SkaveRat,

open carrying a fucking ak-47

now I’d love to know how to conceal-carry an AK47.

“Is that an AK in your pants or are you just happy to see me?”

Polish Hackers Repaired Trains the Manufacturer Artificially Bricked. Now The Train Company Is Threatening Them (www.404media.co)

In one of the coolest and more outrageous repair stories in quite some time, three white-hat hackers helped a regional rail company in southwest Poland unbrick a train that had been artificially rendered inoperable by the train’s manufacturer after an independent maintenance company worked on it. The train’s manufacturer is...

SkaveRat,

Okay, but now we need to upgrade those industrial fans to noctua

SkaveRat,

That’s the neat part. I don’t

Can anyone else feel sensations in their brain?

Last time I checked there aren’t nerve endings in our brain, so it should be impossible to feel sensations in my brain. However, at random times during my life, like seeing the plot twist in Fight Club for example, I’ve felt feelings in my brain. I just felt it again now while doing some intense introspection, and I just...

SkaveRat,

What the fuck are you doing in your life and have you thought about not doing that?

SkaveRat,

feel like mini heroes

ಠ_ಠ

SkaveRat,

I have a thing-grabber, tongs, and a tall person

is that all the same person?

SkaveRat,

McD.

20 or so years ago I had several bad experiences back to back in different restaurants, and I just decided to not go there anymore.

And EA. Fuck them

SkaveRat,

Turns out, it’s not the blast that throws then around, they are all sitting on ejection seats

SkaveRat,

SkaveRat,

Ah yes. The interconnected Goslingverse

SkaveRat,

Don’t forget getting abducted by aliens and getting really into fonts

SkaveRat,

I’d report that shit to the police immediately if I ever saw a lie on the internet

SkaveRat,

for about a year, the 3rd video in my sidebar recommendation list is a video that is related to the topic, but generally only has <100 views. most of the time unter 20 views.

And it’s always the 3rd video

‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’ Creator Breaks Down

SkaveRat,

I was massively confused when he explained how he edited the zoom-transitions in the beginning.

In short: The zooms and information is done via Google Earth.

He switched to blender for the last couple of videos, but man…

SkaveRat,

Here points and gets zapped dead

SkaveRat,

Now we just need to have services using it.

Anyone got a good overview of Do’s and Don’ts for developers? Would love to integrate it into my services

SkaveRat,

no, butts are over at pornhub

SkaveRat,

Mainly because it is a scam

SkaveRat,

it’s the short version. The local post office will recognize it

SkaveRat,

wait, people still use threads?

SkaveRat,

it’s passkeys. they are getting integrated in a lot of stuff right now, including password managers like bitwarden

SkaveRat,

papercut?

yup, that’s a bombin’

SkaveRat,

I know I have the DNA relative feature enabled but I would’ve never imagined that was scrapeable and a vulnerability.

if it’s viewable in a browser, it can be scraped.

You can make it more annoying for scrapers, but in the end, you need to show stuff to your users, and that’s what scrapers basically emulate in the end.

And as for being a vulnerability: Finding the murderer of a cold case

SkaveRat,

coal be like breakfast cereal

I’m struggling to understand this metaphor

SkaveRat,

The pentagon is running low on cash?

Sure.

Now that we're finally out of reddit, can we finally get different tag for NSFW and NSFL?

For the uninitiated, generally NSFW is for sexual contents and NSFL is for gory contents. People may want to see one but not see the other at any time for any reason. I have seen this feature requested over the years in Reddit but it never happens. Maybe now some instance can finally implement it?

SkaveRat,

yes, and that’s why this post exists

SkaveRat,

because it can be used to automatically filter out content you want to see from content you don’t want to see

SkaveRat,

no, because it would also filter out stuff like this post, that just discusses it, but the content being generally okay

SkaveRat,

I once plugged a usb plug in on the first try

SkaveRat,

I’ve been in way too long Google meet calls with that amount of people.

In theory it should work, but I’m not 100% sure if long calls are maybe a business customer feature

SkaveRat,

Funnily enough, it is actually Ratatouille for me

SkaveRat,

note that “everything” doesn’t mean everything. It will show you all posts your local instance pulled in via federation (e.g. when someone else on your instance subscribed to it). Depending on how active the instance is you are on, it will have very different results

What do you think of framework and their methods? (frame.work)

We are not sustainableAnd neither is any other device maker. This industry is full of “feel good” messaging, but generates 50 million metric tons of e-waste each year. We believe the best way to reduce environmental impact is to create products that last longer, meaning fewer new ones need to be made. Instead of operating on...

SkaveRat,

even if high than the competition

it’s not even higher in some cases.

Was looking for a new work laptop a year or so ago, and compared a thinkpad with framework. Same exact hardware inside, and the price difference was 50ct. With the thinnkpad having poorer upgradability, soldered on ram and (imo) worse build quality.

It was the perfect way to test out a framework, and now I own one for personal use as well

SkaveRat,

yes, that’s their whole selling point

SkaveRat,

Ohh, it’s the jaw of the whale in the thumbnail

SkaveRat,

Musk’s remarks aside (because anything he says is basically filtered through is “”“grand visions”“”), the cases in the article seem like somewhat standard animal testing cases.

The only borderline case would be Animal 15, imo. Having her live with an implant for “months” while it seems uncomfortable seems cruel, but even there I could see why they did it.

In the grand scheme of things, it’s by far not the worst things we’re doing with animal testing. Be it rodents or primates.

It some point, tech like this needs to be tested against living organisms (if we want to advance in this area of tech)

SkaveRat,

I started pirating their shows, even though I pay for prime. Their UX is just so absolutely bad, that it was easier to use torrents

SkaveRat,

you laugh, but you can exfiltrate data out of airgapped systems by flashing lights
