The reason all cops are bastards is that it’s incentivized by the police force itself. Cops who speak up about the misbehaviour of other actual bastard cops, are mistreated and even pushed out. This leads to a situation where they will look the other way when shitty cops do shitty cop things, in order to keep their job or feel safe or just not have a terrible time at work. But by looking the other way, they have been corrupted and are a huge part of the problem.
I’m sure logically there are some niche situations where a cop has never faced that choice and hasn’t done anything morally reprehensible themselves, but ACAB is more about the corruption necessitated by the system than the actual day to day conduct of cops who aren’t directly evil. Of course it’s good that someone stops people on murderous rampages, but the system supporting those people is broken in a very dangerous way that lets them also get away with terrible crimes.

I had this same thing happen with a friend of mine, he was being manipulated by his partner at the time, 1 slow motion train crash later, he got diagnosed with bipolar, medicated and stabilized. We talk a bit again, it’s nice to see him in a stable place. But if someone refuses to hear what the therapist says and dismisses them or hides information from them they aren’t really going to be able to get proper help.

Hi, as the title says I’m a new developer and some days ago I was diagnosed. My diagnose journey started because I’m unable to be consistent (That’s not something new) and it is making me really depressed....
My problem is more the actual motivation (executive dysfunction really) than memory, I can usually look back at what I was doing enough to pick it back up later. I try to add things to a notepad on my phone when I remember it exists and I should do it, but having things written down doesn’t seem to have a ton of impact on whether or not it will be completed. I don’t really understand how this helps you get the motivation to actually do these things, but it probably depends on what it is we each struggle with. How does memory keep you motivated? By reminding you of why you care about doing something maybe?
I struggle with doing anything beyond the bare necessities to get out the door in the morning before work, cause night person in a day world. But I do have the very brisk morning walks when I’m running a few minutes late (often). At work I have extrinsic motivation so that’s usually fine, but doing things to take care of my life self and growth after work I am often pretty useless. Do you think trying to get dopamine up again after work?
Often it’s most efficient for me to to just slide right into chores when I get home without losing my work vibe/fast state, but it’s tiring, and tends to push eating and drinking down the priority list even further… I feel just poorly balanced in general. Yes, it’s true the few things I have habits for are the ones I can do pretty consistently, not 100% of course, and sometimes I get the feeling after I already walked out the door and have to go back and check lol. I do agree that habits and schedules and stuff can be really good for people with adhd but they are also really difficult to self- impose. I used to have a sticky note posted in my house somewhere prominent to remind me of some things I should do every day, like drink water, but eventually it gets moved or passed over or I’m in a hurry a few days in a row and it’s gone. I’m not trying to be defeatist, I know there are strategies to help, and I appreciate any and all advice, as I’m definitely in need of some changes.

She needs more walks outside into interesting places where she can see new things and smells etc. The best way to deal with this is tiring her out with significant physical activity. Swimming is good and she should like that for her breed. Just being tied on a lead all day by herself in the same old yard is not enough. They don’t need to go to an actual dog park, but they need real walks!!
Also, golden doodles are known to be stubborn idiots.
Going outside into the backyard every day for hours isn’t enough, at least not for her breed - your older beagle probably cares less. Dogs need actual walks, out to new places. Big hour long ones.
She needs the mileage. Really truly needs it. Take her somewhere walking where there aren’t other dogs as soon as your vet clears it. If your vet has cleared it already your own worry is not worth depriving her of this
Banff is an extremely busy park so unless they are willing to close that trail/bear’s territory to the public, there aren’t a lot of other good options. If the bear has decided people are a threat/food, relocating it would also be difficult and may introduce some liability.
I agree with you completely. I made my guess because they usually mention if a bear had cubs present during an attack, but it is an oversimplification to say the bear decided to see people that way for sure. All I meant by it is, once a bear is triggered into overcoming that fear or wariness and attacking/killing and possibly eating a human, there is a higher risk of them doing so again (unsurprisingly, if the behaviour was successful from the bear’s perspective).
It is a very arrogant and anthrocentric approach. I don’t condone it but I also don’t expect anything better (such as reducing human encroachment into their territory) because I am rightfully(?) jaded.

Most cats in cities do not live outside, cats are not native to most places they occupy, and most people do not let invasive pets they keep outside to poop on property shared with others without cleaning it up. And cities would be worse off if they did.
I think while they may be a bit distasteful to some, you can’t really start considering unclothed animals as nude or most photos of them would be breaking the rules…

Don’t take your neighbours pet away. Don’t punish an animal that doesn’t know it’s doing anything wrong, punish the owner… by reporting them. Or relocating the cat shit to their front step. Or you can start by just talking to them
Maybe they don’t realize how far they’re wandering, it’s just worth a shot is all. It’s not the only option available anyway, people absolutely can get fines handed out as well. I have more aggressive location ideas where the cat poop can be placed as well…
The reason to care about that is to improve your chances of solving the problem. If it turns out they are doing that unintentionally, talking to them may fix or reduce your problem, pretty straightforward.
