Are you referring to the golden plates or are you confusing this one with Scientology? Either way, we’re not sure if they’re hiding money anymore, lol.
It’s not because of his drug addiction, interesting. It’s because he was being shitty towards poor and trans people. Glad to see he’s being reprimanded for something.
In many ways, Mastodon feels like rewinding the clock on social media back to the early days of Twitter and Facebook. On the consume side, that means that your home feed has no algorithm (this can be disorienting at first)....
Hashtags are the only way. You can follow mass hashtags though, which is nice. So if you want to know everything about a certain topic you would put in #favoritetopic and then push the follow sign for that topic. I have #seattle and #trails for example. Not every app lets you do this though but I know FOSS Tusky does and last I checked the official Mastodon does not.
On 18 April 2022, the Spanish digital newspaper El Confidencial published some leaked documents and audio files that they called Supercopa Files,[20] which included conversations that took place in 2019 between Rubiales and the footballer and businessman Gerard Piqué. The audio files find Rubiales negotiating to pay Piqué commissions related to playing the Supercopa de España in Saudi Arabia.[21] One of the conditions for these commissions was that two of the four participating teams would need to be Barcelona (Piqué’s club at the time) and Real Madrid. Rubiales would also benefit from these commissions due to the variable part of his salary in the federation.[22]
In 2022, Luis Rubiales’ uncle and former chief of staff Juan Rubiales denounced Rubiales to the anti-corruption prosecutor’s office for an alleged emblezzlement of RFEF money, reportedly spent in orgies with a group of friends in a house in Salobreña in 2020.[23] He has also been accused of using federation resources for his personal enjoyment, such as a trip to New York in 2018 accompanied by a Mexican painter.[24] According to Juan Rubiales, Luis Rubiales also devised an espionage scheme against AFE president David Aganzo.[23]
In December 2022, Rubiales filed a lawsuit against Wikipedia demanding that content on the Spanish Wikipedia which might be seen as damaging to his honour be removed.[25] The complaint was filed through the legal department of the RFEF. The lawsuit focuses on Wikipedia content about scandals including negotiations for the sale of the Supercopa de España to Saudi Arabia said to involve commissions and personal benefits, and derogatory WhatsApp postings about teams in the Spanish league.[26]

Twitter had that problem in the beginning, people forget that. I’ve seen some shitty stuff on Reddit as well and reported it, it’s a problem everywhere.
spoilerIt’s about a girl from a family that lived on Vatican grounds who was kidnapped. We know the mob and the Vatican are working together and the pope tried to cover it up. The pope was backing a Polish group that was going after communism in Russia. The US and the pope were on the same side for this one issue. The bank on the Italian side of the Vatican walls were laundering money so the pope could send money to the group that was going after communism. The girl who was kidnapped and probably killed was a warning to the pope that the mafia wanted their money back since the money was supposed to go both ways, but stopped at the Vatican. The last time we have info on the girl is that the mafia dropper her off to a person dressed as a priest.
That’s how I understand it, it’s complicated and they’re going through it as the journalist discovers information. This journalist is amazing and did a deep dive on their finances. I grew up catholic and still think of the religion and a lot of my friends and family as awesome, but that church was corrupt all the way down to the small parishes. The small parishes just did it in a different way.
To be fair, we all start out as dumb as children which is why a lot of religions get the children involved as young as possible. When it’s “the way it is” for most of your life, it’s hard to break free.
The federal judge presiding over Donald Trump’s criminal election interference case shut down a bid by the former president to set his trial more than two-and-a-half years away....
What gives you that idea? 5 months is plenty of time. He performed a failed coup on the US, we have it on video.
Edit: The judge gave them a month or two extra, it’s fine. Non-televised which is a shame.
A federal judge on Monday set a March 4, 2024, trial date in former President Donald Trump’s criminal election interference case, putting the top Republican presidential candidate on trial in Washington, D.C., seven months before the 2024 general election.
In the US, it depends on the tribe and they decide how much you need. Some are stricter than others. Canada and the US have been competing for worst treatment of first nations for a long time.
In many parts of Europe, it’s common for workers to take off weeks at a time, especially during the summer. Envious Americans say it’s time for the U.S. to follow suit....
Then you should be fighting for weeks vacation too. I notice you were very specific about not getting the whole month of August off, how many weeks do you get in vacation?
We have to have voting mail in and at the booths as federally mandated. Washington State and quite a few others do this and we get a pamphlet that lists each candidate, their website, a pic and their policies. This should be the bare minimum for every state.
That’s actually kind of deep. It’s built off of mostly white male info and has unclear blocks of information that kind of resembles a white human male but is obviously not fully fleshed out.
Is there any way to follow the updates without being logged into Mastodon? I don’t know if it’s mostly my user error that I can’t follow. I do know that we can’t really communicate towards them, but is following not an option as well?
It’s not showing up in a search and it’s got all kinds of weird things happening when I put that in the address bar. I get past the “it’s trying to trick you” phase and then it says it can’t show me anything.
If I put it in search and try to follow, it says I must be logged into Mastodon to do that.
This is shameless self-promotion, but part of a working theory I have that Mastodon users have more to offer Lemmy than your average Reddit user. See my other post about it here: lemmy.blahaj.zone/post/2174573...
I have very little on there because they suck and they are constantly telling me I’m going to lose what I have. It’s extortion and whatever. I have back up, It’s not even a gig of pics.
And make it dependent on upvotes/downvotes that Reddit can control. It’s hilarious and sad at the same time. I hope the mods ditch but I think some don’t want to lose their communities. It’s Reddit’s only ace in the hole.
What part of the last 7 years has made sense? We all have to let off a little steam here and he hates being made fun of. I don’t know, give us this one.
I have no idea of what you’re trying to say. Are you saying we should have made more fun of the Roe v Wade people because I don’t remember anyone doing that in the last 20. People are making amazing memes on Trump, even his supporters probably think so. The trial will bring home what a shit stain he is.
Thank you for the ramble, that was great. I finally understand why everyone thinks Cantonese is so hard. So many different combos and there are probably regional differences as well. We have a few words that can be mistaken for each other, so it almost seems quaint compared to monosyllables put together to form complex and different meanings done with different tones.
Would that be true if I’m just saying the word in my head though? I think there’s a case for that since I’m probably thinking of the word in the context of a sentence (any sentence) when I say it in my head.
