Who needs to hear when you can feel the sound?

Speakers overkill? Is that even possible? (Don’t mind the mess. What’s not shown is the center and surrounds. I have the left side grills off to show the speakers themselves.) https://i.imgur.com/VfBrqku.jpg

Seems to be so far, thanks!

Rocketpoweredgorilla, to privacyguides in Marketing Company Claims That It Actually Is Listening to Your Phone and Smart Speakers to Target Ads
@Rocketpoweredgorilla@lemmy.ca avatar

When I was a kid there were some things I’d see and wanted, only to get them and be seriously disappointed. I learned quickly that ads are fluff.

Nowadays, I actively stay away from things I’ve seen advertised. The way I see it is if a company has to pay tons of money to get their product seen, it can’t be all that good to start with. Genuinely good products don’t need to try and convince you they’re worth it.

old.lemmy.ca is having issues with the update as well. voting doesn’t seem to always work, and I couldn’t post from it. Not a huge deal, there’s always the normal mode.

n December 2016, under President Barack Obama’s administration, the Corps of Engineers denied an easement for construction of the pipeline under the Missouri River,[13][14][15] though this decision was reversed the following month by the incoming administration of President Donald Trump. The pipeline was completed by April 2017, and its first oil was delivered on May 14.

And your own link that you posted states that “Grandpa Joe” rescinded the cross-border permit granted by the Trump administration.

You’re mad at the wrong people my dude.

Exactly, Facebook doesn’t do anything unless they see money in it or they’re trying to protect their bottom line.

It’s all about the shareholders, nothing else matters to the corporate world, no matter how nice of a bow they try to wrap it in.

@Rocketpoweredgorilla@lemmy.ca avatar

I used to have a cat that would go mental for Pringles. She would not leave you alone if she saw a can in the house until you would put it down on the floor for her to see for herself that it was empty.

I’m still running my Galaxy s4 with LineageOS. It’s on it’s third battery but works good otherwise. Doesn’t have the power of newer phones but all I need is a phone/email/text system, and the IR blaster is nice for controlling my tv/amp. I plan to run this thing until either it dies or I do.

Rocketpoweredgorilla, to politics in Speaker Mike Johnson says he's blurring Jan. 6 footage so rioters don't get charged
@Rocketpoweredgorilla@lemmy.ca avatar

"We don’t want them to be retaliated against and to be charged by the DOJ,” the House speaker said. His office later noted that DOJ already has the raw footage.

So he’s blurring faces the DOJ already have and simply claiming he’s doing it to protect them… the dishonesty runs deep in this “christian.”

I made a fireplace out of wood for my playhouse/shed. It worked about as well as expected.

(In my defense it was a sort of laminate, so I didn’t clue in what it really was until it was too late. I ended up causing around $2000 dollars damage, which was a fair chunk of money in the 70’s.)

No problem, maybe I should have been more clear with my comment. I was here when all that crap went down under a different username before I switched to this .ca one as my daily driver.

Rocketpoweredgorilla, to asklemmy in People who can control their dreams - what is it like?
@Rocketpoweredgorilla@lemmy.ca avatar

I remember my last bad dream. (many years ago)

I was running from some sort of skeleton things through a back alley. One of them caught me and we started fighting. In the struggle I managed to pin it down and yelled “Why are you chasing me?”

It stopped struggling and looked and me somewhat bewildered. “Because you were running.” It tried a few times to scare me into running again but I refused, so we just sat there and had an awkward conversation instead. Turns out my sleep demons are just as weird as I am.

I never said they had anything to do with it, only that may be where he went. (assuming he’s not still here.) The crap he was posting was very similar to what they were spamming.
