Skimmed a bit of the diary at the link: one part he’s talking about setting up the bakery in a factory, next paragraph he’s talking about how much he hates the Jerries (Germans) and nobody in his baking unit would take a prisoner, he’s itching to slit one of their throats. He calls the Jerries “he.”

Friend, it’s a comedy special. He’s a comedian. It’s not like when one of these bigots says a bunch of biggoted shit and then tries to escape responsibility by saying they were just joking. Dave Chapelle is actually telling jokes, though.

And get this…you don’t need to laugh at it. But the special you’re quoting from was filmed in front of a live show and was a smash hit, and that’s to be expected because dude fairly consistently brings the house down wherever he goes. The crowds have voted. There’s no such thing as a successful comedian who isn’t funny to most people and plenty of Chappelle fans, comedy fans, and comedians, say Dave Chappelle is the living GOAT.

The bill of rights does not add any new right did not already then exist at common law.

It follows that the state is what may regulate the militia.

I wrote about this exactly thing in college philosophy coursework 20 years ago.

I concluded that homer had an abuser mentality, that he would have understood his abuse “as tough love.” There’s an episode where he strangles Bart and gets all sad about “why do you make me strangle you?” or something to that effect. And another where he starts strangling Bart but then realizes Bart actually did the right thing, and he stops strangling him and they have a nice father son moment.

My takeaway is that Homer is a complicated guy. He’s both good and bad, as I suspect are we all. Also hurt people, hurt people.

The fifth Amendment would not apply to the allegations in the civil complaint. It’s still applies to his testimony with regard to uncharged criminal conduct. In other words, he cannot be required to testify in the civil case to something that would incriminate him in an uncharged criminal matter. At least that’s my understanding as an attorney, however, I admit I never have to deal with this issue and the one time it almost came up, the other lawyer never asked my witness the right questions.
