I find it tedious to have to disable Microsoft crap that is switched on without my knowledge in windows. Get a copy of Autoruns to disable most of that crap at startup.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Pretty stupid thing to say.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Culture wars, Culture wars, Culture wars, Culture wars, Culture wars, Culture wars! Gotta keep those Culture wars going.

No one disputes that this could be a transcendence issue, but China’s continuous blocking any efforts that are not controlled by them makes any investigation suspect. The Chinese should have already hosted an investigation. This will have been presented to the initial who investigation. Any further investigations will have zero credibility.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

There are not supposed to be military establishments in the area. There were European scientist in the Wuhan facility before covid was active. This adds to the conspiracy theories. It may very well be that the origins came from the caves, but China does not help anyone in dissuading the narrative.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

China is under no obligation to dissuade the Euro-centric world from a conspiracy theory narrative

We have just had a world pandemic. Common sense states that we should be looking into that.

after a full century of humiliating China.

Humiliating China in what way?

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

I am not going to listen to arguments based on events from 200 years ago. My family were being starved in Ireland back then.

China was a closed nation for a very long time. Any developments in China are down to China themselves. Do you even know the term of the Cold War?

There were no friendly arrangements between the west and China until very recent. The hand of friendship has been extended due to the collapse of Russia and the west recognising the futility of being aggressive for the sake of being aggressive. China also opened it borders, something unthinkable before the USSR collapsed. Since the cooling of relations between the west and China, China has abused that hand of friendship in many areas. Is it any wonder that hostilities are building up again?

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Enjoy your life Chinese bot.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

1800 was not. China are supposed to be good at maths, wtf happened to you? They obviously do not spend a lot on bots these days.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Stating that China’s insistent interference does not make a conspiracy theory. It states a fact. If China does not negative comments, then it should not endorse negative actions.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

And China is still stealing land and minerals from other countries. What exactly is your point? That the only people who should respect fairness and equality are everyone else except China?

Go tell that to the Myanmar where you are currently stealing copper from mining, or the Uyghurs where genocide is very evident, or the many other areas China is nothing more than a shitty country to deal with. No owes China anything, and China certainly does not do anything for anyone else without self interest. You victimise your own people even when they are outside of your own borders. You intimidate the families of those who disagree with you. You steal kids from their home to reindoctrinate them. The list just keeps growing. China is not deserving of any respect, at least not anymore than the respect it gives to others.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Bad bot.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Why thank you very much. Please enjoy the next conversation you have where you present many other arguments with absolutely no foundation or basis.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

I guarantee that you are just another bot set up to deflect any negative comments about China regardless of how credible they seem.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

You missed the racist party out. You know the bit where everyone is racist, who points out the gaslighting Chinese bots proliferate on the internet.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

A bot who is so embarrassed about his origins that he has to resort to insults. It is beneath you, honestly. I thought you were much more expensive than this.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Good isn’t it

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Maybe later, you sad bigoted weeb.

You must realise the irony in this surely. Even a cheap bot like yourself cannot miss the definitions you use.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

You keep calling me a racist, and yet use terms like weeb. The only racist remarks I am seeing are from yourself.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

nuh uh

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Do better.

Lol my only purpose now is to wind you up. This stopped being a feasible conversation a long time ago when you tried associating the racist card as a valid argument.

It is very obvious you are a bot. You don’t even realise you are answering three threads of the same conversation simultaneously.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

O er, the racism card again.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

o er another racism card being used. You are running out.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Strike three, you 're out!

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Yep if you cannot beat the argument call them stupid. Poor coding Mrs bot.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Cya later bot. This was fun. 9 separate replies now. This is a new game to me, I may do this again.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

How can they convict someone on lack of evidence that they are innocent? She could have passed out for what ever reason and was not in control at all. A shocking travesty of life and justice imo.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

There should definitely be better trigger points added to healthcare and warnings to signify either errors of judgement or malice. My opinion of the management involved in this case is also very low. The parents also deserve justice with the failings in that area.

The mental health side of things should be taught in schools to let people know when things are abnormal. No one tells you that it is normal to have some of the syndromes that affect all of us in our daily lives. Without realising there is an issue, people can easily blow things up and create spirals that are hard to get out of. Mental health should not just be down to professionals, just like physical health having some awareness of good/bad can go a long way.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Or you could join a union and learn about your rights.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

You still have rights. Everyone should have a contract by law. Joining a union will get you advice on those rights. Your negative attitude is a primary cause that the Tories have gotten away with so much.

I agree the Tories have eroded rights past the point of reason, and even those right we have are more difficult to defend. P and O being a case in point. The Tories even kept them (P and O) in line for a £300m contract after this. That does not mean we should not defend those rights. Being complacent is a terrible route to just meander into.

Full fact shows the average wages dropped by £20 per week in 2018 from 2008. We have had 3 more years since then and now it is very obvious that it is a lot worse. The young and the poorest feeling it the most. A union sub is £10 per month on average. If everyone was in a union then the whole country’s contracted labour force would be £30 per month better off. Not being in a union is a false economy.

If nothing else please make sure you vote when we get the chance.

