I’m in the middle of a project right now that’s going to be released on an out-of-date engine because the newest versions broke backward compatibility and I’m too far along to port everything. If I had to change engines entirely at this point I’d have to cancel the entire project.
Uncut cherry tomatoes in a tortilla wrap. It’s actually what I’m eating right now (well, not just tomatoes; it’s also got chicken and chopped-up celery.)
The traditional role of the Select button is actually handled via the D-pad in most games. It was the button you used to change your selection, not to actually select something (that would be done with Start.)
Of course, even in the NES era past the first couple of years menus could generally be navigated with the D-pad, so even then Select was pretty useless, which is probably why the Genesis didn’t bother with it.
Yeah, the focus needs to be on specific issues where we can take immediate action to improve peoples’ lives. Trying to abstract things out to be about systems and ideologies just promotes complacency and paralysis. Every system can and will be corrupted. We need to identify the specific mechanisms through which that corruption is currently occurring and attack as many of them as we can every time an opportunity to do so presents itself. Wanking about some grand revolution that will solve everything everywhere just promotes inaction since that revolution will never come.
As more and more states pass laws targeting "pornographic material" in books and online, they are repeatedly running up against a problem: The Bible has not just a few passages that could be considered indecent
If that’s all the relevant information that they have I’d prefer that they keep the article short rather than bloat it out with a bunch of repetition and speculation.
I was just giving an example to refute the claim that The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was the first of its kind. I never claimed that my example was actually the first.
