a good Linux to have for a desktop + steam?
the main reason are package managers, since the package managers on linux are much easier to use than winget(the one in windows). apart from that, there are not many other reasons to switch.

You know, I kind of miss that part of r/196. Made it feel more like a community. Now it feels kind of… empty? Sounds weird, I know but the lack of a lot of old denizens does show.
I like tuscan for it’s simplicity while not being irregular like Doric. Ionic is also really good looking. then there is composite. then corinthian then lastly doric.
not much use but you can actually still access files if they weren’t written upon since they are still there and only the address was destroyed. I did it once after accidentally wiping my hard drive and managed to get quite a lot of stuff back.
actually I also have an Nvidia GPU (1050 mobile i think) and it was not too hard to configure. also I think the newer generations are even easier to configure. PS. I am using open suse tumbleweed
thx! the theme itself is gruvbox light with a pink accent, and the wallpaper is really easy to make using krita or something similar, i made it myself.
