If a parent doesn’t want their kid seeing something adult on the internet, they shouldn’t let their kid use the internet or only under supervision. Besides, booba isn’t going to affect kids any worse than Twitch chat already does.

Well, when the mod author specifically says it’s to reduce diversity as the goal of the mod I think we all have a chance to point out that is insensitive and comes from a place of hatred. Hatred is wrong. Let the people speak against it and let the website host what it wants. I care enough to spend two min to leave a comment here, but I’m not gonna be a reaction youtuber about it.

Agreed. I’ll be staying with Lemmy. I don’t care about daily active user numbers, I care about how Spez is treating Reddit and having good post content. Redditors themselves (as a whole) are not a problem, and I have a plethora of good posts to go through when I get on every few days.

The general public has enough of a mental split if the right direction of the country that short of splitting it somehow a sucessful revolt will lead to more fighting. Also country is super big. I’m content fighting my little battles withing my family/friends and using our voting system as much as I’d prefer significant changes.

I have shared my thoughts here already, but ok. I’ll play along. I did consider it and it wouldn’t work due to a major split in the populace’s opinion, foreign powers that would get heavily involved, the sheer size of the country, and the inability for the revolutionary force to choose the correct moment to stop violent action.

I understand they faced similar problems, but disagree that it can be done again. The problems are vastly larger in scale, and physical barriers that would mitigate problems like foreign influence are easily ignored with advanced technology. E.G. Russian hackers messing with water treatment plants because our current government can’t implement a secure enough system.

Yes, I gave a simple example for ease of following my point. A simple example of thousands of potential targets that would all need to be secured by a new government faster than any one of the hostile powers that would want to capitalize on a revolution.

Also, you ask me to do better. I’ll try “harder” after you refute the other things I said. You get to put in that work first.

Youtube let the other shoe drop in their end-stage enshittification this week. Last month, they required you to turn on Youtube History to view the feed of youtube videos recommendations. That seems reasonable, so I did it. But I delete my history every 1 week instead of every 3 months. So they don’t get much from my choices....

Well, the last major update involved a huge shift in viability for different classes following the asteroid raid boss. I imagine this next patch will introduce something like rapid genetic mutation and drift to prepare for the next big update which is set to follow the limited-time climate or supervolcano event.

Tbf people my age and younger (barely below 1/2 the population) typically don’t use them in most careers or even learn about calipers in High School. My work was the first place that properly taught me how to measure internal diameter and depth.

I don’t agree. Inertia and momentum are not affected by a portal, even a moving one. If so, their legs would be stretched as they were partially through the portal till the body was being jerked away from the neck causing an even greated relative velocity compared to entering the portal.

If that is so, the train or portal would have to lose its momentum for the transfer to happen otherwise you’d be generating more relative velocity after the portal. I can’t imagine portals transfering monentum, only maintain it.

No way, the portal displaces space meaning it just allows gravity to work unimpeded adding more kinetic energy to the object. The potential energy during a “falling cycle” is infinite but infinitely removed when the spacial disruption is broken.
