ech,

Are you suggesting selling out wasn’t a thing before Musk turned up?

ech,

I get this is absurd on purpose, but I don’t think having a decent amount of groceries on hand is crazy. I don’t drive and I aim to not have to go to the store every other day. 2 weeks seems about right for grocery store frequency.

ech,

Not really sure if this is for or against my comment (or just neither), but to clarify, I’m saying I do load up on 1-2 weeks of groceries without a car and I don’t think it’s unreasonable with or without a car.

ech,

I’m not saying that’s unreasonable either, tbf. I don’t live in walking distance to a grocery store, though, and neither do most people I suspect, so bigger shopping trips just make sense. It would definitely be nicer to have a store nearby, though!

ech,

So you’re saying it’s already cancelled again.

ech,

For anyone paying attention, it shouldn’t be. Anyone that goes back to business as usual fully deserves the rug pull when this or something worse is implemented again.

ech,

Can you blame them? Pirates have a fraught history with Crocodilia.

ech,

Right? It says he went “scorched-earth”, but that implies he has any sway over WB decisions. What would he do if they don’t listen to him? Whine about it on Twitter?

ech,

Ok? What does any of that matter? He has literally no control over WB no matter how much he’s worth.

ech,

WB doesn’t care about frivolous lawsuits, even from someone as rich as musk. Unless they were sued by him thousands of times at once, their legal costs are already baked into their financials, and if they were sued thousands of times at once, that’d be the easiest dismissal in history, as well as the quickest countersuit for damages.

The rich can bully the poor’s with legal fees, but not each other. That’s why we don’t see uncountable fruitless lawsuits between the powerful - it wouldn’t do anything.

ech,

Bricked as in it’s actual meaning of “it’s fundamentally broken and can only be replaced”? Or bricked in the incorrect sense that it works slightly less good?

ech,

Wasn’t this stat pretty skewed since it measures gross revenue and not units sold? So the Deck had a ~10x advantage over everything else?

ech,

I figured as much.

ech,

Has no bearing on my point. If you can fix it, it wasn’t “bricked” in any sense.

ech,

Is this what libertarians fantasize about playing city builders?

ech,

Honestly, my favorite part of survival games is the beginning.

ech,

Fair enough, hah

ech,

Considering that’s an under-21 license, that was a really optimistic 11 year old.

ech,

That’s not a lot of beads…

ech,

54, but who’s counting.

ech,

The babybel still has eyes in the ‘real world’…

ech,

“These people were brutally attacked and many murdered, but there’s white people near a Buddhist statue! So cringe!” So fucked up.

ech,

Assumed it was a christian school based on her comment. A public school pulling this is absolutely unacceptable.

ech, (edited )

That would be why it’s unacceptable, yes.

ech,

It’s remarkable how little the alterations here actually change the scene.

Also, fork yeah The Good Place! I adore this show.

ech, (edited )

The state of video games is wild to see. People will play a hundred hours of a game and say it’s lacking. Players expect endless content and it’s honestly unhealthy for gaming at large.

ech,

“Oh no! I’m out of money! Guess you’ll have to stop suing me” shrug

ech,

You’re thinking of TARS. The TARDIS is Ironman’s suit AI.

ech,

I don’t really see the “sucking trump’s dick” aspect there. Most of the video is spent going over the legal framework that was being used by the administration with little to no editorializing. And the end of the video directly calls the politicization of the emergency powers a threat. If anything, I’d say the video was critical of trump, not supportive of him.

ech,

It’s not that bad. Kinda pointless, tbh, particularly for a channel that’s focused on vfx, but it’s not biased like they’re claiming.

ech,

Intellect is knowing “the monster” was essentially the doctor’s child and would share his last name.

ech,

It’s a bit dubious to call Victor his father

Why’s that?

ech,

That’s different how?

ech,

From the makers of Shark Pool!

All I could think of watching that.

ech,

Claiming this is due to religion isn’t accurate. This happens all the time due to plain old misogyny. Women have a tough time getting proper medical treatment at all, not just when it overlaps with religious fruitcakes.

ech,

Remember that woman that was in the news for weeks for “sleeping around”? What a load of bs. Nobody cared about the men, just the woman who wasn’t being “proper”. And that apparently qualified as nation-wide newsworthy.

ech,

Lotta people coming here from Reddit expecting 1:1 replacement, and then get pissy that the 2 man dev team that’s just trying to keep up with this sudden burst in activity isn’t at parity with the multi-million dollar company that’s been developing their site for almost 2 decades.

Honestly, I’m just tired of the constant comparison. Lemmy can be it’s own thing. It’s a work in progress and it has a lot of promise, but for anyone looking for their reddit experience, there’s really only one place to get that.

ech,

“Enshittification” is the wrong word for everything. It is both often used incorrectly for what it means, and doesn’t even represent what it means well. People just like it because it has the word shit in it. It’s a bad term and I can’t wait for it to fall into obscurity.

ech,

Fuck Steve Harvey, though.

ech,

Just an overall bad person. Cheated on wife and says it’s women’s fault men cheat. That kind of shit.

Here’s a good sampling: www.youtube.com/watch?v=az0BJRQ1cqM

ech,

It’s in the video I linked

ech,

As tradition demands.

ech,

They wouldn’t be able to see content or comments from your instance, but you could see theirs and comment, which other instances that aren’t defederated with you could also see.

ech,

Thought this was an interesting addition, but I see they figured out a way to ruin it from the start.

ech,

Active sorting orders posts by most recent comment, with a preference for newer and higher voted posts.

It’s explained a bit in the documentation:
