Minimum wage here where I am is going to $15.30 oct 1st (Canuck bucks) and I don’t think it’s enough considering how expensive things are nowadays.

I don’t see how someone on minimum wage can even make ends meet in a lot of places. I live in the boonies and rent in my area is stupid, never mind what they’re asking in the city.

When I first moved out on my own, I rented a three bedroom two story house for $300 a month, but you could find places for less. Now in the same general area the cheapest I’ve seen is around $1500 for a shithole and is typically much higher than that ($2000-2500 and up) if you don’t want something held together with duct tape and wishful thinking… and you still have to factor in the drive to work, considering I’m about a half hour from the nearest city.

I actually find it’s less sluggish with android 11 than it originally was… but then again I don’t have a lot of apps on it, mainly firefox, Rethink (firewall), Voyager (lemmy frontend that uses firefox), Adaway, and a few other ones. I don’t have any games or anything on it, I only game on my pc anyway.

The bloatware that it originally came with did nothing for performance, that’s for sure.

I agree, I don’t think any one system is the answer, they all have their strengths and weaknesses… a combination of them would be a better idea.

Ya it seems they just reworded it… that setting used to say “Send websites a “Do Not Track” signal that you don’t want to be tracked”

You’re right, I didn’t even see that. I just updated firefox to 118 and I still only have the “send websites a do not track signal” on mine… unless this is something on a beta version maybe? i.imgur.com/7qYnSGz.png

I kind of do that all the time with store bought pizzas… after I cook them I simply fold them in half and eat. (Sort of like a big pizza pop/calzone)

I have and the downvotes are mainly because it looks like you’re overblowing things, and the fact you’re posting this everywhere isn’t really proving otherwise.

I get what you’re talking about, but it’s not that big of a deal. Reddit sucks, and we all know there’s assholes there but you seem a little worked up over all of this. You should find something else to keep your mind busy for a little while and relax a bit. Nothing is going anywhere and you’ll have time to clear your head. We will all still be here when you get back, don’t worry.

Even on home turf it’s not great if the enemy/terrorists can find out where your equipment is. Pearl Harbor was on US soil.

Obviously it would be nice in this specific scenario, but how often would that really be useful in comparison to the potential security issues that comes along with it?

No expert, but I’d think tracking devices on military equipment would be a pretty bad idea… especially if you can’t guarantee who else can pick up those signals.

My ex used to hide dirty dishes in the oven. One time I was going to make something and started pre-heating the oven not realizing she was squirreling dishes away in it. We lost a bunch of tupperware containers that day, which essentially melted down through the racks and onto the element.

To this day I always check the oven before turning it on now, even though we haven’t been together for nearly 20 years.

I guess they have their use, but I dislike green extension cords. my daughter has a few of them, and she tends to leave them laying in the grass when I go over to mow her yard.

Some smart tvs’s will whine incessantly about not having the internet.

Thankfully mine (Philips) only bitched about it for about a week, and gave up. Now the only real complaint I have with it is that it takes forever to boot, considering it has to fire up android after it’s been off.

It’s the one reason I like my shitty little house. My 4 12" subs on my home theater system are not exactly apartment friendly.

Unfortunately that also means having a yard that I hate mowing in the summer, and loathe having to shovel in the winter.

Andriod tv’s take a long time to boot because they literally have to boot an operating system when they fire up, there’s no way around that in any settings.

That said, I don’t have any of the other issues because my tv has never had net access and I have a pc with wireless keyboard/mouse hooked to it, and typing this while sitting on my couch.

You can already buy pump spray bottles of wd-40 since at least the 90’s, and they can adapt the straw.

besides, Wd-40 in the US already complies with the new Canadian standard. Canada is just slow updating the regulations compared to the states.

Canada’s new regulations calls for no more than 25% VOC. The states enacted the same kind of law years ago, and the wd-40 down there is only at 10-15%.

So in other words, this new law is still behind the US regulations and we’re only starting to catch up.

To be honest I don’t find wd-40 all that great to start with, there are better options, although usually pricier. But I don’t think it’s near as bad as you’re making it out to be.

The states pushed a similar law through years ago, and The wd-40 sold in the states already complies with the new Canadian laws of less than 25% (It has 10-20% as per …wd40.com/…/wd-40_specialist_spray_stay_gel_lubri… ) and there hasn’t been any problems with its effectiveness.

I find if you “overreact” a little when they bite a bit too hard, they usually get the hint pretty quick. Beezly the kitten has pretty much figured it out now, although she still thinks climbing my leg as if it’s a tree trunk is the greatest thing ever, especially when I’m trying to get her food ready. She tends to forget manners when she get excited in the least bit.
