This. A ton of games have it removed eventually. The main purpose is just to keep the game from getting cracked during the initial release phase where they expect the majority of sales and hype.
The problem, at least to me, is the wildly inconsistent application of the rules. Plenty of streamers have gotten bans for inappropriate content for far, far less than this, and been told to shove it when they tried to appeal. I can guarantee you nobody would be up in arms over this if twitch just treated it as a free for all, and didn’t care if people streamed tits. The problem is that it isn’t, and lots of people get banned, while the big thirst streamers get given a free pass on everything
Also, If this goes through, the “banned games” list is going to need some real pruning.
Exactly. The twitch thot meta is entirely successful because they don’t have to compete with people posting actual porn, and that they aren’t posting on a porn site such that it’s less likely to be restricted, and gets full publicity
It eternally amuses me that it’s on the banned games list. Like yeah, it’s a shit game, but looking at the rest of the list (and games that aren’t banned, for that matter), it’s absurdly mild.

The main reason the ps4 pro came out was the relatively sudden mass adoption of 4k tvs as the new standard. Sony wanted something that could reliably take advantage of it
How do you deal with the fired at will thing when you get old for example?
I mean the most basic answer is that it really isn’t a problem unless you create one. Even at the most bottom of the barrel jobs, it’s still more expensive for the employer to hire and train a new employee than to just keep a current one. This is even more relevant for positions people would consider a “career”. So it’s no like people are just being fired at random or something.
I mean… OK? There’s nothing wrong with just wanting stuff in a game you’ve played for a while and plan on sticking with. Even as an adult with adult money, I still occasionally buy things like skins in games. Because ultimately I’m not always looking for a new game to play. I like the ones I already play. Nothing wrong with throwing $20 at a game I’ve played for years and would easily play for just as long going forward.
In an MP context, you get into peer pressure if you don’t have a cool skin or whatever
Perhaps it’s just my own experience, but I find next no no pressure whatsoever to buy skins, and never really have. Yeah, there’s the occasional skin with bs particles or a broken animation and they end up being cheat skins basically, but they usually get patched fast these days.
Yeah, I totally get not wanting kids to play online games.
The main reason I wanted to bring these things up is because it seems you have more of a problem with live service games done poorly rather than with the principle of them on their own.
It depends on the game, and what I feel like doing. My main rule of thumb is to not use pokemon I’ve used before, or use frequently.
Regarding overleveling, I always just compulsively switch train my weakest pokemon, even or my first runs. It’s really just something you have to get used to. It’s sorta the same mindset as item hoarding. It doesn’t matter if there’s an obvious way to win now, it matters that there might be a need for my team to have other strong members later. Therefore, they always need to be trained
Sony wishing they didn’t make the vita is a double edged sword, because it also means you can be a completely obvious hacker, and Sony doesn’t give a singular fuck. And they still ban people for hacking on ps3, so it isn’t just age.
like I went to taco bell and they didn’t even have napkins out. they had the other stuff just no napkins, I assume because some fucking ghoul noticed people liked taking them for their cars so now we just don’t get napkins! so they can save $100 per quarter rather than provide the barest minimum quality of life features.
I like it, but damage model vs HP takes some getting used to. You actually have to learn to take hits in nonessential places, instead of just getting praised by mihaiy for flying headlong into a missile
Because I don’t want governments having any pressure regarding what people make. If the EU actually respected games as art, they’d damn well understand how government pressure and money corrupts the final product.
“everything is political” is just retarded cope from people like you who get upset that they can’t use everything as a the basis of their political rants
And I don’t fucking want the American government involved either. Or the Chinese government. I don’t even want industry jannies like the esrb ibvolved.
this sort of thing is not gonna be wildly unusual in a number of countries in Europe in other forms of media. That is, it’d be a little odd if this wasn’t specifically done with video games, by the norms there.
So? It’s still shit when they do it elsewhere too, but this is a thread about video games. “the government already fucks up other industries already” is possibly the absolute worst possible argument for doing something.
They could’ve at least had an “accidental data breach” or something instead of just sitting on their hands telling everyone else how cool the thing they can’t have is
Not through steam, but I found a really cool add on type thing for ds4windows that configures the dualsense triggers to work and feel like the dual action gamecube triggers. It’s absolutely amazing when I’m emulating gamecube stuff to actually have the same triggers
I’m a heavy emoji user, texting is such a poor medium for communication, many times people get the wrong message, but with an emoji you’ll get an idea of the face I’m making, so less chance of misunderstanding...
A huge amount of emoji use is either a) entirely redundant, and thus just unsightly clutter in the text as it doesn’t fit in with any typical fonts, or b) completely lacking in general, shared meaning, such that it fails at being effective communication.
And yeah, there are situations in which they work, but typically it typically only does so in specific subcultures that have a common understanding of what various emoji mean. Because I’m sure you don’t consider 💢💢💢 needs correction 💢💢💢 to be a sensible response to your own emoji, but it would be for many people

Prices don’t make sense because you, as a regular person, don’t see the overwhelming majority of what contributes to them.
For instance, I figure you aren’t particularly familiar with the output quantity of various semiconductor factories around the world, the overall percentage that are good enough for high end computers, and how many different companies around the world need them for their products, and in what quantity. Or even on the consumer end, how different use cases effect demand, along with how the various brands stack up against each other in their current offerings.
