While camping, I noticed that if you look long enough at almost any star, you start seeing some tiny, subtle colors in that star. Even crazier, they sometimes flicker between more colors. In my case orange, blue and something like cyan....
No, it is a yellow dwarf, which has nothing at all to do with the color of the sun and everything to do with the mass,temp and fusion properties of the star.
Color wise though, it doesn’t just look white to us, it IS white. Snow is white because it’s reflecting sunlight, which is also why polar bear fur is white, and it’s why rainbows show all visible colors, because the sunlight they’re formed from contains all visible wavelengths, aka white.
Damn, got my hopes up. Don’t get me wrong I’m super glad trazodone works for you, but man it seems like every insomnia treatment “success story” I’ve heard goes the same way: “tried x, tried y, tried traz which worked great”. I know it shouldn’t, but it makes me really disheartened since trazodone failed miserably for me. Where other meds did nothing at all, traz put me in a fugue zombie like state where I was uncomfortably tired, but if anything even more incapable of actually sleeping. The sleep specialist I was seeing gave up on me so I’m just kinda raw dogging life now.
Not who you asked, but the times I’ve tried a schedule it’s been same time going to sleep. Waking up at the same time everyday would require someone pouring water on me. To guarantee I wake up on time for something I need at least 6 alarms set spread throughout the hour before the time I HAVE to get up.
Honestly I don’t fully remember, this was all back in 2019 and my memory is pretty shit. Gabapentin sounds very familiar so I’m guessing that was one of them, other than that and the traz, I tried two others but I can’t recall the name of them. I also was on seroquel as a kid; it wasn’t primarily for sleep but felt it worth mentioning since it basically felt like super trazodone, in a bad way.

Things have gotten better and progress has been made from times past, it just seems worse now because we have more access to information. We’ve come far, and have further to go!
Well that’s easy, because the statistics wouldn’t paint the view they’re trying to convey. Saying things are better now than they were 100 years ago is as useful as saying things are better than they were 3000 years ago, aka completely useless to say since when you compare to more recent times like 40 years ago you can point to how many things have gotten objectively worse.

None of that is communism though, that’s authoritarianism. Like this isn’t even a “not real communism” thing, it’s just objective facts. Communism is an economic system, NOT a government system.
But you know what, I AM gonna say not real communism anyways, because they weren’t. The direct stated goals of communism by Marx is the workers owning the means of production, and the abolishment of both private property(which is different than PERSONAL property, btw. i.e It’s still “your” toothbrush, not “ours”) AND the STATE. Many definitions also include the abolishment of money in of itself.
Only one of those goals were achieved by the USSR. Private property was abolished, but the state owned the means of production, which is a double fail as not only do the workers not own them, the state owning them means the state still exists. Money still existed as well. So overall, they met 1 out of 3/4 of the minimum requirements to be communism, and thus they weren’t communist.
Same story with China and basically every other “communist” country you could gotcha me with, abolishing private property is the only requirement they have met.
Meeting only one of multiple requirements to be something and calling yourself it anyways does not mean you actually are that thing. By that logic, I’m a good singer; I’m not good at it, but I CAN sing, so calling myself a good singer is perfectly valid.

Of course they do. They grew up in an authoritarian country calling themselves communist. Whether that country was actually communist or not doesn’t really matter; if you don’t actually know what communism IS, you won’t be able to recognize that the entity harming you is communist in name only. If they hadn’t actually read stuff like Marx, which most people likely didn’t seeing as google didn’t exist and you had to research stuff the old fashioned way(and even if you did do research, censorship is a concern), their definition of communism will be entirely based of the actions of their authoritarian government that claims to be communist.
To put a more modern perspective on this, North Korea calls itself a Democratic Peoples Republic despite being none of those things. But to a North Korean citizen isolated from outside information, NK is ALL of those things; if NK collapsed, there would definitely be some former NK citizens proclaiming the horrors of democracy, and there would definitely be people replying explaining how that “wasn’t true democracy”; sound familiar?
Communism is a flawed system because it can never work in reality, not because it’s inherently bad. For it to work, all forms of inequality have to be not just abolished, but abolished by total unanimous agreement by humanity; which will never happen, because there will always be people who care only for themselves or their “chosen people”.
Capitalism, on the other hand, is inherently bad. Evil, even. It “works”, but only by exploiting those beneath you. If you’re on the bottom rung with no one under you to exploit, or if you’re just too ethical to exploit those under you, it no longer works and you are left being a wage slave just to survive.
I’m a native english speaker who understands it perfectly. I still think it’s stupid, there is nothing wrong with throwing an “and” in there. If space is a concern just use an ampersand(&), it’s literally one more space than using a comma.
Nah, self checkout is WAY faster when there’s no line, but self checkout waiting behind a line of those goobers would be WAY slower. One time I scanned, bagged, paid, and loaded up an entire cart of groceries in the time it took the dude next to me to scan like a handful of items.
With normal checkout the customer is still the one putting groceries on the belt, and in most cases putting the bags back into the cart. Hell, at Aldi’s you have to bag the shit yourself anyways.
