Better question is do y’all wipe from the front or the back? I always do front cuz I don’t have to try and wiggle my hand between the seat and my ass or scoot to the edge. I’m looked at like I’m crazy whenever somebody says “ew who wipes from the front?”
A viral TikTok account is doxing ordinary and otherwise anonymous people on the internet using off-the-shelf facial recognition technology, creating content and growing a following by taking advantage of a fundamental new truth: privacy is now essentially dead in public spaces.
Material Files - Root file explorer FOSS and no ads
Termux - Terminal emulator
GAppsMod - enable call recording in United States
ReVanced Manager - Spiritual successor of YouTube vanced, works for more than just YouTube
Substratum - theme engine, needs to be combined with a theme pack and most are not free
Swift Backup - backs up app data, calls, messages, etc to cloud. Can set it to use WebDAV, SMB, SFTP, S3, etc. Can also back up locally
XPosed / LSPosed
Dark eyes tricks - general system mods, mostly use it for “Power key to toggle torch”
Snap Enhance - if you need Snapchat to communicate with half of you friends you can nuke most ads, get download options, screenshot without sending a message, view chats without marking them as read, enable dark mode, and others I don’t use
XPosed Edge Pro - let’s you bind actions to triggers. I use it to get a Samsung like app drawer from the side of my screen, but you can bind keys, gestures, schedules, app states, just overall useful
Magisk Modules
AOSP Mods -let’s you configure a bunch of stuff in near vanilla roms
Universal SafetyNet Fix - V2.4.0-MOD_1.2, allows banking and Google pay to work, as well as any app that blocks root. Add to magisk deny list
I noticed today I was having to use fingerprint unlock every time I wanted to access my 6a, even though normally I use Smart Lock to keep my phone unlocked when it’s near my Bluetooth watch. I just checked through the settings and Smart Lock has disappeared, as has on-body detection. Has this happened to anybody else?
DROP 01 is going to be a Netflix event for their upcoming animated shows. They’ll show new trailers and sneak peaks (and maybe announcements) in the livestream on September 27, along with Castlevania Nocturne’s premiere....
I’m not sure what’s so hard about this, I get that 2g goes further for emergencies but it’s basically useless for anything else, have it be enabled if needed (and communicate that with users when first disabling it)
Google Apple and Samsung are all working on / have satellite SOS, which should replace the long term need here
“were seriously wondering if we can trust unity moving forward”
You can’t. If you have to wonder you can’t. Unity cooked their goose and showed that they are not your friends and will take every opportunity to fuck you over.
Because I like to be able to span my three monitors and also be able to click buttons. It hasn’t affected video games since most use raw input or have an option to
Huh didn’t realize that would’ve come with 32 bit so recently. I ran a z2 force up until about 2 years ago when it stopped holding a charge. Those old Motorolas were great phones, but I haven’t found anything in their recent line that interested me. Ended up going with a Pixel 6 and then a 7 pro, my dad needed an update from his z2 force and it was cheaper if I just gave him mine and upgraded. Haven’t had any issues with the pixels, except for my sister dropping her 2xl and breaking the screen. Anything you get eventually though get unlocked. Tensor has a bunch of custom roms now so anything you upgrade will last for a while.
Nah the demands aren’t crazy, they all used to be standard until the mass enshitification hit. My sister’s boyfriend found one that had almost all of those bar from the hole punch and the trustworthy manufacturer (some off brand Chinese company I don’t remember off the top of my head). Even had a thermal camera on it which was cool
Let’s be honest, the majority here probably has a github account. Some of us are happy as a clam and wouldn’t switch no matter what happened, but there are some who would and haven’t yet. Why?
I hope that charging for basic stuff never comes. I doubt it since like the first thing MSFT did after buying it was to make some pro stuff free (like private repos)
Generally curious what everyone thinks, just to start a discussion. I personally like the move to USB-C, but wish that 3.0 was available on the entire line. Colors of both the 15 and 15 Pro are a big miss for me though
Tbh I get the 2.0 on the normal iPhone. They’re using last gen chip (a16) which doesn’t have the 3.0 controller on board. New gen chip has it (a17) and will likely be present on the base model next year.
i cannot possibly express how much of a gigantic pain in the ass this is; it’s making more more slovenly than i want to be because it’s such an inconvenience to throw stuff away....
There’s a guy that throws his trash out the window on TikTok. If it makes it in the can it’s a good week and if he misses it’s a bad week. Calls it the garboscope. My point here is that you can at least skip the stairs
I’d bet that you’ve got a 10/100 adapter and not a 10/100/1000 adapter. Manufacturer saves a buck but they’re not very useful anymore. Try it in a laptop and see what you get
I had high hopes for Empyrion but it blossomed like I had hoped it would. Bought it around 2016 and it still looks basically the same. AI still walks around like they shit their pants and guns feel like I’m shooting with a slide whistle.
Realistically the partition size is going to be 4GB and you’re going to have whatever is left assigned to user data. You’ll never be able to write user data to that 4GB (without resizing and moving the partition at least), so for all intents and purposes 4GB is being used for the system, even if not actively in use. I believe that on a/b systems the partition actually is double the size, as it’s got the new update (or old update) next to the running system.
Honestly I don’t really have a problem with this. I’m my experience, my actual system will be 3.7GB, but could easily be taken up by an update. I’ve also had issues with smaller partitions not being able to flash modifications to them.
4GB specifically for a raspberry pi build, and I believe I had to resize my 2xl to flash gapps on a rom
Because they’re not earning those millions from users. I have no data to back this up, but I’m sure even the Linux users that do play are less likely to spend money on the game.
Is it one that you just use and works just fine? Or one that has proven to be reliable and responsible if they do a mistake and only want to satisfy you as a customer?
I just moved my registrar from namecheap to cloudflare since they started supporting .dev domains and it’s infinitely better. Was already using them for the dns challenges cuz I’m not paying for SSL certs.

I am looking at getting one as my next phone when my Pixel 7 reaches EOL. Hopefully the Fairphones are still around by then and hopefully they get more support from custom ROMs. I know CalyxOS supports the Fairphone 4
Unpopular opinion but I much prefer having polished hardware like on my Pixel 7 pro and have to melt glue to repair it, all while being able to update the software after eol (lineage, pixel experience, graphene, etc) than to have an already last gen phone that’ll only last for a few years more officially.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m absolutely behind For, but I can’t even get one in the United States. Framework on the other hand has latest gen components in a repairable form factor. I’m just waiting on a 2-in-1 from them.

Cinnamon has been doing a great job for me. On ubuntu 22.10+ you can use sudo apt-get install ubuntucinnamon* and it’ll install a themed version (but lightdm3 shows Ubuntu 22.04 for some reason)
I’m assuming this is for patching an ota file. Right now I download the factory image and patch the init_boot.img from that, and flash it after I download and flash the OTA. I guess this means I don’t have to download both
I’ve personally got a pixel, and Google makes the factory images freely available. If I remember right my old Motorola had a desktop updater app that you could install if you set the USB mode on your phone to something like “installer” or similar. I could grab OTA files from the cache on the updater.
