I had settled on Fedora but after that debacle I decided to move to OpenSUSE - no complaints there.

‘sudo zypper ref’ and ‘sudo zypper dup’ (or up on leap) has done the trick for me. It’s a bit slow though true.

Being able to use .rpm files is nice though

Recommendations for OS on a rpi 4B (outside of RaspPiOS)

Quickly wondering what people recommend as OS for a rpi model 4b, outside of the RaspPiOS ofc. I want to use the RPI for all networking related stuff (dont worry its not using an sd-card). So PiHole, and I’ll also want to use it as my exit-node out of my Tailnet. I will also run ProtonVPN on it so that all my devices...

There’s a method of language learning - comprehensible input - that is basically this.

Though you need to start by watching/listening things you can actually understand. So start with Peppa Pig level, where they use basic vocabulary, repeat often, and use many visual aids, then work up to content for adults.

Trouble is finding enough learner level content to watch (without going insane). You need many hundreds of hours of content that you understand 90-95% of.

But even if you start with content way too advanced you’d be surprised what many hundreds of hours of listening to a language can do. Not efficient or recommended, but if they’re ACTIVELY listening to the sounds of the language they could pick up a lot of meaning over such large amounts of time.

You know how many are about to die just getting out? How many will die because they couldn’t get out in time?

Tens of thousands. The ones who do make it out will be homeless and destitute. More dead. Food and water situation in the south is going to be abysmal. More dead.

Any settler with citizenship elsewhere should leave, stolen land given back to Palestinians, massive reparations paid, and the current Israeli government dissolved and replaced with a single Palestine government fairly representing all.

Barring that, at least stop genociding Palestinians, that would be a decent start.

It’s not like they’re attacking Israel for no reason - they’ve had their home stolen, their people slaughtered, and what’s left of them concentrated into a small, extremely dense outdoor prison. Their violence is only a reflection of Israeli violence.

That’s what could be done.

It seems your issue isn’t that civilians are dead, but that you are actually paying attention and seeing it now that it’s happening to the colonizers. When it happens in Gaza you don’t pay attention to the images, you don’t empathize with the families destroyed.

But now there’s a relatively (to all that the IDF has done) small attack from Palestine and suddenly it’s front page news everywhere.