Denys Davydov did video on these type of comments about a week ago. He dragged up a lot of newspaper front pages of the invasion of the Nazis in 1945. There was a ton of articles stating just how slow the move was going. An attacking force is always going to have a hard time against a very entrenched enemy. You also have to remember Ukraine does not have a good air force until they get those pilots trained up for the F-16. They are making gains and are knocking on the second defence line in two areas. Any gains Russia has made they loose 2 days later, with the exception of Bakhmut.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Precisely the point. The allies had air superiority. Ukraine does not, therefore you cannot expect the same gains.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

OFC he is not impartial. The media articles he linked were partisan towards the allies mentioned in them. Even in their own press the allies were referred to as being slow. This was not seen as a criticism. Germany were seen as a formidable force to be reckoned with. The fact they were even moving in the right direction at all was to be commended. There was an understanding that the task was difficult, much like Ukraine removing Russia is now.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

O aye, can you link to that headline?

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

So it is a lie that they have broken through to Robotyne?

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

It was because of the Russian offensive that the Germans were defeated. Anyone with an interest in history knows that. Without Russia there was no beating Germany.

D-day landings were 175k men, the invasion force was a 3m strong multinational force.

I disagree that Ukraine should defer to a peace treaty, while the west supports them. It is western hardware that is making the difference. Ukraine knows this. It states it publicly and often. Russia are not making any gains against Ukraine now the Wagner have left the field. What Wagner committed in Bakhmut was unsustainable, and arguably the limits of where it was going to get to. Since Russia is nothing more than a crumbling obstacle now, why would Ukraine give ground to Russia. The Ruble has collapsed. There is dissent at the top now with daggers out for scapegoats. The damage Prigozhin did is still making its mark. All the war is doing is making Russia more and more indebted to China. China is happy to sell Russia arms to watch it destroy itself.

Russia’s best outcome right now would be to be able walk away without incurring reparations cost for the carnage they have reaped. However, I doubt this will be seen as acceptable.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Russia have left Robotyne and those black lines are defence lines. The deep state map is always a few days behind.

Ukraine has also committed the 82 brigade into that area to push further forward. All of which has been made possible with the newer method of mine detecting.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

A bit of a stark difference between the belligerents isn’t it. One has a corrupt army that cannot fight due to the restrictions that corruption that has caused. The other stamped on corruption when it was revealed. The only win Russia will see from this travesty is if they decide en masse to remove the corrupt blight that infects their country.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

What?

It was a 100 years ago. No one had any dealings with Russia for near fifty years between then and now. And outside of NATO Ukraine wishes to be in the EU, which is a competitor to the USA.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

The next few winters are going to be extremely cold. Get wrapped up and enjoy that discussion.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Monopolies have been allowed to take over large portions of the markets (amazon, google, windows etc). Startups need more backing and protection from government sources. Without competition we get screwed in the long term.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Oil companies are gouging the planet and Microsoft has no real competition. That doesn’t hold much water imo.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

The tory is strong in this one. You ofc can work out 10% inflation means 10% more tax income. Keep your stupid for GB news.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

We cannot afford to give people what they need is a constant Tory theme. We cannot afford the NHS, social benefits, care for the disabled.

You still cannot deny that 10% inflation should mean 10% extra taxes returned. And as such we can afford it. We could afford it even more if the well off paid a fair amount of tax or may be we stopped giving money to oil companies instead of actually taxing them.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

I hate scepticism over vaccines, but when it has just been announced that vaccines can be sold to the public for around £100 each, and then this comes along. They say ignore how many are being admitted to hospital as other consequences are more dangerous.

I have followed the hospital rates as a metric for over a year now. I don’t see any other metric as valid. The death rate is reduced as the most vulnerable have been seen off. The reporting rate is non-existent because people are not interested anymore. People are under pressure to attend work with covid now, so why would they bother with the testing kits. Patients in hospital is the most sensible data point to me.

Why are we not being told of which areas are showing the most cases? Covid cases are drastically reduced now. Which hospitals are taking in large amounts of cases?

It would be stupid to take unnecessary risks, but this has a bad smell of fear mongering to sell vaccines around it for me.

Syldon,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

I don’t argue against taking precautions. I agree that people should not take things for granted and protect themselves. I even added the proviso:

It would be stupid to take unnecessary risks

Vaccines work, I am far from anti vaccine. If the government procured the vaccines and were using them across the population, then I would be all for it. When you add a £100 price tag into the equation then you take more time to consider your options.

There is one thing that is indisputable regarding the drop in cases which can easily be matched against hospital admissions. When everyone was tracking covid infections with tests hospital admissions went up at the same time as positive covid infection went up. We do not have a credible method of tracking infections because of the reasons I have already stated, with the exception of people who are suffering so badly that they need to be admitted in for professional care. We are being asked to ignore what I see as a credible data source at the same time as vaccines have become available at a cost.

If you wish to track the data then by all means fill your boots: coronavirus.data.gov.uk

If you want the advice she is given to be taken with more ardour from myself, then give me something to see with infection rates, deaths or recorded issues.
