Would love to know what you guys think and your reasoning for it. I’m starting to see a lot of Apple Watches/Fitbits/Galaxy Watches in my area compared to more traditional timepieces.
Never understood the issue with daily charging. Unless you need to track your sleep cycle (which I’ve also never really understood, but to each their own), what’s the problem with putting it on a charger each night before bed?

I’ve been thinking about something and want to check an assumption I have. I only hear directly from other people in the USA, and interract with the global community through memes. How are the gun regulations/laws different from yours in terms of strictness, and do you wish there was more or less where you live?...
Everything here is correct, except the part about needing a gun safe. As long as they are stored in an area considered to be locked away from the public (e.g. your home) you’re good.

I obviously can’t access the post, but I read some of your comments, and I really wish I could. In your comments you make reasonable points, so I feel like your post probably runs in the same vein.
It actually has very little chocolate in it, that’s why. It was made (i think) during WW2 when chocolate was in short supply, so they came up with a way to stretch it, by mixing a bunch of hazelnuts (and w/e else is in there) with it.
I hate that I always compare Lemmy to Reddit, but Reddit used to have (not sure if they still do) guidelines called “Reddiquette” that included guidelines about upvoting and downvoting. My shuffle button is still a shuffle button, and the heart is still a heart. I also never get popups, but I also pay for it, so if you don’t maybe that’s why?
Once was enough for a lifetime for me. I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t really that much better than most amusement parks, and certainly not worth the price to go back. I can say I’ve been, and that’s enough for me.
Dating is fine, dating apps suck. That and people’s seeming unwillingness to pull themselves away from them, despite claiming to hate them. Go find a hobby, meet people there.
For the past few weeks I’ve been working on creating my own public radio station (it’s been a dream of mine since I was a kid). Well now it’s up and running but I don’t know what to do with it. So I thought I’d see what Lemmy thinks about the concept, before I go all in and start investing in licensing fees, better...
Beginning in 2024, workers will be allowed to contribute up to $23,000 to their 401(k), an increase of $500 from this year. The increase applies to other retirement savings accounts, including the 403(b) plan, most 457 plans and the federal government’s Thrift Savings Plan.
As a Canadian, I don’t know much a out how a 401(k) works. I’m hoping for your sakes it isn’t like Canada’s CPP, which is basically just the worlds largest ponzi scheme, and will likely collapse before anyone under 40 today retires. My whole life I’m essentially paying to prop up boomers in their retirement, and will see nothing when my time comes. But if I stop paying I go to prison.
